  • See my awful version on my channel :)

  • They laugh at every single sentence he says...

  • EVERYONE at my university talks like this, even ME! :D

  • It's a moron convention!

  • Why are they laughing at every word

  • @pistol82810 because they had seen it previously on YouTube[non live] so knew what was coming.

  • Crowd; Please shut the fuck up, and dont laugh on every fucking word.

  • LOL! HE SAID GAP YAH! OMG! LOL!

  • 25 people CHUNDERED EVERYWAH and missed the like button.

  • all of that fake fucking laughing in the background made me not watch this video, rather cuntish.

  • @ArtexedSmashing Easy compadre

  • They laugh at "South America" but not "insignificant truth"?

  • @TheRipaz123 It's probably a bit to high brow for the audience. :P

  • the other video is better i swear these people are just repeatedly laughin at nothing...why laugh at the word 'south america' its not a funny word :S

  • Banter!!!!

  • its funny but people dont need to laugh everytime he says a fucking word. cunts.

  • @StuFLX That last bit wasn't really necessary, was it?

  • This is funnyish ... but the twats laughing at nothing sort of ruin it. ORIGINAL GAP YAH FOR THE WIN

  • the actual Gap Yah is better ;) x

  • I'm pretty sure he did this first, then recorded it.

  • @gilorules Somehow I doubt it considering the setting is part and partial to the storyline, I would assume they decided to do the live version after receiving a great amount of acclaim for the original video -nod-

  • It's amazing, I can't help but to smile XD Try watching it with a straight face....physically impossable :)

  • i was like BANTER!!!

  • i was like BANTER (L)

  • Gap Yah T-Shirts EBAY

  • fuck that crowd is loving every word

  • I don't really see why you'd want to watch this live.

  • @Timmaigh that's just like saying "i don't really see why you go to gigs to see bands - i'd rather just listen to them on a screen and be done with it."

  • @Urbanstfu

Gigs are good for the atmosphere. I'd much rather see a stand-up comedian than a sketch show live but whatever.

  • @Timmaigh well, i always thought sketch originated from being live on stage thats why i commented

  • haha gap yah

  • GAP YAH T-SHIRTS on EBAY

Just type 'Gap Yar' into YouTube search.

  • Gap Yah T_SHIRTS

    Type 'Gap Yah' on EBAY

  • Pure Zeitgeist of rah Life

  • This guy went to Oxford University, seems like a top bloke.

  • It's funny that people are saying that they're privatly educated and don't talk like this but maybe I'm missing something, because does this man say he's privatly educated?

Also this sketch is funny in the same way Shamless and other comical sketches that employ social steriotypes about coucil estates are. I can laugh at them even though I've lived on one, and never acted like that.

  • @smirkingkills hes only pretending to talk like that...

  • I can't wait for my gap yah, its going to be like BANTAH!

  • Gap yah live > Gap yah original

  • Love how the audience laugh at every single word.

  • I want this man dead

  • @MistaMizch33f me too. that way he'd get even more famous and this skit would live forever!

  • ahaha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • ahaha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • ahaha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • have that nature!! one-nil :D

  • I go to a public school and though people do speak and act like this, its like 1 in 20. Still fucking fantastic though :)

  • I am Maltese. I have a friend who is also Maltese. She went to 6th form in England. She talks like that. Just like that. She is currently on her gap yah in Vietnam. I shit you not internet. BANTER!

  • love this, it's hilariously accurate (and yes i went to private school)!

  • ahaha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • its funny. but the crowd go fucking crazy

  • ahaha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • yeah on my gap yah..

    AHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHA

  • aha, if you like student related funnies, watch my 'Phantom of the Lecture' video, I promise you'll wee yourself gogogo

  • The audience laugh way too much, the guy has to talk over their damn laughter.

  • good to see matt lacey is going places

  • I just CHUNDERED EVERYWHERR looll

  • Too obvious to be funny. Lacks the subtle wit of High Renaissance man. Can't believe the appreciation this crude charicature has gotten.

  • @HighRenaissanceMan .come on - credit where credit is due i think! Bitterness and jealously is not a great comedy trait... is it Tom?

  • @MrJimbojimbo1986 No, and NO! Credit is not due here: this is an insultingly childish attempt at pastiche. This is lazy, unsophisticated and in all honesty, unfunny humour.

  • @HighRenaissanceMan you and your punctuation *chunders*

  • @HighRenaissanceMan Yah, floreat Etona, bru. Although HRM is actually funnier.

  • @HighRenaissanceMan - The reason this "crude caricature" is so well liked is because, well, it's depressingly accurate. And I say this as a privately educated university student.

  • @PaddyTV - PS: High Renaissance Man is good too though, but also fairly OTT and caricatured. I enjoy both.

  • When was this filmed ???

It's just I saw Simon Donald of VIZ fame performing a pretty much identical routine back in December.

    Someones been pinching material.

  • ahahaha even better live!

  • this gives all who were privately educated a bad name and is unfairly stereotypical. that's why I FUCKING LOVE ITTTTTT :)

  • @CharlotteElisabethx

i was privately educated and i don't speak like that

  • @ollybreh but did you chunder everywhaare?

  • @ollybreh i was privately educated too... what's your point, love?

  • @CharlotteElisabethx i don't know anyone who talks like this and i go to private school..

  • @xNiC0L3i4Nx

Wait til uni... my god he's hit the nail on the head. Classic uni rich kid... theyll be in the ridiculously expensive halls mostly

  • @xNiC0L3i4Nx because you are one lol

  • @CharlotteElisabethx I love you.

  • @CharlotteElisabethx but private school people love it more than state school people. :/

  • @dildodill13 because those of us at private schools have invariably met someone exactly like this...

  • this is exactly what the people of exeter university are like!

  • you don't have to be at uni to find this funny, it's funny just to hear him say CHUNDERED everywhere, it's the irony of him being posh and living such a shitty lifestyle that is funny lol

  • @larendor10

No, You have missed the funniest part of this.

    I'm very much guilty of

    a) banging on about gap year

    b) saying banter too much

    c) spending a lot of time in fulham

    d) telling stories ending in chundered everywhere!

    FML...

  • Should have said "haha nature 15 love"

Otherwise it's hilarious and very very true

  • @timburbage technically as nature served first (the awesome power of nature and the insignificance of man) and then he returned the serve with his chunder then it would be 'love 15' but i see your point.

  • @timburbage haha you're so right man.

  • this is hilarious - kind of reminds me of the trustafarians off the kevin bishop show - they're brilliant!

  • what is his name?!

  • @slapehdiebass Matt Lacey

  • Banter!

  • out of every single line - the only one i don't get is 'banter'.

    whats the joke with that?

  • @sssdddkkksss banter is an english word for like a laddish joke. if you have banter with someone, who your taking the piss out of them in a witty and clever way, not a moronic way. something thats laddishly funny in its own right. so chundering on the floor....everywhere, in front of the prison guards is funny to these guys, therefore its banter. i cant believe i actually bothered to explain that!

  • i love this so much! it is sooo true :D xxx

  • this is highlarious, don't get me me wrong, but the audience and so fucking annoying

  • I love this even more watching it "live". Best comedy sketch I've seen in a while!

  • BANTER

  • hes my cousin!! wat a legend, my house xmas matt.

  • @killerkicksm can i come too?: ) I don't have a family for xmas :(

  • The gap yah guy (the character's name is Orlando apparently) is on twitter!

    twitter. com/gapyah

    Brilliant. Love this sketch.

  • must be hard doing this live, pausing for laughs after ever sentence, you need to though its fucking hilarious

  • must be hard doing this live, pausing for laughs after ever sentence, you need to though its fucking hilarious

  • Is this for real? Where did he do a stand up? I'm suspicious of this being canned laughter.

  • @chrisreid800 whey aye, canned laughter? can you see the audience?

  • @rugbystar10010 shut up u fucking cunt

  • @cpdp999 wooahh calm down

  • @rugbystar10010 yes... at the start

  • @chrisreid800 13 seconds in, the second shot is of the front half of the audience.. of course he did a stand up.

  • @omardude39 shut up omar, taking my dads job?

  • @chrisreid800 wow chris you are a dick.

  • just so awesum

  • id rather be a poly than a c***

  • Three words...Oxford Brookes Cheney. That is hilarious!

  • that is one of the funniest things ive seen, i know ppl just like that

  • I love this sketch more then I can put into words... fucking LOVE being a drunk, lazy, patronising, intelectual student!!

  • okay yah! I know so many people like this...they're normally braindead but great to take the piss out of as their ideals are so far removed from reality. HILAAR

  • why is this funny?! it's really basic humour. The crowd are like zombies! It's a pity that most of our country need a punchline or catchphrase to make them laugh - Little Britain is a prime example. 'Chundered' is not a funny line but it's as if it flicks a laughter switch. The extras Christmas special taps into this tribal yearning for acceptance via group laughter. if you want to see a good public school satire YouTube 'High Renaissance Man'.

  • @antiquejewellery the reason the 'chundered' line works so well, and got a round of applause is because everyone has heard a story from an upper class toff which is stereotyped in this sketch.

Most times, simple humour is the funniest.

  • @Erkal2006 Fair point, that's what the public want. Bit average though...

  • @Erkal2006 Fair point, that's what the public want. Bit average though...

  • @antiquejewellery I think this is a great sketch, but I watched the 'High Renaissance Man' mockumentary and that is simply brilliant.

  • This only became funny when I realised what chunder meant!! LOL, what a brilliant way of comically diverting from such affluent descriptions

  • I LOVE THIS. he looks so much like david cameron as well

  • Nah man.Cameron doesn't have guns that big nor does he have an accent as HILARIOUS as this.

  • *points down*

    BANTER

  • truly reminiscent of gap yah c'*ts at uni.

  • i think to find this funny you have to have been to a uni, usually redbrick, where you meet a lot of people exactly like this guy who despite being fairly affluent live the chaviest and most pojntless lifestyles that just revolve around ''tha lash'', ''BANTTTAHHH'' and chundering. In fact there was a girl in my halls very much of this mould who 6 months ago used all three in a sentance leaving me very confused...when i first saw gap yah i instantly thought of that exchange with the girl!!!!

  • @hjastroi

    cool story bro

  • @hjastroi you sound like a dick.

  • Gosh I just absolutely lahv this sketch, reminds me of my gap yah.

Oh hang on I just CHUNDERED EVERYWHARRRRRRR

  • Ah, I see a fair few of these at Leeds Uni!

  • Funny as fuck, blokes a legend!!!

  • @carricklee YAH A TOTAL LEGEND, like literally.

  • Comment removed

  • leeds

  • Its true. We at Brookes do just chunder everywhere!

  • Durham?

  • @toonahfish I absolutely agree, I'm sure he's from castle!

  • not funny :(

  • not funny :(

  • Its all a bit obvious. Is this the best up and coming British Comedy we have to offer?

I'm not knocking it, but i'd rather watch The Young Ones or League of Gentlemen.

Its a tad weak. Or is it funny cos its true (c Homer Simpson)?

  • why are the crowd so annoying lol

  • Pure banter. I was at Oxford, which is populated almost entirely by these sort of people. Not as bad as Brookes, to be fair (but then again what is?)

  • @vlad2112 About 60 other universities? Elitist much?

But I agree, the rahs at Brookes are terrible.

  • CHUNDERED EVERYWHERE

  • Yeah, it's the Hugh Grant kind of scene. Your average bloke dahn the boozar tends to punch these wine-bar "Oh darling, I'll have a Tia Maria, that beer's far too bitter" pansies in the chops on sight. Ok, yah.

  • Brillaint!

  • not funny at all, poor attempt at comedy

  • university of Southampton in a nutshell, great banter!

  • What are the audience laughing at? Sheep-it really is not that funny.

  • Why are they sheep for laughing at something in a supposed comedy club? I'm pretty sure comedy clubs are where people laugh.

  • @Radz117 I feel that they laugh as a shared experience, which is Ok, but the whole routine is far from funny. If you want funny try someone like Steven Wright or Billy Connolly or Eddie Izzard.

  • Yeah you don't find it funny I get it, but what I don't understand is why they are sheep because they all happen to find this guy funny?

If you were watching Eddie Izzard do stand up and were laughing as were the whole entire crowd would that not make you a sheep?

  • @Radz117 Baaah!! Ewe may be right!

  • @thehellhecould Surely people are allowed to have a different opinion than you? Surely!?

  • @mutzigmorzine Of course everyone has to agree with me-mine is the only opinion that matters!! The routine is a very hackneyed repeat of Harry Enfield's Tim Nice but Dim (which was not very funny either.)

  • @thehellhecould Well i think this is one of those situations you really need to have met people like this before. i met many whilst backpacking and now meet loads of them at Uni. I dont think you can compare this, obviously low budget sketch with the likes of Izzard and Connolly either.

  • @mutzigmorzine I think you will find at my age I have met lots like this too. I simply think his approach is not funny

  • @thehellhecould Hmm maybe thats the major factor then, your age? Too old for this modern comedy?

    I joke. :)
