@danielross85 because birds are desendents of dianosaurs or related to dinosaurs in some weird way but im in my teen years and using a kids television show still teaches more than school does
@gamerzx10 I was joking dude. dont believe everything youre told. to think this is related to a dinosaur defies common sense and logic, remember, so much they teach in school as "fact" is still just theory.
@danielross85 Yes ,its a true fact birds, turtes alligators, crocs, and many living species living today ARE RELATED TO DINOSAURS. Respect them, they have been around alot longer than MAN.
@TheMorganabanana No, it's a myth. You can touch the babies all you want (Carefully!). Birds have no sense of smell, so how would she know a human has touched the baby?
AWWWW! its little wings and how it stumbles...how could someone think this is ugly? Humans are born with weird...goo all over them! Nobody is born americas next top model, you know...
I'm getting freak'n.... cuz my lovebirds we're fighting my female always bite the male on the tail part... O.o for what cuz the female do that?? is she gravid??? what is the solution for my problem??
@AngelEmfrbl I can assure you that this is the day after it hatched, making it one day old. I have nothing to gain or lose by stating otherwise. What you are seeing is the beginning of down feathers. @pal0m1n0 ...i would like to know how you have hand feed this chick after you have remove it from its parent. Kindly do me a reply or send me an email on ismail.abdool@yahoo.com
@pal0m1n0 TRUE!! they are born w/ tiny feathers as you are born w/ tiny hair on you. COOL!!! I have raised many budgies & cockatiels for 20 yrs.cockatiels can live 35 yrs if taken care of correctly. These birds are not ment to be caged their whoal life. They need to fly every day.If raised from a chick you can open their door. Thet will come out and play when the sun comes up then return home when the sun goes down. When they trust you, they will show unconditional LOVE for life.
It's like a tiny squeaking dino-zombie monster of cute! O____O But I can't get the image out of my head of a 70-foot-tall one stumbling around a city. Breathing fire.
@jefflovesmegan Actually that is a myth for most birds. There are some birds who will abandon a nest at the drop of a hat. In any case, his parents continued to care for him very well.
@pal0m1n0 Haha I said the sameee thing! Old wife's tale, nothing more. Granted though, parent birds of any kind, domesticated or wild, don't like when you pick up their kids. I had three baby budgies hatch, success, they all grew up, it a spitting image of their parents. And I picked mine up not frequently, but enough to clean off their beaks and socialize them. I got lucky, my budgie, Aurora, was a fantastic mother, a senior one and the clutch was an accident, but she did an amazing job.
@jefflovesmegan that is a myth =p many birds do NOT abandon their chicks, & if they do **if u have another pair of 'mating' keets, or just a very close pair** you can adopt them into THAT family. Birds in captivity... especially keets... are very versitile because they are a 'flock&/family' kind of bird. They inter weave & care 4 each other =) & pal0m1n0, your baby keet is precious... i just lost my 7 month old 2 a neurological problem on Friday. ='( i hope s/he is as beautiful as her momma ^_^
I didn't think it was ok to pic up the babies like that. we just let mama do her thang, and one they got pushed outta the nest we trained them to be hand friendly.
one of the most incredible things on earth, the proof of God's existence :) look at how small it is. :) and to know that this thing is alive, has a big system inside, i mean i think it is so amazing its like a miracle to watch him, his little wings and tiny head moving this baby chick is so adorable.. :))
lol he has already mastered the PECK HAND THAT FEED HIM he is the chosen one who will unite all birds agenst us he must be destroyed befor he teaches his brethren !!!
It was harder to pick up. I needed to hold firmly enough to not drop him and not too tight so as to squish him. I am also sticking my hand into a box and have to work by feel since I can't see him with my hand in the box.
my female budgie died one week after hatchings eggs and the father refused to look after the babies so i am doing the job instead.what and how should i do it in order that they become healthy
awwwwww hey can u help me my budgie was so friendly to us then it got loose and we got it in the cage and now its not liking me too much and i had her for 2 months can u help
@LittleChocolateFairy Do you mean to say inbred? If so, what makes you say that? It is a perfectly normal looking chick, I doubt that you can tell if a chick is inbred just by appearance.
@canababe23 Assuming you really mean 1 day old. Very cautiously and not for long at that age. You have to be very careful in how you pick it up. You don't want to crush anything. There is no real need to pick them up that young, but some breeders check their feet and beaks everyday for build-ups of dried food, etc.
