You may be a really good person fighting an addiction, but there is one thing I know for sure... if you aren't now, you will at some point be a huge burden on society because of your weight. The stress of all that weight on your joints, diabetes, heart disease, etc- who is going to take care of you and pay for your care? If you end up in the hospital, PEOPLE will have to LIFT you... people like me who end up hurting themselves because it's not normal to lift a 300, 400, 500lb person.
@erigais I chose a job that allows me to help many people. It's not fair to me to carry an extra burden because someone chooses not to help themselves. Most nurses are regular women, not male bodybuilders, and it's not reasonable to expect us to lift and carry 300-500lbs. Problems like this add to the burn out rate and you and everyone else in this country will suffer in the coming years when there aren't enough people like me to take care of you.
I'd love to know you, it's true that I probably never will, but I bet I'd like you.
You don't judge, you have an open mind, you're smart and funny and you really seem to be a wonderful and cool guy. Millions struggle with addiction - almost always due to other issues. Alcoholics know they are at higher risk for liver disease just as food addicts know they are at higher risk of heart disease.
