Yes, I removed the strings and found that it fits me better since I'm not doing tremolo so often. Atleast it's worth to try, win some lose some.

I can play the guitar but i had to sell it ... i would like to buy a nice one but til i got it .. i think i can buy a mandolin .. dont u know some cheap but good mandolins?

Yes, I'm playing the cheapest semi-acoustic mandolin on the market, an Ibanez ($250 two years ago). The instrument is surely worth it's price, but I expect there to be much better instruments, although the quality increase comes with a higher price.
