My dad has looked for any film of Tavern cars for many years and is VERY excited to find this film. He used to go on The Jolly Tar! So evokes many memories with his father. Can you tell me where this film came from please and if there is anymore? Hed love to keep a download of his own? Many thanks.
Used to sit in here with Mum & Dad when they went from Bournemouth To Southampton , Hated them as you couldnt see out of the Windows ....there werent any !!!!!!
In those days of packed solid trains only place you could find a seat was in here , cause no one else would sit here !!! Was a small window along the top but you couldnt see out ,especially if you were a kid, like me. Not for the Claustophobic ,He,He !!

Union Pacific had some cars like this on its "City of Denver" in the late 50's--I wonder if these were the inspiration?

Quite so, Jeanniedee, and you weren't alone in not liking them as they proved so unpopular that all were rebuilt within a few years.
