I understand why Jews are worried about preserving their culture. My feelings towards Israel are complicated but I applaud them for fighting for their people, tradition and culture. If only others had the backbone to do something like this i.e. a reminder to our less religious generation that you have a duty to respect and uphold the traditions, cultures, and religion of your forefathers. Keep the world unique and reject degenerate multiculturalism by standing up for your people.
I know this comment will get a bunch of thumbs down, but I don't care.
I personally agree. I'm an American Jew and I feel like Christmas is too over-exposed. There are always ten million Christmas songs on the radio and all us Jews have are the Chanukah Song by Adam Sandler and dreidel dreidel dreidel. And we don't even get off for Chanukah. And if we do, it's because of Christmas. So yeah, I agree that if you want your children to really feel Jewish, at least take them on a trip to Israel to
@bananas379 christmas has grown to be bigger than some particular religious event.
it is celebrated by pretty much everyone, it's become a global event.
for some it's the birth of christ, for some it's the celebration of midwinter. but only jews like yourself like to pretend that you must stay far away from these events because they somehow taint your religion. kinda pathetic...
@greymstreet1 well i don't really care what it has been dubbed. the holiday has been celebrated long before christianity. in my country the name is "joulu" indeed related to christianity now days, but the name doesn't exactly reflect anything about christianity.
one religion just "stole" a very popular holiday and branded it for themselves
As a supporter of both the US and Israel, I must honestly say, those ads were scummy and moronic, and luckily, most Israeli Jews agree with me on that.
So sad. They want people to come back because, the economy is also struggling and they need new thinkers. I read some where that they don't think American Jews are Jew enough.
I want to see that same ad but this time with the old couple skyping with the ghosts of their forefathers from the Baltic states, Russia, Poland and Germany giving THEM weird looks for talking in hebrew....
@1v4nDr4g0 And why would they be given weird looks for speaking in Hebrew, seeing as that is not a foreign language to the Jews, and when census figures show a large portion of the pre-Holocaust Jewish populations across Europe did speak Hebrew as their first language?
This is all over the news I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more views. At first I didn't get it, but after CNN explained it supposedly its offensive to American jews? I still don't find it offenive. However, there is no need in this day and age to isolate or distinguish ourselves with blatant nationialism, even if under attack, even if threatened.

LOL but I can't believe the Israel government would make this advert. Jews should embrace all festivals including Christmas.

Straign Chillin, heh..
In the ad it's "Sababa". Usually translates as - great, chillin..
Example:
- "how are you?"
- "chillin".
