@SuperWildman11 Radioisotope-dating is what they use in cases like this. They go by how deep the fossils are buried and how old the rocks are that are found all around the fossil. Dating a couple of those gives you a fairly good estimate of when the bones ended up there.
@SuperWildman11 just because it is made of stone doesnt mean there isnt any carbon in it. carbon can be found very easily in nature. take diamonds for instance, theyre stones that are completely made of carbon. so carbon dating fossils is not useless
@IckyStickyIcky What do you mean when something is that old? They don't know how old it is until they do the experiment. And how about you tell me what that is and stop just assuming I know everything. And I will enjoy my Bible because I accept that it completely true. You can sit there and wonder if what you think is true is really true because evolutionary scientists continue to change their theories and you keep believing them because they say they are right.
The most that's being debated at the moment is how big a part certain environmental influences play in guiding mutation. The base idea hasn't change since Darwin suggested it
"faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"
You're not fooling anyone, we all know what faith is, it's forcing yourself to act as if something is absolutely true, lying to yourself and others about your doubt
@TheSpiffyHarry Exactly. "The evidence of things not seen." God isn't seen by us. Not until we die at least. You actually have FAITH that Darwin isn't lying. I'm no trying to fool anyone. I am sure that God exists and there is evidence. Think about your emotions. Think about all of your abilities and think about how that could be by chance. Faith is believing that something is true. It's not lying to yourself. Evolutionary scientists are lying to you.
Okay, so basically what you've told me is you don't know how science/the peer review process works, otherwise you wouldn't even suggest that these people are lying. This information isn't incredibly difficult to understand either, when Darwin first suggested his theory people were amazed at how evident in nature and intuitive the theory is
And no, faith is believing that something is truth, not believing something that is true
@TheSpiffyHarry That' what I said. Faith is believing that something is true. Those people were amazed how "evident it was because they were gullible and weak-minded. The Bible speaks of people like that. Those people found it so easy to understand because they were so stupid. They found it evident because they thought that animals look alike. The whole evolutionary thing is based on things looking alike.
"The whole evolutionary thing is based on things looking alike."
This is called comparative anatomy, do you REALLY think that's the only area of scientific study that biologists have looked into concerning evolution, are you really not aware of the other areas of study?
If so, why are you here chatting about this when you don't even have a high school level of knowledge on the topic?
@TheSpiffyHarry Comparative anatomy. How they look alike. It seems like all you can do is my excuses and say words that only you and evolutionary "scientists" know instead of giving me reasons and saying what these words mean. Give me some of these other areas instead of just saying that there are other areas.
Comparative anatomy is something people learn about in middle school, children know this term. I'm trying to point out that you don't even have a basic understanding of evolution or it's premises and you're here arguing against it
Paleontology, Comparative anatomy, Embryology, Comparative biochemistry, Domestic breeding, Geographic distribution, Homologous/analogous/vestigial structures, speciation of fruit flies, chromosomal evidence, DNA evidence, nylon digesting bacteria
@TheSpiffyHarry To tell the truth, I don't know a load of things about evolution. I'm trying pretty hard to be honest! :D I go to a Christian school that doesn't teach that stuff.
Ah, I don't want to seem like I'm pushing anything on you that you don't want to know about, but if you google, "evidence for evolution" or, "answers to creationist questions" you should be able to find all the information you could want

I am calm, so you can't do it? The argument you made is a well known fallacy in philosophical logic, it's called an argument from ignorance. Basically you're saying you can't imagine how things in nature are the way they are, and drawing a conclusion that doesn't follow, that's all I was saying, sorry if you read it like I was being hostile, I'm actually enjoying our discussion very much :)
@TheSpiffyHarry I guess some people rely too much on the physical explenation of things. The concept of evolution makes sense to some people because they grew up with it, and Christianity makes sense to others for the same reason. Before pushing it off, could you consider where emotions, senses, and your ability to reason could come from? As far as I know, evolutionary scientists haven't ever tried carbondating any dinosaur bones to see how long ago it died.
If you'd actually answer the questions I've been asking you, I would of already gotten you to a point where you would have to admit that evolution makes sense, but you're refusing to address any of the points I've brought up, it's a little bit disheartening to be honest :(
Emotions evolved. A better question to ask would be, "why is there something, rather than nothing" and the answer to that is, we don't know, you claim to know, but you don't and can't demonstrate why you know
And a few people already explained to you that carbon dating only works for fossils up to 60,000 years, beyond that they have to use radioisotope dating, 5 minutes of reading of this on wikipedia will bring you up to speed :)
@TheSpiffyHarry But did they already carbondate them before radioisotoping it? And how did they even figure that the limit to 60,000 years. What if it is less than that?
"And how did they even figure that the limit to 60,000 years. What if it is less than that?"
It's based on the decay of carbon 14 into nitrogen 14, they can add these two numbers together to get the original carbon 14 content, and measure it's age because the decay of carbon 14 is always constant. It takes 60,000 years for all the carbon to turn into nitrogen
Carbon dating has been calibrated with objects of known age and tree rings, it works
By the way, you haven't addressed or answered a single one of the points I presented you with, nor answered any of my questions. I'm sitting here, answering all your questions, giving you the evidence you ask for, and then when you realize I can answer, you move onto another topic without conceding anything
@TheSpiffyHarry Sorry if it seems like I've been pushing off your comments and questions. For some reason on Youtube it only lets you see a few comments as actually new.
@lilcharlief Carbondate it and tell me how old those dinosaur bones are. Are you a scientist? Evolutionists are afraid to carbondate bones because they don't want to be proven wrong. And what proof do you have of them being that old? Assumptions that you came up with by watching too many documentaries? If you don't know what it is, carbondating is telling how much carbon is left on a once living substance which tells how long ago it was when it died.
@sidney3808 It's 47 million years old you idiot. How are you gonna call other people incompentant (who do all this amazing work, mind you) when you don't even know how carbondating works, and all the while, you're shouting that they're afraid to test it because of what they would find...? LOL. Carbondating is accurate up to 60,000 years, you tool. A bone that is 47 million years old is LONG passed that. There is no carbon to test. Learn your shit, fool.
Carbon dating is only used for things older than 150 years and younger than about 60,000 years, tree rings are used to calibrate this dating method, and it's been used on samples of known age, it is accurate but it has limits.
They use radioisotope dating for objects older than that. With this fossil they probably would of used the rate at which Potassium decays into Argon to date it, hope this helps! :)
@sidney3808 carbon dating measures how much carbon-14 is left in a substance based on the half-life of the isotope. you have no proof that scientists are afraid to use carbon dating. in fact it is a very common practice for many fields of science, not just paleontology. basic high school chemistry teaches you how common this is, so either you were a very terrible student or you never went to high school, in which case i pity you for your ignorance
That's what I've been saying! Don't you hate it how these people just gloss over everything you say? They keep jumping topics, hoping to stump you, but they never address any of the points you bring up, drives me crazy!
@garrge245 What I'm confused on is, how do they figure that 60,000 years is the limit of carbon dating? It couldn't have been anything less? Christians believe that the world is around 2,000 years old. Many people in the comments might call me stupid for saying this but I'll explain why. We believe that God created every living thing as they are.
@sidney3808 the limit lies at 60,000 years because after that amount of time, the amount of carbon-14 in any organism is too small to measure. there are other ways used to date things such as uranium-lead dating, which is most likely what they used to find how old this animal is. the half life of carbon-14 is exactly 5,730 years, which in itself proves that the world is older than 2,000 years
@ShayneTheNavyMan Radiocarbon dating is for fossils up to 40,000 years, actually. Potassium Argon dating is for fossils much older than 100,000 years. We've dated volcanic ash in Laetoli to be 2.9 million years old. And the bones of "Lucy," who's about the same age, then there's all the other places where fossils are dated to be over 3 million years old. I'm not sure about this 47 million years thing, though, considering how weathered and hard to find fossils from 3 m.y.a. are to find.
@pogpogcasino When fossils form, minerals from surrounding earth fill the cellular spaces in the creature's bones and crystallize. The shape of the original plant or animal is preserved AS ROCK. Jeez....
Wooh! So many facts being showered down here it's seriously scary. I wonder if they ever question their facts. Stupidity lies in assuming that the facts you were told are in fact actually true. Want some narrow mindedness - believe all the facts you are told :)
This world is only full of facts because we don't want the truth & you wouldn't believe the truth :):):) Fact!
@silversurfers7 greetings mate - I don't think they will ever tell us we were created by aliens. We are being gently killed off & the last thing they want to do is inform us of anything. If there is a war going on in space for the earth & its rescources then you can see why one party is trying to spoil the goods. There are a good many people who cannot see further than their noses & do not even want to - but hey thats up to to them. All the best mister - have a nice day :)
@2JAMMY ....Yep, you hit it on the head! So right, the mass will always be abused. I myself think that ET should rule this world, you never know, we might be way far off better!! I'm willing to take that chance, considering today’s living situation. Peace and love to you friend :-)
UM we still have 9ft lizards in the komodo islands and aligators and crocodiles etc etc. The earth is 4.5 billion year old, really? Not 5 billion or 4 billion. You where there im sure buddy. If space ships were carved on stone images and weird monster images etc etc. Then an image of a man on a big dino-lizard is not inconceivable when i was only talking about a stone carving from some primative human. Science has continually been retracting statements and will continue to. Eg is Pluto a planet?
@smich007 "You where there" lol. What the hell are you talking about anyway. There were no spaceships and there were no people riding dinosaurs. Why would scientists not retract bad information? If Pluto looked like a planet and then we realize it's just an ice-ball, why not retract it? Why do you say "science" has continually been retracting as if you are against science?
@Trouter92 oh no didnt mean to come across like that. What i was refering to was just because on a documentry there was footage of carvings of little men on dino beast and there was footage and books with the space ship pics etc and now a you-tube vid like this one stating whatever its stating and scientists estimating when the earth was born. im saying i dont believe such claims. science has not come far enough along to really be sure because science is also evolving. better?
45 million years old??? A skeleton can't stay as a skeleton if it reaches more than a million year mark due to OXYGEN and other elements that can easily pulverized the skeleton. 45 million years old? Lol!
Only a non-tissue thing can withstand millions of years, example, ROCKS, GOLD, DIAMONDS, etc..
47 million years my arse. Carbon dating is not a 100% and it fact. Nothing but single celled omeba crawling around. Science is 70% guess work and i got those figures from a scientist, Ancient civilizations , before Maya Inca weirdo's have tomb stones with man and dino-reptilian beasts on them showing man riding these dino-beasties and they arent 20 million years old so im calling bull shit on all the age calling from so called people in the know. Dino's could of been around 10-20 thous yrs ago.
@smich007 If Dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time we wouldn't be riding them. We would be running from them. The Flintstones is not the greatest basis concerning the earth's age. If human beings coexisted there would be actual physical evidence to suggest it. Human remains would be found in the stomach cavities in predatory dino fossils. This has never happened.
47 million? this must be one of the oldest hominids fossils ever found!. So that's how our ancestors looked like, good lord thanfully i've been an atheist my entire rational life.
@VelveteenRabbitGirl Age or old? - I never met a 900 y.o. old, but still have some coins from the ancient Roman empire, witch are over 2000 years old. Also my noble family tree is over 900 years old and can be traced back to 1032.

This is a fallacious argument before it's even begun if you lead with those 3 words.
"So who's to say that the world is young or old?"
Scientists are to say how old the Earth is, just as your cell phone provider is to say how your cell phone works. It's what they do. It's what they know.
@SeedsOfHatred Science only states what we know to be "true" up until something else is discovered that invalidates the theory or even law. The best scientists understand that all the knowledge we have gained is just a postulation of what is the most likely cause and effect of a certain phenomenon based on repeated experiments. That has been the case since people first started using the scientific method, to think it will change now cuz we're "so advanced" is a bit naive.
@RageGRA I didn't say it would change. I also do not claim that science knows all. I was simply stating that scientists know the age of the Earth because it's their job to know. They find the evidence, they test the evidence, they REtest the evidence, and it continues to yield the same results.
When evidence continuously fails to change, it stands to reason that we've found the answer.
@scythian0528 Okkkkkayyy. And Unicorns roam the planet and shoot rainbows out their arse. And the moon is made of cheese and the streets are paved with gold. And no one ever dies, and the earth is flat, and bats are birds and god's love is so great that he appears to everyone on a tortilla to prove his real. WAKE UP TO YOURSELF!! Old world creationism is dying out, even among christians moron!!
@Demogorgon47 I mean like Darwin even said that evolution is a theory, but it doesnt mean its not real i may not beleive in it but i beleive it could happen same thing in the bible they are something that have been found false in today technology but it doesnt mean that its false. Also i dont care what somebody does its their to do. @Demogorgon47
@ifoundyou37 Well you seem more open minded then most christians and that's a good thing and it's good that you'd seek treatment through medicine instead of prayer that shows logic. I like you. You are an example of a logical christian, one who doesn't judge and is open minded. If there's a god I think he'd be very proud of you.
@Demogorgon47 i know i will admit their are some things with wrong every religion. You see i may pray if somebody sick but if i had the choice to either pray or go get the person medicine i would choose get him medicine in a heartbeat but the problems is that EVERYTHING is a theory
@Demogorgon47 im christian and even i agree that its pure stupidity to judge what someone believes in i mean i know people are Atheist and i dont judge them and people know im christian and they dont judge me. it really is pure stupidity
@ifoundyou37 It's not just the stupidity on judging people though. It's more then that. I mean look at all the reasons why christians crack a shit. Over condoms, over vaccinations. I mean all these silly little things they reject which can lead to the prevention of diseases and christians say, "I'm gonna pray instead" and when they do pray and the guy dies because he didn't get the vaccine it's "It was his time" but if he doesn't, it's like "MIRACLE! IT'S A MIRACLE!"........
@ifoundyou37 ......by the way I'm not judging you man. You seem like a decent christian. But doesn't it ever bother you how backwards christianity can get on logical decisions? I know it drives me nuts. Not to mention atrocities like the dark ages retarded human technological progress. And despite all the evidence atheists have to prove evolution, many christians still won't listen. I think I'd be happy if christians accepted that they and their god CAN and sometimes ARE wrong, same as everyone.
yeah, but this lil lizard had thumbs or at least the beginnings of thumbs. That is why it is so important. Hence all the "LINK" t-shirts being worn in the video.
Just sheep following other sheep... Like any trend that's all. I can't wait until religion crumbles when our true history is revealed and that's right around the corner. Good luck you fanatical weirdo motherfuckers
@myGodsAreAliens God isn't the aliens but aliens must excist, watched sky at night yesterday it say there could be over 100 billion planets out there.
dinos died 65 million years ago. life started millions and millions of years before that. there is evidence that some dinos developed bird hips, others had lizard hips. some even have structures only found in warm blooded animals. we have zero evidence jesus ever walked this earth beyond a book written many many years after his alleged death. I'm tired of these people yelling at me. Physical evidence or a bunch of paper which has no original copy. huh. why is critical thinking shunned?
this wasnt found in germany, this is the "missing link" or what scientist though was the missing link between humans and monkeys turned out its not. and they bough this from some guy in Indonesia for $3 million. and that anchor is fucking hot.
@Deathtogreece2 I heard it is a 'missing link' between lemurs and monkeys. So still very important, just not in the taxonomy area that the media originally reported.
These evoltuions vs religion comments r really starting to piss me off! Stop trying to undermine one individual's opinion. Its called free speech. AND I mean both groups
@CondorDMaDnD2ed "No, it's called free speech" I don't understand what u mean on that. "no shut up so others false beliefs remain not challenged" again I dont understand what ur trying to say. Please be more clear r u saying Im not challenging other peoples beliefs? Why do I care about what other people believe but the better question is why do u?
@Basty135 You do realize you contradicted what yourself - "These evoltuions vs religion comments r really starting to piss me off! Stop trying to undermine one individual's opinion. Its called free speech. AND I mean both groups" - Free speech gives me the right to criticize peoples beliefs an for people of faith to argue back against my words in any open form(like here). Your telling both sides to give up free speech cause you do not like what they are saying, think about it.
@FluffyStrings 1. Your own bible declares you should proselytize. Christians have a VAST network of methods for indoctrinating people. Even in AA they try to get you to put your faith in a god. You have entire channels on TV, massive churchs everywhere, endless books on faith, religious classes in school (in Ireland), millions of priests attending the sick and dying (handy way to influence wills), missionaries, etc etc.
@FluffyStrings I agree. But the reason why athiest get the shits with christians is cause we get sick of christian claiming we're gonna burn in hell. Maybe Christians should get off their high horse and stop judging every faith and creed. I'm not trying to pick a fight here. But there's a reason athiests are angry with christianity and muslims and mormons. They have absurd claims, no proof to back it up but then we get told we're gonna burn cause we find these claims absurd. So how's that fair?

Carbon dating has been calibrated with objects of known age and tree rings, it works

lilcharlief 1 day ago
@lilcharlief Carbondate it and tell me how old those dinosaur bones are. Are you a scientist? Evolutionists are afraid to carbondate bones because they don't want to be proven wrong. And what proof do you have of them being that old? Assumptions that you came up with by watching too many documentaries? If you don't know what it is, carbondating is telling how much carbon is left on a once living substance which tells how long ago it was when it died.
sidney3808 1 day ago
@sidney3808 exactly lol

TheSpiffyHarry 1 day ago
@sidney3808 carbon dating measures how much carbon-14 is left in a substance based on the half-life of the isotope. you have no proof that scientists are afraid to use carbon dating. in fact it is a very common practice for many fields of science, not just paleontology. basic high school chemistry teaches you how common this is, so either you were a very terrible student or you never went to high school, in which case i pity you for your ignorance

@garrge245
That's what I've been saying! Don't you hate it how these people just gloss over everything you say? They keep jumping topics, hoping to stump you, but they never address any of the points you bring up, drives me crazy!
TheSpiffyHarry 18 hours ago
@garrge245 What I'm confused on is, how do they figure that 60,000 years is the limit of carbon dating? It couldn't have been anything less? Christians believe that the world is around 2,000 years old. Many people in the comments might call me stupid for saying this but I'll explain why. We believe that God created every living thing as they are.
sidney3808 13 hours ago
@sidney3808 the limit lies at 60,000 years because after that amount of time, the amount of carbon-14 in any organism is too small to measure. there are other ways used to date things such as uranium-lead dating, which is most likely what they used to find how old this animal is. the half life of carbon-14 is exactly 5,730 years, which in itself proves that the world is older than 2,000 years

ShayneTheNavyMan 6 days ago
@ShayneTheNavyMan Radiocarbon dating is for fossils up to 40,000 years, actually. Potassium Argon dating is for fossils much older than 100,000 years. We've dated volcanic ash in Laetoli to be 2.9 million years old. And the bones of "Lucy," who's about the same age, then there's all the other places where fossils are dated to be over 3 million years old. I'm not sure about this 47 million years thing, though, considering how weathered and hard to find fossils from 3 m.y.a. are to find.

Eg is Pluto a planet?
smich007 1 week ago
@smich007 "You where there" lol. What the hell are you talking about anyway. There were no spaceships and there were no people riding dinosaurs. Why would scientists not retract bad information? If Pluto looked like a planet and then we realize it's just an ice-ball, why not retract it? Why do you say "science" has continually been retracting as if you are against science?
Trouter92 1 week ago
@Trouter92 oh no didnt mean to come across like that. What i was refering to was just because on a documentry there was footage of carvings of little men on dino beast and there was footage and books with the space ship pics etc and now a you-tube vid like this one stating whatever its stating and scientists estimating when the earth was born. im saying i dont believe such claims. science has not come far enough along to really be sure because science is also evolving. better?

Dino's could of been around 10-20 thous yrs ago.

@smich007 Man riding dinos: that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The Earth is 4.5 BILLION years old, get over it.

@VelveteenRabbitGirl "The Bible states..."
This is a fallacious argument before it's even begun if you lead with those 3 words.
"So who's to say that the world is young or old?"
Scientists are to say how old the Earth is, just as your cell phone provider is to say how your cell phone works. It's what they do. It's what they know.
SeedsOfHatred 1 week ago
@SeedsOfHatred Science only states what we know to be "true" up until something else is discovered that invalidates the theory or even law. The best scientists understand that all the knowledge we have gained is just a postulation of what is the most likely cause and effect of a certain phenomenon based on repeated experiments. That has been the case since people first started using the scientific method, to think it will change now cuz we're "so advanced" is a bit naive.
RageGRA 1 week ago
@RageGRA I didn't say it would change. I also do not claim that science knows all. I was simply stating that scientists know the age of the Earth because it's their job to know. They find the evidence, they test the evidence, they REtest the evidence, and it continues to yield the same results.
When evidence continuously fails to change, it stands to reason that we've found the answer.

ifoundyou37 2 weeks ago
@ifoundyou37 It's not just the stupidity on judging people though. It's more then that. I mean look at all the reasons why christians crack a shit. Over condoms, over vaccinations. I mean all these silly little things they reject which can lead to the prevention of diseases and christians say, "I'm gonna pray instead" and when they do pray and the guy dies because he didn't get the vaccine it's "It was his time" but if he doesn't, it's like "MIRACLE! IT'S A MIRACLE!"........
Demogorgon47 2 weeks ago
@ifoundyou37 ......by the way I'm not judging you man. You seem like a decent christian. But doesn't it ever bother you how backwards christianity can get on logical decisions? I know it drives me nuts. Not to mention atrocities like the dark ages retarded human technological progress. And despite all the evidence atheists have to prove evolution, many christians still won't listen. I think I'd be happy if christians accepted that they and their god CAN and sometimes ARE wrong, same as everyone.

FluffyStrings 3 weeks ago 2
@FluffyStrings 1. Your own bible declares you should proselytize. Christians have a VAST network of methods for indoctrinating people. Even in AA they try to get you to put your faith in a god. You have entire channels on TV, massive churchs everywhere, endless books on faith, religious classes in school (in Ireland), millions of priests attending the sick and dying (handy way to influence wills), missionaries, etc etc.
Atheists have YT to try and counter this damage.
AMomentOfClarity2011 2 weeks ago
@FluffyStrings I agree. But the reason why athiest get the shits with christians is cause we get sick of christian claiming we're gonna burn in hell. Maybe Christians should get off their high horse and stop judging every faith and creed. I'm not trying to pick a fight here. But there's a reason athiests are angry with christianity and muslims and mormons. They have absurd claims, no proof to back it up but then we get told we're gonna burn cause we find these claims absurd. So how's that fair?
