  • I wait until it is turn off himself, maybe about 10-30 minutes and then no beeps, works, when turn on not every time display works, but and after apsolutely not work display not work. I thin very good video and ansvers to comments.

  • mine is the same but mine turns on turns of turns on turns of and all the time it does that how to fix that?

  • so this doesn't work on my computer as it shuts down automatically after one minute. what else can i do?

  • this happens to my alienware m17x very often, but the one problem i get is that it shuts down autimaticaly even if my power options say when i close the lid it will sleep, it is on charge all night and yet it is not supposed to close

  • I can't believe people are having the same problems as I've had with my old laptop. I don't know where you learned this trick on video but, it seems to work. Looks like the problem is that, the laptop is cold inside. I'm no expert but, this is what I believe.

  • This genuinely works! I spent £50 getting this problem fixed from a guy on ebay. It returned fine but after a few days I had it again! I followed this video but I also put it under my bed sheet so that it got very hot. It didn't work the first few times but after a few attempts it is now working fine. Just try not to turn your laptop off, it might be best to just put it to sleep when you don't want to use it.

  • this solution actually works . couldnt believe my eyes when the computer started again .

but i hope i can find an other solution soon that doesnt take me 5 minutes to start up the computer .

  • If you own a certain HP or Compaq model notebook or tablet, you may qualify for a free replacement notebook or tablet, courtesy of NVIDIA. But you need to FILE YOUR CLAIM BY March 14, 2011.

Check out my site, FAIRnvidiasettlement (dot) com for detailed info (this is a personal site with NO ADS, NO AFFILIATE LINKS). I am paying this site out of my own pocket because I am pissed that NVIDIA and Milberg LLP would resort to screwing their customers/clients.

  • Just did this...the miserable machine worked for the first time in one year! Now I will erase all my personal data and use it as a frisbee

  • Hi.....I don't know how or why, but this REALLY DOES WORK. Thanks a ton PepiSchmeichel :)

  • I dont know how or why, but this SERIOUSLY works. Thanks a ton PepsiSchmeichel :)

  • it worked. it is the heat that accumulates underneath the towels or whatever you are using. it may be the video chip or other chip that has to do with the monitor that needs heat on it. but it does work. when i am in a cold room, will not turn on. when in a warm room for about a half hour, turns on everytime. but when in a cold room, the towels do work. thanks.

  • dude, i looooooooove you :D

    it worked , yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

I'm goingto back up my data.

then I'll burn my fucking HP

    i fucking HATE it.

I'll buy a mac. FUCK YOU HP.

  • Hy all!

    Do not try it!!!!!!!!

    It is not correct!

The issue is on the VGA chip and NOT between on the motherboard and the VGA chip .The definitive solution the VGA chip(if have southbridge too)change!!!

I am a notebook serviceman so I know the truth.

    Bye!

  • @MrAlbi31 Yes is not normal to turn it on like this but it works and i`m doing it and the notebook is still working,1 year long.... !

  • @PepiSchmeichel

    Then it is a miracle.

    Regards

  • can i have it repair. iam from denmark:)

  • @TheFaton26 nope, sorry mate,i`m from Bulgaria, the only repair is changing the motherboard(expensive) and the other way is reflowing the gpu,and i don`t know how long is gonna last after that....

  • but can i have it repair? iam from denmark:)

  • but can i have it repair?

  • my Hp have the same problem but when i do it and when it work then its lagging

  • 110% works thanks dude

  • For how long do you keep it warm

  • thank you very muchhhhhhh

  • 3 beeps=memory error try re-seating your ram, it could have jiggled itself out

  • @gatewaysolo104 3 short beebs and 1 long and 2 short,it means video card error :(

  • @gatewaysolo104 1long and 2 short beeps - video card error :(

  • hp sucks..buy a mac instead....lol

  • @thegtagamer23 to much $ for a laptop ......... do you know what i mean ?

  • Mine makes that sound! How did you fix that?

  • @PhantomBrick i did not :( i do that every time when i need to turn it on :(

  • Failure in video system, An error was encountered in the video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered

  • @starfish20010 I know that ;)

  • for me its works but short,i wana know how long to keep in warm like this...

  • @TheArbro i have no idea, but i`m doing this for months and now i need to warm it more and more....... to start :( but still working :D

  • dude it worked...its been broken for like 2 months.. a lot of important stuff on it..thanks

  • the solution to this is that after ur computer dies likely it will never buy hp products again...

  • I had exactly the same issue with my DV2000. Instead of a heat gun, I wrapped it in a wool blanket for an hour or so.

When I booted up it worked. Problem for me is that I cannot shutdown/restart or else I go back to the three beeps issue

  • omg thank you! it worked!

  • This is just absurd! And it actually works. Jeez, you saved my laptop.

  • I have the same problem started last night. I am using hair dryer to heat the bottom of the laptop and bingo, it works after then.

  • We offer Video Repair for $69 including return shipping.

    Ebay item number: 260595095107

  • hey, can some tell me please whats the heat gun tratment?

  • @xelonth i can only tell you that you need to tear a part the laptop, and cover the motherboard with a foil, except the nvidia chip, witch you have to treat with a hair dryer( for example).

  • Hey, Could someone PLEASE explain the heat-gun treatment? What i shoud do, haev the same problem! Thank you so much! :D

  • it really works. i have dv6000 the same problem and it worked for me , unfuckingbeleiveable.

    thanks mate

  • That sucks. I've not had this problem with mine though. How old is your 6000 anyways? I've got a 6324us, that I purchased 6/2007. Mine's been pretty good with exception of the fan wearing out.

  • i got it august 2007,but i have the motherboard replaced once, because the wireless has failed.

  • this happened to mine too but it wasnt overheating. mine happend because the motherboard got wet. i would turn it on it would beep then shut off.

  • In my case the problem also is not the overheating

  • Ohh well I just got a new motherboard and it's fine

  • please share. how did you do it.

  • Huh... it really works :O

This is awesome, thanks a lot!
