@andy119898 His works encourages both patients with neurological problems to overcome their issues and doctors willing to understand them, basically his books are medicine too =)
@Hematemesis tottally true!... Dr Sacks puts the topic of neurological disease in a spot between clinical understanding and common language that makes his books a delight for anybody, Patients, clinicians, or simply people willing to learn a little bit about how our brains work, and why we are so complex. again...thx a lot for the response...
@G36Ghost one of the most saddest movies ive ever seen i saw this in 2011, it randomly came on title said the awakening so i thought it was gona be soem sort of old thriller movie than it became one of the sadest movies ever......
@liltwoface1 wat happens they work out a fucking cure right than she all go disbales again so godam said they lived life for a while than bam their all gone
I really adore this marvelous film. Robin Williams was great and finally Robert De Niro showed not typical for him acting - yes, he was stunning. Other least famous actors/actresses were even more impressive. This film deserved at least 8 Oscars! Of course I expected happy end but it was based on true events so it was impossible from the beginning.
This is a moving film. When you recover from fatigue syndrome it feels almost like theese happy moments,-... and when you have a bad period ,your life seems like theese patients. It's hartbraking
awesome film , watching it right now , last time i seen it was waaaay back in the day

This movie kind of reminded me of a real life version of Charley or "Flowers for Algernon".

"Do all the things you take for granted" that line just might have stopped a suicide somewhere around the world.

What's sad, but unspoken thing is, the brilliant doctor (Robin Williams) doesn't realize that his nurse (Julie Kavner) is in love with him.
