i disagree with this one. who gives a rats ass about the scoring system at all anyway. the challenge of this game is simply to beat the game. ive played this game a bunch of times and finally beat it. and i dont give 2 shits what score i got. the graphics are spectacular. the firepower could have had more zazz and variety but it was adequate.

i also disagree with the fact that this guy says ikaruga is an easy game. you've gotta be like some kind of savant to get through that game in 1 ship.

@rocknrollfrenchfries So why do developers bother with scoring systems to begin with? Why does CAVE crank out games where you obtain 12- or 13-digit scores through all sorts of magic tricks? Would you say that their efforts are a complete waste of time and that they should just develop the same game over and over with different patterns and enemies?

@gs68 no. im just saying that border down in particular. is such a challenge just to beat that i dont even worry about the score (in this particular game).NOT THAT I DONT LIKE A SCORING SYSTEM OR THAT IT SHOULDN"T BE THERE. I just find border down challenging enough that I PERSONALLY dont even care about the scoring system but just to make it thru the game is hard enough FOR ME. to each his own. I didn't mean it should be this way or should be that way
