I'm not saying these riders are bad, I mean, they MADE it to this competition and some of them are REALLY good... But I think even Olympic riders need to learn to drop the reins sometimes.... Poor pony's mouth :'(

People clearly haven't ridden horse's that are at this sort of level or they wouldn't be complaining, horse's that show jump this high have a serious amount of power, you sit on one and you can feel it, it's as if every stride is like a car turning it's turbo boost on! These horses are dedicated to what they're doing, well, some, even more then they should to the point it gets dangerous, if rider's didn't hold them back, they would be in serious trouble and even causing serious injury, think.

this looks soo very difficult its exactly like the nexen Grad prix but with a slightly lower caliber of horses. but there are some very good rides in there. well done.

Girl on the black horse should have just retired; You could see the horse was just overwhelmed and stressed out.

My favorite was @ 0:43, where the horse tried to climb onto the bank. Got to have some gratitude for a horse like that! Goes on his knees and tries to propel himself up with his hind legs - wow! I'm glad his rider gave him a pat afterwards. He defiantly deserved it! :)

Always hated how bad of riders most of these people are, and the rein pulling....that kills me, but the thing I love the most is around 6:21 ish, they were bucking because they made it. (At least that is my thoughts). (:

very very very good video !! i hate the drop off that bank and i would hate to go near the end of the draw`as the hill would have already been distroyed so trying to find a good angle to slid down would be very hard

What are you on about?

You should respect all these riders and look up to them for just getting inot this competion - its not just a free for all. They made mistakes, yes, or they wouldn't have fallen or gotten into hot water, but you have to. You simply cannot judge riders sitting in front of a computer screen. Its pathetic.

Yes, thats what my father was saying. He thought it was disgracful that an international rider would re balance themself by leaning back on the reins. However it was a mistake - I supose hes human. However, I can't say it was the best riden round I've ever seen myself.

@aganstshiper I think what happened really the horse bolted forwards, whilst he was unbalanced so his weight was thrown back and of course he didn't have time to let go of the reins to prevent pulling on the horses mouth, and therefore was pulled back in the saddle again, or well, thats how i seen it. I really doubt an international rider would re-balance himself by risking his horses mouth. However, I think we should respect all these riders, their horses are no push button ponies!

geez that jump where they have to go up the hill, jump, practically halt after it, slide down the hill, and then jump again like after 1 stride would be hard as, no wonder most of them refused it!! lol nice vid. even the pro's make mistakes ppl so dont bash yaself up if you come off at pony club or something, these guys come of at international level, and just get back on!

its a derby, it combines showjumping type fences with a cross country type course and obstacles.

some of those things like going down the hill and then jumpping a jump looks really hard,

plus someof those horse look as though thier legs arnt long enough to get over the jump or up that viticle hil

Nope, he was so close from making it itnob the jump off, and this was his first time at the derby, and he messed up. I mean, he did amazing from his and for a first time! But he would ahev been in the jump off if it wasnt for the pole. It was the lkast jump in the course and all...

try to get showjumpers to act like eventers....lol, very good video, but I still think us eventers are best at the ditches drops and scary stuff.... I must admit though, there was some great saves there, top class riding (and falling) Great job xx :)

I love jumping but why are these people at professional levels yanking on the horses mouth all the time? Im not trying to offend anybody but for a horse having his mouth yanked every time it did something it would really hurt :(

ELlen was comong up the Derby bank, and I think the horse was just confussed about what he was to do. He started coming down the other side of the bank!

She did get him back up. She ddin't have a good week. She wasnt picked for the Olimpics and in her sencond round she got eliminated.
