I must say though, having the prototype trains sounds during your video is exellent! I hate the posters that put some jazz or even RAP music to the layout videos. Gangsta "thuggin" and steam locomotives really dont go together, imo, lol.
No offense, its a nice layout and all, but are'nt you bored of the "roundy-round" layout design yet? I see you have some operation to work with.....but..... I dunno, maybe you like the "railfan" type design, Thats cool, like I said, no offense.
Soon a new video will be here . . . showing both Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 2 is the fictious town of Jackson, Ohio along with a yard. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 are each built on a 36" x 80" hollow core door. The doors are latched together. I can run 3 and even 4 trains at a time and switch in the yard. Soon the new video will be posted.
There are several things I really like about this layout, but I think the trees really make it stand out. It also looks like it is fun to operate without being tremendously complicated. I can't wait to see Phase 2.
This is a great video. I saw the plan on your web site, and it's the same one that I selected last year to build. Gives me lots of encouragement to get going on it again.
Thanks. I modified the plan just a little and now, I'm doing Phase 2: another layout on a door which will connect to this one. Once it's finished, I'll post a video.
great layout had a look at mikes track plan I think this is a great starter layout to run two trains,
I might try this using kato track that I have laying around and will test it out on my grand kids.
once again great layout.

Awsome layout, amazing what you can do with N scale in a small area!

Thanks and you are correct. Wait until I finish Phase 2 (a yard and a town). The two will connect. I'll post a video.
