  • So schön ....;)

  • @JDWnSRV Cool. We're cool. I just came from difficult times and reacted. Great memories you have. Anyway, as an informal "student" of music, my site is just a work in progress. Probably catch you around here. Peace.

  • @JDWnSRV I'm not trying to start a fight with anyone; I'm only standing up for the lady. OK, so you went over the line, from what I could tell by your comment, is all. As far as my taste in music is concerned, it's pretty eclectic. Beatles? Shit? Really?

  • @JDWnSRV Turd imlants? Why, they're those expensive, hifalutin teeth you apparently have that make you talk shit. And guess what, genius? When you talk shit, people don't automatically translate it into "adoration" on your behalf. Because you don't seem to understand that is just yet another reason that you're a "dud", a simple expression that even you should understand.

  • @JDWnSRV Not everyone could afford your turd implants, dud.

  • Darlene Love #1!!!

  • All of these girls could sing!!! Darlene Love sang on so many records, she should be a wealthy as Midas. But I think like so many singers of the time she was cheated.

  • Jean is the Mary Wilson of the Blossoms.

  • Darlene Rulel!

  • NO WAY

  • Fanita James is AWESOME! So are Darlene and Jean!

  • if u want to really listen to this song perfected listen to sarah vaughn do it. she does it perfect

  • I always thought the lead singer of the toys sounded a bit like the squeaky nauseating Diana Ross. These girls are artists. The Sarah Vaughan version is good too.

  • Wow, a Fanita solo?!

  • Really, Darlene Love was slightly underated as a performer. Some of the really big breaks didn't come her way, but she's a great singer regardless. She really had a big voice and often did background singing for less talented artists, but when it comes right down to it, she really had a voice. It's nice that finally, people in the business can see who the really talented people were and still are.

  • Darlene Love Is The Newest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductie!! 3-2011

Love Ms Love!! A Pro 4 sure!!

  • I think this is a great version and I think there are some incredibly stupid people that come on here and have very little musical knowledge...THAT"S my opinion.....

  • They were very pretty.

  • @coxmillelementary Ok Thanks

  • Well,I think they are very attractive ladies, with great voices. I remember seeing them on "Shindig" back in the 60's.

  • These ladies deliver a fabulous performance. The melody was derived from one of JS Bach's works and nicely arranged.

  • The Blossoms were the sound of a generation.

It's great to hear Fanita & Jean doing some smooth lead vocals.

  • @Imbullock522 Don't you Team Melinda people have anything better to do? like watch all your kids and make your signifigant other their food and please stop being mean to people

  • I've always wondered if Darlene is related to Mike Love of The Beach boys because they're so similar facially with the only difference being skin color. does anyone know?

  • Darlene Love is the best, wish she had sung the whole thing though

  • thank you bach for inspiration

  • The 60s! What a fun time to be a kid! I wish I was back there again.

  • I remember them as the " DREAMERS" they were a colorful group that had some success. This was a nice song that was a hit.

  • @lmbullock522 Fuck you, Darlene Love is still singing with nice teeth, nice skin and is a 60s Icon. She is on the Letterman Show every year before Christmas to sing BabyPlease Come Home.

  • Why don't you shut the fuck up and go masturbate to some doll? Stop referring to these classy women as bitches, you lowlife scumbag.

  • Post your pic, I hope you look like Brad Pitt and/or make a six figure income. Otherwise, you need to shut the fuck up. Music should not be about looks.

  • Don't you have your dick to scratch or something? You believe they are ugly, why hang around posting negative things about them? Does it make you feel better to insult these classy women that your ghetto/trailer trash ass can never get? With that attitude the only woman you can get is your right hand. Like I said, you are judging people's looks I hope you look like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, or Denzel, otherwise you can't be talking.

  • Aaah, Jean King is so pretty, R.I,P, Jean King! xxx

  • 3 weird looking women my goodness gracious.

  • I love this, you cannot get any better than Darlene Love! She is Brillant. xxx

  • I happen to find them attractive regardless on how they look. They have beautiful voices, and didn't get as much credit like they should have gotten. Just because they weren't like the supremes, the toys...or who ever else doesn't mean anything. Every girl has her own flaws. Like it or not.

  • I guess because The Supremes were OH SO POLISHED these girls (though GREAT SINGERS) come across as so "rough around the edges" you know what I mean?

  • @rioboy13

I know exactly what you mean. I do feel though that the blossoms contained something the supremes didn't. And that was a shared lead.

  • seems like they just grabbed these girls off the street and said, "sing!". i know that's darlene love in the middle, but dang!

  • love that Darlene Love, that girl has some voice onher

  • half expecting to see willy wonka on this set!

  • they tried still good

  • She has gorgeous teeth.

  • I Am so grateful for my wife's love. It is such a grace for me.Ohhh Love is so wonderful, the trees and the grass all seem so much greener not to mention the wonderful blueer than blue sky when i think of her love. This song makes me think of my wife and her strong true love for me and for that I thank God.

  • Nice to see a Group where everyone shares the lead

  • Damn, them some ugly ass dudes !!

  • @101AVERAGEJOE Damn, them would probably think the same about you!

  • @STONEYBROKESTILL - come on Stoney, you know that was funny, a little bit maybe?

  • who's the first singer? Great song

  • The Toys.

  • Sorry, I meant the first singer in this video - thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @eoghan1010

the first woman singing is Darlene Love... the second is Fanita James, and the third is Jean King

  • @yandrsupreme

Thanks for that. She's not only a good singer but a beauty too

  • Darlene Love is the woman who sang the vocal for the crystals' "He's A Rebel", and she had done many other things over her career. Currently she appears on David Letterman every Christmas week to sing... she's been on his show every Christmas for 20 years now. Darlene's SISTER, Edna is the lead singer of Honey Cone... look them up, GREAT group!

  • @yandrsupreme It's all before my time. I was driving home through the snow last week and I heard the toys singing it. My Mum sang this and many more and yes, great stuff. Honey Cone - Brilliant. Brings back a lot of memories. In this clip I think Darlene looks so beautiful, especially her teeth and smile. Teeth are far too 'perfect' these days if you know what I mean. Thanks again ... Eoin

  • A nice version of this great song...brings back a lot of early memories. I had 3 sisters so every time I think of the '60's, phantom hair spray fills the air!

  • wow

  • The Blossoms was the studio group on "Shindig." They provided background support for the guests on the show. Also, they would also sing a song or two each week that was currently on the charts and made popular by other artists........in this case, The Toys.

  • Of the three ladies here, Jean King (third singer) had the best suited voice for the this song. The Supremes and The Toys both had nice versions of this as well. Darlene Love, what can I say . one of the greatest voices around I think, love almost everything she does even if this is not my favorite version.. The best version by far of Lovers Concerto is the one sung by Sarah Vaughn.

  • finally they show that they are also a good group and not only good backgroundsingers :D

I really like the third girls voice sadly I don't know her name

  • @Individuell83 they sang "He's A Rebel" which was a hit but the credit went to the Crystals

  • hmm that's sad but the christals were also good :)

  • Thats the first time I heard that version, never realised Darlene sang this, always remembered it as The Toys

  • nice one rainbow regards-wayne

  • the supremes version is nice too

  • I found it more impressive and alive than the Toys version.

  • The first ever Ronnie Spector Darlene Love A Christmas Gift For You live concerts- Dec 11 Parilla Pac Montgomery College Rockville MD and Dec.17 The Count Basie Theatre Red Bank NJ.

  • Untutored or not, DL had some natural great pipes. She had a great career and by all accounts was a great person.

  • @jmshaw357 She still does. On all counts...

  • @jmshaw357 Totally agree, Darlene rules! xxx

  • @jmshaw357 She still has a career and is still a GREAT singer...better than ever!!

  • The three of them together aren't half as good at lead as Toys' Barbara Harris--on this song, anyway.

  • Didn't Elivis put the Blossoms on payroll?

  • he put the amazing Sweet Inspirations on the payroll - originally led by Whitney's mom, Cissy Houston but still smokin with Estelle Brown etc.

  • Untutored voices, but a certain earthiness about them

  • geez why so harsh comments, i think they did a great hjob i must admit Darlene & Fanita voices were to strong for this type of song, they sohuld've just let Jean sing the wohle thing, but they did good and a bonus you got to hear Fanita & Jean sing

  • That was not very good and I am being polite here.

  • Jean King looks like the comedienne Adele Givens on this clip. Nice song, it's a shame how they murdered it.

  • Shame this group seemed to do so many cover versions or just be back up singers. They deserved so much better. Darlene Love always was great

  • It is indeed a shame...but to be fair, at least Darlene Love had her moment. It was her singing lead vocals for the Crystal's 'He's A Rebel,' and though it was overlooked back then, today it's pretty much common knowledge with Crystals fans.

  • The Toys they ain't!!

  • Comment removed

  • @BernardProfitendieu True that!

  • @BernardProfitendieu I've always liked Darlene Love, but I have to agree that The Toys' version is quite a bit better.

  • @vandywilliam i totaly agree with u the toys blew them away.

  • Is that Fanita James and Darlene Love? Sorry, I forget who the other lady is.

  • Yes, it is. The third Blossom is Jean King.

  • Nice song, 100% nylon wigs, my favorite girlgroup

but... I've seen the girls looking better than this, they seen to have have a bad skin too.

  • puh-leeze!

  • Why all the criticism? This was a low budget show. Very talented ladies!
