  • thank you for your comment. Jamuna is such an inspiration for me. She was hit by a truck at the age of 7 and lost both of her legs....no one in her village thought she should have the opportunity to attend school, but her father did! She had to overcome such difficult obstacles.

  • inspired by your interview, every people must learn from her...

  • Hi Cecile! We have several small programs supporting children with deafness and blindness in several rural village schools. Also, I do work with Rotary International and many Rotary clubs in Nepal focusing on changing the negative perception about people with disability. This social marketing campaign is currently piloting in 7 districts of Nepal, both rural and urban. We are looking for funding to take the template nationwide. Let me know if you have any leads on funding….

  • great interview, great job - and what do you do to reach the village people?

  • Life can be difficult for people with disability in a society like Nepal. Through TRIFC.org we are providing educational opportunities and awareness of how "able" someone with a disability is....they aren't 'disabled', just 'differently-abled".

  • That's awful. How do those born with disabilities go on? Life is hard enough without prejudice from ignorant people.
