This show has to return! Now with the Internet as a storage device and a source of info, ANY tune can come up, and people should be aware of the many genres of music.
once i had a lead, i would've hit the buzzer as the first note played, say i don't know, and make the other guy try to catch up on it by trying to name it after me.
Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like Les...I mean, I give him credit for the comeback, but he just seemed a bit too self-absorbed...I remember him nearly making Tammy Warner cry.
@WillWatchAnything It's like celebrating New Year's Eve in the studio. I remember seeing that show when it was on USA which was uncut, I didn't like the edited version when Family Channel (now ABC/Family) removed the prize plugs. This is even way better than that edited version.
i,ll say something. the Americans know how to give prizes.

@excelsior27 I know their is talks about it coming back but for now its Live shows in Vegas

@excelsior27 The problem is getting music licenses, which is partially why you don't see this show syndicated much anymore.

@uofmrules1 You're right, and to hear how sensitive music companies are-they were the ones that vainly backed SOPA and PIPA.

Back then they knew how to drop balloons and confetti.

I love Les so much that I married him 21 years ago. He's actually the kindest and funniest guy on the planet.

@the4goulds You're kidding...Les Gould in the finals here is your spouse?
mtiller2006 1 year ago
@the4goulds At least you didn't marry "Sweet Alfred" Bogdalioff from one of the pilots...
Still, I'm glad you and Les have been married for long. Wonder if you'll make it to the silver anniversary. :-)

@the4goulds Wow! Cool!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't like Les. He seemed so full of himself.
It's one of the very few times when I was disappointed to see a comeback like that. :P

This was also the last tournament of the 1984-85 season.

@whirliebird74 Could this have possibly been the last taped show of the series?

@cag1970 Well, he was quite obnoxious and over-dramatic, but be glad he wasn't "Sweet Alfred" Bogdalioff from one the pilots...
gshowguy 1 year ago
@gshowguy , I don't remember Alfred at all...But Les has stuck with me a long time...
cag1970 1 year ago
@cag1970 cool245flashmail has Alfred's episode up. Trust me, you're gonna dislike him. A lot.
gshowguy 1 year ago
@gshowguy , I just saw the screenshot. I DO remember Alfred. And yes, he was much worse than Les. Oh boy.
cag1970 1 year ago
@cag1970 I do too. In fact it even put a damper on my whole day while watching the rest of the USA afternoon lineup.
BriSchwa82 1 year ago
@BriSchwa82, I can believe that...I think I'd rather watch a full day of Les than five minutes of Alfred.
cag1970 1 year ago
@cag1970 Didn't even shake hands with the loser. But maybe it was all the confetti......
