But the sex pistols were commercialy more succesfull than the ramones so most people tend to give the sex pistols and British punk the credit. The ramones are the true fathers of punk. The source of 99% of the film here is a 5-DVD set called "The History of Rock and Roll" which makes this plagiarism if you are getting academic credit for it. That being said, the opening song, "Know Your Rights", is by the English group The Clash. What about the hardcore bands that were REALLY against the system like Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys? What about the Cramps? What we have in this video is what we could expect from a corporation such as Warner Brothers - the most mainstream.
