@JD0x0 He had the rev limiter set conservatively since the motor was still fairly new. He later went back with it bumped up and shaved a couple tenths off.
That's incredible for a N/A miata motor. These motors are not like Honda's that have high compression ratios and advanced head and cam design that can be very competitive in N/A form. Like Anabolix mentioned, boost is more common to see since the car comes with very low compression ratios for an N/A motor. I was expecting this car to have at least some internal work. Impressive.
If you knew anything about the miata's engine you would know why. Miata engines are not meant to be N/A and they are small and extremely simple. The only way to really get a miata going is with forced induction, because the engine is originally for boost.
yeah that would have been a 13.90 if he would have hit 4th before it bounced off the rev limiter (or just raise the rev limiter to arround 8k instead of the stock 6700 and run through the traps on top of 3rd
Here is the Specs from this video: FujiRacing Individual Racing Throttle Bodies Stand Alone ECU from Japan 1 time tune and fuel map for a 1995. 1995 Low Compression Stock Bottom 1999 Non-Ported Head 1995 OEM/Stock Cams DOT Tires Car Weigh with Driver 2300 lbs. FujiRacing autocross/Touge Camshafts were just added in Sept.'07 and should break 13.5 1/4. o-60 launching at 3K RPM is 5.8 sec.
I wish I had the money to make my miata run like that. Sounds and looks like someone hit that thing in the back bumper with a baseball bat the way that thing launched.
sounds sick
