  • I even forgot this piece of music , i was listening to some bruce faulconer music from DBZ and suddenly i'm here , Makes me so happy , and i'm sure that this will sound better and better as i will get older...

  • Beautiful game

much better than GS DARK DAWN

  • lovey song

  • <3

  • WIN! =D

  • yeah i remember this game, it was pretty good i gue- BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH WAHHH WAHHH WAHHH T_T

  • I beat this game. Can't remember a god damn thing about it... but I do recall this music.

  • Even back when I played this back in the day this song filled me with with feelings I cannot quite explain. It feels like mix of Nostalgia, sadness and peace at the same time

  • @malkav616 story of my life. what other games did you play

  • @thevisi0naryy From the series? I did play the lost age and it its great but I haven't gotten around to play the DS one

  • @malkav616 The new game is... both good and bad. It isn't horrible, but it doesn't compare to Golden Sun and The Lost Age by any means. Considering they had almost 10 years between the games, the new one should have been blow-your-mind amazing, but it wasn't. The biggest issues with me in the game were that there's points of no return, and you get relatively little exploring time; the game tells you where to go next instead of letting you figure it out... I'd still recommend it to anyone though.

  • @XfishX That's the state of the game's industry today. They asume we're all idiots who can't figure out where to go without a big flashing message on the screen. But as soon as I get my DS back i'll play it and see for myself

  • @malkav616 lol! Wait til you see the big flashing message on the screen... At some parts, it literally IS big and flashing! Definitely play it for yourself! Despite the bad, it still is a very good game!

  • @XfishX well thats a bit too much here. it's your responsability to take your time and explore, which I did in this game as much as in the other ones. as soon as they tell me to go somewhere i do the opposite and explore every places except the "next destination". dark dawn had more explorinf than broken seal but a bit lesser than lost age. and yes the point of no return were not that bad xcept for the 1st one that can't be worked around.

  • @XfishX wrong you could return thanks to the great bridge glitch...

  • @XfishX fail thats not cheating it'scalled glitching its included in gamewithout any mod. just like gs2 glitch to access the old gs1 map when landing on the right coast....

  • @malkav616 same here it evens bring memories when I was more kiddy when I had a gameboy advance and could not stop playing golden sun 1 XD and thats an awesome feeling

  • @CastlevaniaDude1 How I miss rpg´s with music like this

  • @CastlevaniaDude1 Yeah those where the days. Oh the nights of gaming under the sheets so my parents wouldn't know I were playing late at night or taking it to school and playing under the desk. This song really takes me back

  • Nostalgia... T_T

  • FOREST WAS SO GOD DAMN CONFUSING OMG. I began hating the music because I was stuck in there for an hour, just pushing logs around like a bum. 10 years later..I miss it all

  • @hyperzyph64

Vote up for pushing logs around like a bum.

  • Saving Tret.

    Who could forget that?

    Then Mogall Forest, ahh...

    God Damn-It!

I may only be-a-kid, but, this game in undeniably awesome!

  • The stories in these games are just amazing, I mean seriously you can't get better then this D: and like.. the characters are so loveable... Issac barley talks and he's like the coolest ever. xD

  • the best rpg's :

    Earthbound

    Chrono trigger

    Golden sun 1

  • @Ledrsx Don't forget Xenogears :D

  • @Ledrsx Dont forget dragon quest 8 :3

  • Always reminded me of Valkyrie Profile. That game had awesome music.

  • the kraken kill me soooo many times in this game... really good rpg :D

  • sound orgasm

  • You need to post more tracks from this game in future entries Supra. It definitely deserves it. As many say, it was one of the best games to grace the GBA

  • eaeaea!!! al fin encontre esta cancion !!! =D que juegaso el golden sun!!! xD

  • This is a great theme, very memorable.

Has a baroque sound to it. :D

I'm glad to see some arrangements of this great piece!

  • Must be the best and most beautiful game song ever made, Golden Sun for now and for ever <3

  • Best RPG? Yeah... the best Rocket Propelled Grenade ever created...

  • @Lancealot180 Role Playing Game lol! But the first two Golden Sun games would have made great rocket propelled grenades, because the enemy would stop attacking and play them xD

  • im sad that the newest version of the game is so cartoony, like the first two games were just right for me, like they were cartoony a little bit, but in a 2-D sense, i dont want badly drawn 3D anime characters =/ so i wont be buying the new game, but i will always love and cheris the greatness that is golden sun =)

  • Now you know why I love forest stages.

  • love the part at 0:45

  • Golden Sun for the DS is kinda bad. They didn't put anything new to the table, EXCEPT ONE NEW SUMMON. Also, I hate Tyrell.

  • @Reinko96 What makes Golden Sun the game that it is was not just the gameplay but the compelling story, the addittion of the simple styled RPG gameplay makes a succesful formula for them to use, and besides most games continue to be played because of this, for instance: Final Fantasy. If they change the gameplay, the franchise itself might topple over and die. Seiken Densetsu fell, it's not quite dead yet though. I feel that if Camalot had changed it too much, they likely would have lost fans.

  • Oh my god, what a relaxing music!

  • Jeez I hate how lame the new golden sun is compared the the gba ones. The new one is just plain bad, and too easy.

  • @bonitachika792 or maybe ur too good :)

  • @bonitachika792 3rd one wasn' that much easier... you simply have gained alot more experiences playing the 1st two game. Dark dawn was around the same difficulty as lost age. i admit that broken seal was the hardest one. dark dawn was a nice upgrade compared to the 2st two. in term of items and battle system(stella wolf and new classes and psnergies and also weapon mastery)

  • @Atstyle

Question, does the third one follow the first two storylines?

And can you transfer your data from the second game to the third? Just like you could from the first to the second.

  • @JizzMasterPino 3rd one do follow the first two game as they(GS1 and GS2) were prologue to the main story which start with Dark dawn. You can't transfert data as there is no need to. It's a whole new generation of adpets, the game takes place 30 years after the event of the lost age.

  • The best FF in my opinion:

    1-FF7

    2-FF10

    3-FF12

    4-FF8

    5-FF9

  • @Xehanort34 Man, have you ever played any FF before 7?

  • This series has great music. :) It reminds me of the classic 90's games. I'm playing Dark Dawn and I love the soundtrack. I'd like to see more Golden Sun tracks on your list in the future. :)

  • I feel awful for the 1 guy who was deaf. I wish you could of liked and heard this piece of musical genius too :(

  • 1:16 is the best part, almost makes me cry at this moment, so much feelings...

  • cancion preciosa dulce suave y delicada ademas de ser un gran juegazo

  • must... find... my... game

  • I'm a great fan of FF and video games but I really feel like this game is not enough known despite it's quality. Life's unfair.

Sorry for my english also, it's not perfect.

  • I remember when I was 7 and looked at this game in a nearby local game shop window. Saved money until I had the 20$ bought this game and lived happily ever after until I beat Golden Sun 2. Oh, and the music is so....emotional. Freaking love it.

  • I lost my copy of Golden Sun :*(

    Emulators, here I come!

  • This is literally my favorite game

  • Wha, ignored? That's clearly not true. Besides, these were fine games that were dense with everything an RPG fan could want, but I don't know about best. So many to pick from.

  • @Kelvinian Well he does have a point, even though there seems to be a large amount of fans for Golden Sun it doesn't seem to get the recognition and respect it deserves especially compared to other games like Final Fantasy because Golden Sun is as every bit as good.

  • This game is a masterpiece! Im so happy that I found this game :)

  • Epicness @ 0:46

  • Colima is a state in Mexico LOL

  • They should totally make a music box fron this song. Btw golden sun 3 will be EPIC!

  • so many memories..

  • best. handheld. rpg. ever.

  • REJOICE, ALL WHO HAVE WAITED!!!

    GOLDEN SUN: DARK DAWN COMETH!

  • @Windclaw

When, dammit? I need a date, not a declaration. :\

  • Not my fav track from the game, but definetly one of the best.

    Golden Sun Forever!

  • I bought this game, knowing nothing about if it was good or not. With no chance of refund, I took the chance. Oh boy what I would've missed if I didnt take that chance.

  • @Senjan

My experience exactly. That would have been a true shame.

  • @Senjan

    This. (:

  • besides ocarina of time, this game has one of the best soundtracks

  • I remember when I first played Golden Sun, I was sucked into it instantly. Sadly, I lost the cartridge somewhere =( Don't know how far exactly I was in the game, but I was at the collaso thing.

  • This is the best game I 've played in my life.

And I've been playing this and TLA since they came out.

Dying from anxiety for Golden Sun DS

  • best gba game and rpg game ever

  • golden sun destroys most games on its soundtrack , this is extremely epic , every piece of it , every music

  • great game, thogh i was really disappointed with the ending.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly Agreed. Definetly among the best of the best!

  • I had forgotten how great of a music this game has

  • Just looking through some of your old videos Darky. Really glad to see this one made the list; I loved GS's music.

  • People say this is the best RPG for a handheld, and I agree.

I also consider it one of the best RPG's in general, if not the best.

Dismissing the tech. available on the GBA, pretend it was set on a console or something - compare that then to any great RPG, like Final Fantasy, or Lost Odyssey, or Fable, even... It ranks up there if not at the top for me.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly Totallly Agreed Man ;) Golden Sun Series Are IMO The Best RPG EVER CREATED =D

  • @gyrotuffjonykirby i agree

  • @PleaseDieQuietly

actually the fact that it was made for the GBA makes it much more impressive. The way they used the system was amazing, they pushed it to the absolute limit.

Golden Sun is impressive not only gameplay and story wise, but also technically wise.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly except for the low difficulty and you can't do all that much with the millions in cash, all round good audio and storyline though , fun but not 10-10 more like 8-10 score

  • @PleaseDieQuietly I have to admit this was a great RPG but it was lacking in character depth. I wasn't given a reason to care for anybody in the party despite the heavy dialouge.

  • @JustAUsername13 Really? I can't disagree more! The depth of the characters was one of the highlights of these games. I mean, right from the beginning of the game we're thrust into this world full of life, history, and emotion. Even though they speak in often annoying squeaks, the game goes into a lot of depth regarding them. I can't think of any character that doesn't have a lot of story to them. I would go into infinite detail about each character's significance, but alas, limits suck balls.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly I guess it varies. Personally I felt more empathy towards the characters of Mother 3 despite their lack of dialogue, I felt something special that I didn't find in the playable characters of Golden Sun (and fyi, the special part is not from being a woobie).

  • @JustAUsername13

I had the same feeling. Currently I'm playing FFIX, and the way characters are introduced and evolving is something that Golden Sun is lacking.

  • @Mathiasvandenberge

    oh 9 is a masterpiece!

I remember playing gs at the same time a friend played 9

characterwise you can't deny ff9 (quina, eiko, vivi, dagger.......)

I still love those characters more than any of ff's chars!

  • @PleaseDieQuietly Golden Sun is better than any RPG on the current gen.... it is on top of my top games ever created... next to kingdom hearts and Suikoden 2

  • @PleaseDieQuietly I absolutely love Golden Sun. I got it as soon as it came out and I played it from glorious start to oh so satisfying ending.

That being said, no. Golden Sun does not compare to Final Fantasy. Golden Sun is not better than Omnislashing Sephiroth, Kefka destroying the world, or Kuja casting Ultima. Golden Sun, however, is better than Lost Odyssey or Fable. By far. Golden Sun is definitely a great game. But sadly, not as good as my personal favorite top 10.

  • @genesisSOC I think because that FF has such a huge fanbase and background to it makes it better. I'm biased though, the only console FF game I've ever played was XIII, and I was horribly dissapointed. I was one of the very few 90'2 kids that grew up without FF. I had Zelda, however. :D

Golden Sun has many flaws, but for what it does, it does very, very well. That's why it's so great!

I love Lost Odyssey, and I can't compare either of them.

    I love them both.

Fable has also gone to shit.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly FF13 is a horrible, disgusting disgrace. There hasn't been a proper FF since FF10. If you ever want to play a real FF, I recommend FF6 and FF7.

  • @genesisSOC Haha!

Yes, I have heard that a lot from people; newbies and die hard fans alike!

I didn't even finish it, it's a very boring game. Attractive, but so, so shallow.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly I feel like FF13 was made to be focused on all the FPS trollfag fans that are like 360/PS3 HALO/COD ONLY EVERYTHING ELSE IS GAY and it ruined FF.

  • @genesisSOC

    Or ff8, 9 and 10 (even 10-2) ;)

  • @lenethvalkyrie Actually FF8 was kinda' bad 'cause of the junction system, but I absolutely loved the story and plot. 9 was fantastic, definitely the third best of the entire series. 10 was actually really really good, while linear, it was still better than 2, 5, and 8. 10-2 yeah, I agree, terrible. 11 is actually really awesome (better than WoW IMO) but, well, even though it has a great story, it's an MMO not an FF. 12 should've been a spinoff with the Tactics series.

  • @genesisSOC how can FF8 be bad because of the junction system if Golden Sun djinn' system is so similar to it?? c'mon, i'm not saying they're one of a kind, but they're very similar, IMHO

  • @lightignakelloyd In FF8, you had to spend hours and hours and hours drawing and stocking magic from each and every enemy, never to use it, but only to put it onto your stats. In Golden Sun, you just put the same elemental Djinn you found onto their respected character and learned new magic as you naturally leveled up, without having to spend hour drawing and stocking it from every monster, and could use it freely like in any other, good and proper, RPG. That is far from similar in every aspect.

  • @genesisSOC i grabbed the main meaning of the system, linking yourself to a spiritual being in order to become stronger

  • @lightignakelloyd The main meaning, what it's intended to be on paper, and what it actually is/how it actually works, in practice, are two completely different things. It was a new and cool idea on paper and was intended to make managing your characters and magic/summons easier and different, but in practice, it was a total fail and completely ruined the game in every single way.

  • @genesisSOC that's your opinion, i respect it 150%, however, it's still your opinion, and not a fact, personally i liked it, and if it doesn't work for you, it's your problem, not the game, because the game is always the same, people just receive it and feel it in many different ways, goor or bad, and also, how can it ruin the game, if you took away something from ff8 or any game in the world, then ff8 or whatever game it is dies instantly, and this is also applied to any mechanism in any game

  • @lightignakelloyd I don't think anyone likes sitting in the same battle for over 10+ minutes doing the same command over and over again drawing magic. Squall's turn, Draw, Stock Cure. Do that over and over and over until you have 100 Cures. Squall's turn, Draw, Stock Thunder. Do that over and over and over again until you have 100 Thunders. That's not some opinion, it's a fact. No one liked that. No one has ever liked that. No one ever will. It ruined the game completely.

  • @genesisSOC i have 100 cures, 100 firas fires and stuff, i love it i have a collector spirit, or are you implying that I'm too stupid and that's the reaso i like it? are you suggesting that I'm anormal? because you know my friend, that you're starting to irk me, with you "no one liked that, it ruined it", keep this in your mind, I liked it, okay? I did, and I'll always do, if what you say would have been true in any dimension, FF8 would have been named as the worst game ever, which is not.

  • @lightignakelloyd You may like HAVING them, but you didn't like GETTING them. That's a BIG difference. You didn't like spending hours doing the same draw command over and over again. You didn't, you know you didn't, don't even try saying you did. You're acting like an invalid. FF8 is one of the worst games, but it still had a solid story, soundtrack, characters, ect. which made up for its terrible systems, but didn't save it.

  • @genesisSOC what part of collecting you didn't get, i love collecting things, the whole process, it's exciting at least to me, if you don't like it, well there you have it, i did, end of story... if you are so shallow to be let down by some casual extra button pressing added to your regular playthrough, then i guess you're not my kind of people, see ya, hope you're enjoying your games =)

  • @PleaseDieQuietly I think that Final Fanasty SEVEN is the only other RPG I think might be better than Golden Sun.

  • @PleaseDieQuietly Chrono Trigger eats it alive, in my personal opinion.

And your username is fucking fantastic :)

  • @PleaseDieQuietly oh yeahh, im playing it right now on emulator and im stuck at the part after you fight that giant floating head aka the forest king. but after that im not shure what to do... BUT THATS STILL ONE AWESOME GAME!!!

  • I was wondering when you were going to have something from Golden Sun. This game is probably the best RPG ever for a handheld.

  • Golden sun 3 for the ds is coming next year to the United States...

  • I´ve never heard any other handheld music which could be compared to the wonderful music in GS2 (part 2 cause GS2 had that jukebox ingame with the music from part 1).

Seriously, why do the games of today not concentrate more on their music? For me, the background music makes 35% of the game, f.e. the music in GS2 expresses perfectly the atmosphere, drama. If you like this song you should also listen to that song in GS1 where you have to take that ship to cross the karagol sea to get to tolbi

  • Music these days is all just ambient loops with no actual melody

Everyone is to busy focusing on "atmosphere" rather than actual musical substance. It's really too bad.

  • @eerieyellowlights well, atmosphere is part of the music. You wouldn't want to hear this light sweet piece when you're fighting a boss.

  • listen to some music from the kingdom hearts soundtrack. This is good, but KH's music is amazing.

  • Gotta agree, this game has an awesome soundtrack

  • Golden Sun is easily the best handheld RPG there is and I loved it a lot. The first time I played through it, I stopped about 1/4th of the way through but I later started it again, really enjoyed it and made sure to beat it.

The OST is amazing for a handheld game.

  • Not only is it the best handheld RPG, but the most under rated. There are a lot of people that probably dismissed it and never touched it.

  • I bought this game once, knowing nothing about the gameplay or music or anything. I just gave it a random shot, and it instantly became my top favorite GBA game along with Super Mario World.

  • @Senjan It's awesome how that can happen sometimes! I discovered Golden Sun the exact same way :)

  • this song is soo beautifull

  • The greatest handheld RPG of its kind. A masterpiece. I loved it.

  • I've played GS again.

    OMG, it was awesome! :D

  • One of my first GBA games, my first ever RPG. I never really appreciated the music much at the time, but looking back, its awesome. I never actually killed Dullahan, having lost my original copy of the first game, but maybe I should just try and get a code of the 'net and replay it....

  • Just go to Gamestop and buy GSTLA. That's what I did, after losing my original copy.

  • I remember when I was 7 years old or so and I got my GBA annd GS:TLA and harry potter 2 were my games, I liked it so much but it was in French and I was a little boy so I didnt know what to do, stuck in the first place XDD then I found a path too Madra and found Piers and mann that was so fun!

and the music is so incredible, got the OST on my computer, listen to it every night XD its so epic

  • I loved Golden Sun. It was probably the best game I've ever played, handheld or not. I recently replayed both Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age....and probably enjoyed it even more now that I'm 14 and can pick up stuff easily...

Despite my excitement for GS DS, I'm actually pretty scared about it. One of the things that made Golden Sun so epic was that they only made two games and they were both incredible. I don't want to see the series ruined in any way...I can't wait for GS DS though!

  • I did the same thing too!

  • Yeah, but the DS controls suck balls so...

  • Man... It's been awhile since I touched a handheld. Too long. The fact that this game was so good was propably the fact that it was epic. Epic for a handheld. It was really good. Still good till this very day. Maybe I should look for my Gameboy Advance and play it.

  • YE I LOVE THIS

  • Man hearing this brings back some good memories, I used to play this game when I was like 10-12 years old, loved it so much, favorite game ever. Can I get the music from the game anywhere? I love it!

  • wow brings back memories this man! Back in the day when I was 12ish, no a worry in the world :D

  • T^T... great memories. I even walked into the forest after playing this part and imagined that I was actually there. Ah, childhood.

  • The music in this game is beautiful! As a kid I never thought that I would hear music like GS music in a hand held game. Not only that, but the graphics that it held was so epic for its time. I remember seeing Judgment for the first time :D

  • judgement was awesome i used it every single time

always picked it over armageddon LOL

  • I played this game for a while, but i can't find it anywhere

  • i have it on my pc:P

  • i know, i really want it :( If anyone knows of anywhere good to buy it from, please tell me.

  • EB games is often good with old games, but Ebay is your best shot...

  • Awesome memories! I remember I was scared of going into the forest. Then I found the way up north to Imil and got Mia. So long ago, too long ago! GS DS :)

  • the trees were very sad in this game

  • This is so nice and calm

  • i love it from 0.45

  • This song is so... haunting.

Motoi Sakuraba is a genius. <3

  • He's also done the soundtracks for Tales of Symphonia and... Star Ocean... I don't know which one (or ONES).

Just thought I'd let you know.

    And I agree with you.

  • it was very interesting, the things that you can do in this game......the musics are soo good......i hope it gives golden sun 3 quelquefois....

  • yes it will come finally

  • Most nostalgic GS music ever.

  • Isaac, Garet, Ivan, and Mia..... trying to stop Saturos and Menardi from lighting the Elemental Lighthouses.

  • This one and Venus Lighthouse are my favorites.

  • yeah same!

  • this was the first game i got when i got my gba(non lighted one) when i summoned a level 2 djinn i was like holy shit that looks awesome.

  • The only problem with Golden Sun is that it's on a handheld system.

  • how's that a problem?

  • It's looked down upon and ignored, even though it's a great game.
