There are so few REAL technical mouse reviews that I really don't understand the complainers. I get that one might not like the background music but I'd take that any day compared to reviews which youtube is full of. Most of them present the specs list and impression and leave out the important stuff like max tracking rate, lift-off distance and prediction.
@lazzermusen your allowed to have that view. my view is that there are so many people posting videos of them unboxing the product and then just talking about all the facts which are attainable on the box or website. where as i talk about the important facts about the mouse that cannot be found printed by the manufacturer, such as perfect control speed and the exact weight without the cord etc. but then this is youtube, so i cant exspect every one to understand :)
@Johnbechilling Yes it's true !! Laser mice like Xai are not made to play on clothpad like this the Puretrack Talent laser mice are especially madeto be tough on hardpad
@LiquidusTalon im using the latest firmware, the mouse NEVER skips- alot of reports say it has 5- 10% +/- accel but i have a hard time noticing it (mybe iv played with this sensor for too long, idk)
@LiquidusTalon yep positive, im using latest firmware- iv changed my mouse to a intellimouse 1.1 due to the xai's laser sensor. Its not a bad sensor at all, it has AMAZING tracking speeds but the 5-10% pos/neg accel i feel is a skill cap after about a year of using it
Which mouse do you think will be better, the XAI, the g500, or the Roccat Kone Plus?? I also want to get a good mousepad for any of these so do you think QcK Heavy will be good for them?
@TiGeRKszO well its subjective but i PREFER the xai, then kone then g500- g500 has major issue with weighting (its front heavy) and accidental clicking. generally laser mice work better on hard surfaces, but i find the puretrak talent works well. QcK is a good mouse mat for optical mice :)
@Johnbechilling its down to preferance you know! also have you even tried the xai with the purtrak talent? i much prefer it to my other hard mats with the xai
from your experience, what would track better on the puretrak talent with a 47cm/360, the IME 3.0 or the Xai? I hear the Xai has positive accel on cloth pads, and the IME 3.0 has a negative accel/malfunction speed that seems low enough for me to hit even if OC'd to 500hz polling. thanks in advance :)
@CakeMongooSe i have a xai with puretrak talent and have about 13" for 360, i find the xai tracks better, as the ime has quite bad negative acceleration at such a low sensitivity. i would use the wmo but i find the negative acceleration too high for me- which has the same senser as the IME
@D4RKSL4Y3R123 ah I see. so by the making of this video, the positive accel issues have been completely fixed? or is there a bit still? I just returned a G500, which I believe also uses an Avago 9500, due to the insane positive accel I was getting on my puretrak talent pad, so i'm a bit worried about the Xai's accel due to the two sharing sensors.
@CakeMongooSe i find if any thing the xai has slight negative acceleration, although this could just be the laser skipping. i have herd alot of repots of people noticing postitive accel on the xai tho
@D4RKSL4Y3R123 do you think this sensor surpasses the DA 1800's sensor, in terms of tracking, and minimal acceleration? sorry about all the questions, i've gone through both versions of the DA, and the G500, and found the 3.5 DA and G500 with terrible accel, and the classic DA having a bit of positive, but manageable, and I dont wanna mess this one up =\
@CakeMongooSe hmm i had a da for a while but found i didnt feel 'connected' with the mouse if you get me, but it probly has the best tracking out of all those mice you mentioned, i just cant aim for shit with it haha. in terms of pos and neg accel with the xai i only notice it when i do say a 270 degree turn really fast- although you use a slightly lower sens than me. i certainly never find it affects my aim, although i think alot of it is subjective
@CakeMongooSe ask as many questions as you want! its a little longer and wider and quite alot taller, i have big hands and use a claw grip and found it a little too big, but if you palm girp you should have no problems :)
@D4RKSL4Y3R123 ah that's a suprise! but a good one, the DA is a bit on the smallish side for my hand, I palm grip and use my whole arm for the near 20'' 360 xP. I think im gonna go for it(the xai). I just hope I dont run into any accel problems, and I get a flawless one like you :D
@CakeMongooSe if you found the da too small the xai is even smaller! (i think you mis read my last post) im talking about the da here: its a little longer and wider and quite alot taller, i have big hands and use a claw grip and found it a little too big, but if you palm girp you should have no problems :)
Would you say this mouse is the best mouse you have used mate? best mouse i have used is the DA 1800. Mine died and since i had a G500 which i hated, a DA respawn which is totally dodgy. I had a roccat kone V2 which broke. I then got a roccat kone plus which died. Both track satisfactory however i felt the tracking was perfect. I also hated the weight of them. I just ordered a XAI.
@dmxdex i would defintly say this is the best mouse iv ever used! before this i used a g5, da 1800 and da respawn, then a g500. good luck with your xai! :)
good shit man this review got me to buy the mouse because ive heard so many bad things about this and i watched one other review that said to get it and its a great mouse thanks :D
@D4RKSL4Y3R123 hey, have you tried Exactsense ? look, turn your windows mouse sensitivity to default (i.e 6). then try to adjust your previous sensitivity through Exactsense ok, then check that is their any Positive or Negative acceleration left in your mouse? can you please answer thanks (sorry for my awful english)
Hmm I wish I could get my hands on one. It goes for more money on eBay for about 110 while the G9X (which I got for free) is a worth less than it. Now you went from a G500 (still pretty modern) I am coming from the first generation G5 (lets say around 2006?) and do you feel I should take the leap to this? I use a pad for my wrist generally when using a mouse do you find for gaming that keeping your wrist off of a surface is best for claw gripping? I plan on using this for pro gaming in Korea
@NickCarefoot i like to keep my wrist on my surface and use my fingers and wrist for small movements and use my forarm for large movements, i play fps's though, not sc2.
alot of pro SC players use the razer abysuss/user/Ramla777#p/u/4/0ziDyuZkwX4 or its older version the salmosa. its cheap and has a good optical sensor
Thanks for the review!
