  • These guys look 100% better than the guys today. Idk y they want o be giant mutants and freaks when they can be almost human statues and actually HEALTHY like these guys. The Golden Era has come and gone and its sad

  • A good bloke by the sounds of it

  • Bullshit they are not natural.. keep dreaming and believing everything you hear.

  • so it sounds like arnold is the first bodybuilder to use the roids, but i think park probably didnt use any up until his later years, if at all

  • anyone know what the music is?

  • lol, natural :D :D

  • if you have natural great genetics, you can push pretty far without juicing. look at ronnie coleman in the 97' olympia. he placed 15th and he was not yet juicing. look at the 98' olympia and you will see his transformation. even the annoncers were commenting, "what has happened to coleman in the past year"? well what happened was he took his physique as far as it could go up to 97', then with the help of modern chemistry, proceeded to destroy the competition for the next, what, 6 years or so.

  • @1skullduggery why do you think he was natural in 97? Unless you have something to quote i', very sceptical. I don't think anyone who competes in the Olympia is natural.

  • @biggmoneyme according to the commentary he was natural in 97'. i could be wrong, in which case i apologize....

  • the second guy to bench the elusive 500 pnds. he probably could have done more but the old wooden bench he was using was threatening to break !

  • Natural-perhaps not-who knows

Alas similar to Jack the Ripper

    we will never no.

  • I 1st saw Reg at the 1971 NABBA Universe at London's Victoria Palace..he was 42..before that it was only mags and in the few Hurcules flims he made..he was a great inspiration to me over the years...it would become some 20+yrs before I meet him once more this time sharing the stage in a seminar in 87/88...a legend and a true gentleman R.I.P Reg

  • You can't achieve something like that all natural, he used drugs they all did. Do you think Arnold in the 60s became huge only by working out and proper nutrition? The good about the Golden days of BB 70s mainly and back is that the steroid doses were milder not like todays out of this world drugs and cycles. If the drugs today were like the old days of BB I would use them for sure. Now I am scared taking them.. Why? Health first and second look todays BBs!!! Disgusting!

  • @sybnios dumb fool Reg Park was a bodybuilder before steroid and supplements were invented. Nobody badmouths Reg Park.

  • @Patriotaki1 Ignorance is the root and crown of any evil! In your case not evil just plain stupidity! 1st of all who badmouthed Reg Park? Just to educate yourself testosterone was first synthesized in the 1930's and was introduced into the sporting arena in the 1940's and 50's. When the Russian weight lifting team thanks, in part, to synthetic testosterone-walked off with a pile of medals at the 1952 Olympics, an American physician determined that US competitors should have the same advantage.

  • @Patriotaki1 By 1958 a US pharmaceutical firm had developed anabolic steroids. Although the physician soon realized the drug had unwanted side effects, it was too late to halt its spread into the sports world.

Early users were mainly bodybuilders, weight lifters, football players, and discus, shot put, or javelin throwers-competitors who relied heavily on bulk and strength. You're welcome!

  • @sybnios You are a moron and dont know shit youve never trained, lifted, and ate as rigorously as Park did to gain size and power. Reg had a huge frame dont forget and obviously great genetics in the strength department.

  • u th ink they had steriods back then and did they use em?

  • excellent tribute. the music went so well with the gallery.

  • Such a great music and composition with this -never die- legend!!!

  • Not really. It's because it was well known in the seventies when I started training, and also before I was born, by those with any knowledge. NOW it's in Wiki, because they were on the sauce, Pearl, Reeves, Grimek, Park, all the best boys were doing it while telling us all to drink gallons of raw milk.

  • @yessroman ....u r right bro...but they were not in mega dosages like todays...Just testosterone suspansion, dianabol and deca was on the market...just small dosages...not like today's non stop life killer cycles...lots of fresh protein(red meat, milk, whole eggs ect.)...lots of vegetables and some very basic supplements such as liver tablets or protein drink with cream shake...no Gh...No stimulants...and yeah, lots of brutal, hardcore, balls to wall free weight training!

  • @yessroman You are a naive fool if you think its impossible to get pretty damn big and strong without drugs.

    It IS possible.

  • @TheREGISMarkV So now I'm a fool? Because I dont believe you can get big and strong without drugs? Well that's kinda strange, bacause I AM big and strong without drugs, Einstein!

  • @yessroman You act like all they did was take DBOL and get huge. Reg ate enough food to feed a small country, trained hard and actually looked good- which is more impressive than a 300lb fat guy that brags about lifting almost twice their bod weight.

  • @TheREGISMarkV No I dont. I know he trained like a Tiger, as did all the best. But what he, and they indulged in out of a bottle, is no secret. It was around since the 30's.

  • @yessroman Im sure they used AAS, but Reg sure as hell wasn't a steroid addict who only trained if he was on them. He build most of his size and power naturally. And as he got older, he maintained the natural foundation he build and stayed big till he died. Back then they trained because they loved lifting weights. Steroids was just something to experiment with and was no big deal.

  • @TheREGISMarkV Yes, in your grandma's dreams...damn, you people think everyone is as naive as you are

  • Arnolds "physical role model" when he started his bodybuilding career.

  • steroids have been around since the 30s

  • @SuperKaratemaster This is correct. Since the 30's. Check Wiki. It's impossible that if Testosterone was isolated and synthesed way back then, that the best built guys in the world, weren't using it. Sure it was intended for burn and disease victims, but that's how it goes: Athletes get a hold of a new drug and really show what it can do. For sure the tea ladies and Artists weren't using it back then. It was Athletes and Bodybuilders.

  • @yessroman ya it is cuz i wiki it and read articles in magazines

  • didnt reg take joe wieder mega packs? i think thats how he got big

  • NATURAL MY ARSE !!!!

  • Wow, now I know why Arnold admired Reg Park! They both appear to have the same mass, but Arnold was more cut. However, Reg has that strong look, like Franco did. I tend to think he was natural

  • no1 can replace arnold de gr8

  • rest in peace Mr. Reg Park. On this steroid issue there is know facts for steve reeves to be natural but not of reg park. As much as I hate to hear it...maybe he was taking something. But you can't blame him, for it was legal back then. It was just like another very good supplement(drug). R.I.P.

  • music?

  • Great video and a Great bodybuilder that i'm not wondering why he was Arnold's idol.Rest in peace Reg!!

  • gregjocka1001

  • he is as big as a juiced arnold...he is more impressive than jim cordova...he was NOT natural

  • why does this lame roids issue keep going? are people really too dumb to read? steroids are great like all drugs.

  • False. Park was natural. Do your research and learn some history before making quick judgements.

  • @gallaman1 well said

  • @bronbiased pause it at 3:16 and honestly tell me that Reg is as large as Arnold in this picture. Reg had an extremely blessed mesomorphic frame, a massive rib cage, wide shoulders, plenty of type II fibers, and incredible amounts of natural power that allowed him to peak out his genetics and be one of the greatest naturals of all time. NATURAL. American bodybuilders did not know of steriods before 1954. I can give you the article to read if you would like. Get your facts straight.

  • Reg Park was truly fantastic at the beginning of his career, but in '58 and '65, he really didn't look that impressive. Don't believe me, take a look at old issues of Muscular Development or Iron Man, and the pictures will verify what I' m talking about. Very soft and lacking the hardness evident earlier. Even Joe Weider stated that Reg overbulked, and was never able to achieve the condition he displayed in the early 50's. Job7456 was right, Reeves and Pearl were superior to Park!

  • Pearl and Reeves were not greater than Park! Park won the Universe 3 times, and he could have won it a LOT more than that, but he chose to compete once every 7 years. He won in 1951, '58 and '65. Park did not use steroids. Steroids came about after Zeigler got Ciba to make his Dianabol formula in 1964.

Park got huge and strong after developing his now-legendary "5x5" program. That program has built more muscle bulk and power on bodybuilders than any other because it flat works.

  • hello .. he is agreat bodybuilder but he was'nt anatural

  • Bob Kennedy" He did it steroid Free, he wasn't taking steroids, yet he was going up against, later on after 1965 or so, against people who were on quite a signifigant amount of steroids" -Reg park : the Legend Biography

Davd Webster Jon Jon Park, Wag Bennett, amongst others making the same statements.

I personely think your disrepsecting his Memory and everything he stood for by making claims that he was a steroid user.

  • Yes, Reg park was gifted. Why is it so hard to believe? IF you took a Malnuished person and gave them the best food, they would put on weight rather quickly. He Stated, Reg park that is, that he added 40lbs in a year after Getting leaving the army, better food and discovering his 5x5 routine( to paraphrase). You really don't know a thing about him. But again, You think what ever you would like. I would suggest you read or watch is biography though.

  • HE Aslo wasn't insainly big, He was a large man, 240lbs at one point I read, but he wasn't ripped to shreds at 240+lbs like todays, with 23" arms and 36" legs 240-280lbs at 3%bf. By the standards back then he was a giant, but He was a dedicated and geneticly gifted guy. IN the end Its to each owns thoughts. I know he didn't take them, If you knew the man, there would be know question of it.

  • @steveninthematrix Reg was natural. But you can believe what you would like.

  • Reg Park and steeve reeves were natural Bodybuilders. I would stake my life on that. They ate well and trained smart. Its not impossible

  • Reg Park was Natural. So was Steve Reeves, John Grimek, Clarence Ross, George Eiferman, etc... The 40s and 50s were The Golden Era of Bodybuilding.

  • @JohnnyElvis1935

    loooolllll

buddy u have no idea when steroids came into bodybuilding scene it started in late 40s it started first with dianabol and winstrol later they made testo enantat und cadaver growth hormone arnold took them too.

  • @JohnnyElvis1935

Was Mike Mentzer natural? I keep on seeing different opinions.

  • @CFH320 he may have been early on, but at his peak, probably the 1980 olympia, he had to be juicin' like everyone else. you can't compete at that level and expect to win without it; especially if all your competion is doing it. it probably wasn't in doses some of todays knuckleheads use, though, in an attempt to maximize what aint that impressive genetically to begin with. its like when a great band takes acid to further creativity. it only works when you have the talent to begin with.

  • @CFH320 i very much doubt metzner was not juicing, i think he gave his body to much it could handle, including roids,
