A federal jury recently rejected a Coeur d'Alene man's claims of excessive force by police related to a May 2008 traffic stop in which he was shocked with a Taser several times.
Jurors found that Coeur d'Alene police Officers Jonathan Cantrell and Timothy Neal did not use excessive force when they arrested DeLoyd Scott.
They also ruled that Cantrell had reasonable suspicion to stop plaintiff Conrad Steele and search his vehicle.
Unfortunately for the people in this video they are suffering from a little bit of knowledge being a dangerous thing. "Scott" is correct he doesn't need to provide ID until he is being detained. However, IF he is being detained he can state he is going to remain silent and wishes to speak with an attorney. He cannot resist arrest. He has to submit and let his attorney fight it out.
The police in this instance can confiscate the recording as evidence because it is. Use removable media.

B) There is a tangible threat that he will be attacked by a camcorder that has been converted into a weapon. An interesting thing happened to friend of mind in Philadelphia. He lives, and works in Center City. So he usually rides his bike, and uses public trans. If he drives he uses his wife's car. So he goes out one night, and the police are down the street from him. He pays them no attention, just rides on. All of the sudden another car pulls up, unmarked. The police headquarters he was detained for 24 hours. Once he was released an officer remarked. Should always have your id, and next time you will not be hassled. This was four years ago, he filed a complaint. It went no where. By the way forgot to mention his money disappeared.

@usernasc3974 If you are not operating a MOTOR vehicle, you are NOT legally required to carry ID or show it to the police if you have it, it doesn't matter if they suspect you of something or not.
The ONLY time there's an exemption to that rule is if you have a Concealed Carry permit and are carrying your weapon legally. You have to carry your permit and ID with you at that point.
Just because a cop says "it's law" doesn't mean it actually IS law, as YouTube has proven, cops can be liars.

B) There is a tangible threat that he will be attacked by a camcorder that has been converted into a weapon. Personally, I've never heard of anyone being attacked with a camcorder or a weapon made to look like a camcorder. Although I think that I saw some guy conceal a pistol in a camera one time. I think it was one of the Lethal Weapon series.

Id much rather live in a place like Canada or Australia, Ive been to Australia and love it, you don't here about dick cops over there.
Here it just seems like any murderer, rapist, thief, deviant, sociopath, or sadistic asshole with no criminal record can put on a act and get through police academy.
They violate any law they want and always get away with it. Whether it be something like violating someones 4th amendment, or murder. THEY GET AWAY WITH IT NO PROBLEM.

Certain public places have banned the use of cameras such as mass transit systems, courthouses, capital buildings, secured government buildings, jails or prisons unless you obtain written permission
You can't film or photograph if it interferes with police, fire, medical or emergency operations

@Pafoofnik1 A camcorder does transmit video through wire into a computer system and it was then uploaded to youtube. Plus the video takes place in Coeur D'Alene which is in Idaho so they are bounded to it. It's a tort at minimum though... So I mean, they could sue if they wanted.
