Ah to kill a mockingbird. Yup I remember reading the book in highschool and then watching the film. I actually kind of liked it xD It was a bit slow for me but I still enjoyed it....As for books I read now...uh...its a bit of everything lol Mostly stuff that relates to supernatural things and what not. I love scary books.
I'm 18, and the last book I read was "The Republic" and that was two days ago. "To Kill A Mockingbird" is high school crap. Are you kidding me?! And Matthew, you are officially my hero for this whole thing. Not only did you make me laugh so hard that I cried, but you had the guts to show this "adult" the truth and reality of his world. Kudos man. Kudos.
So who was this Kasey's dad? Did it ever get revealed who he really was? To be honest, it sounds like one of those text to voice programs that someone is operating.
As much as I love this call, and I know To Kill a Mockingbird is required reading in middle and high school, but does that mean ONLY middle and high schoolers can read it?
And Chris believes that moving with an average speed of 2,5 miles(4 km) Pr/h is jogging? How the F..k did he even get pass elementary school if he can't even figure out such basic calculating???
Then again he was born from a Snorlax hybrids womb. I can imagine people moving with this regular walking speed appear as fast moving blurs in Chris eyes.
I wasn't required to read "To Kill a Mockingbird" in school (instead we were stuck with fucking Catcher in the Rye) but I can tell that Chris has never really read the book. He takes several seconds to come up with something that he learned from the book and makes it clear that he hasn't read the thing.
Last book I read wasFor the Term of His Natural Life. Chris, the dumb shit that he is, couldn't get past the first page.
I think it's weird how Chris admits that he got his story wrong. I mean he disagrees with EVERYTHING the guy says. So on my third listen I'm going 'wait shouldn't Christ say 'hm, well I think you'er so naive to think that's what To Kill a Mockingbird is about, good sir.'
Maybe the reason Ian focuses on those tiny plot details instead of the main plot is because of his autism. I remember seeing a documentary that in one part chronicled a study of people with ASD who watched Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe. (That film was picked apparently because of its heavy use of background elements or something. I never saw it.) When quizzed on the film, the subjects generally talked about the background elements rather than the actual plot.
Last book I've read completely so far is The Armies of the Night by Norman Mailer. I was reading Breaking the Sound Barrier by Amy Goodman for a while but then I realized it was just a collection of news articles from years ago. So I got a collection of short stories by Dostoyevsky from the library.
Not too long ago, I didn't like reading. But I decided to change my life after realizing I spent too much time online, so now I read more.
Sadly, it seems Ian hasn't learned a thing to this day.
Trust Chris to completely ignore the strong racial message and central plot of To Kill a Mockingbird and land on 'hurr durr autistic people r cool and leave kids presents in da tree trunk' as the book's main message
The last book I finished was Philip Pullman's "The Amber Spyglass" last month - I'm 15. Not that big of a deal, I know - but this compared to Chris reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" at 27 is... yeah.
I find it sickening how many of us actually know people/have relatives with even bits of Chris' dysfunctional personality; immaturity, defending yourself while trying to apologize, inflated ego...
lol chrissy got some of the plot right so i don't now what matt was getting at when he said it was a bunch of horseshit, but i doubt chris actually read it, probably read a plot summary somewhere.
Oh come Chris! I read that book when I was in 8th grade on my own and I'm autistic. How he summarized was half assed. The themes involves poverty during the Depression, how people are so shallow towards people of different races(Tom Robinson and the black community) and who are different(Boo). There is also other themes like gender roles, class, etc.
WOW I mean, I read To kill a Mockingbird in my junior year of high school and I remember more about that brilliant piece of literature than this illiterate fuck. The part where he says what the book is about is probably the most shallow analysis of the plot I've ever seen. Oh, and of course he dosen't talk about the biggest lesson of the book, which speaks against prejudice and racism, since he himself is a racist bigotted fucktard. Screw you Chris. You will never be able to truly appreciate
@UltimateFathoms *cont* great literature. How dare you even pretend that you understood that book. Pitiful. Oh if anyone asks why this pisses me off so much, its because reading is one of my passions ^^
People hating on trolls need to realize one thing. Sick/disabled/retarded people can, in fact, be assholes. People with autism can be assholes just like a cancer patient might be an asshole. Most of his problems stem from terrible parenting rather than autism.
@eyholmess Exactly. When a sick/retarded/disabled person is an asshole, you always have to take into account the mental state they might be in, and the events in their life which may make them act the way they do. Autism has had a minimal impact on Chris' life- his problems stem from being a creepy antisocial fuck, terrible parenting and lack of any help which could have made him a functioning member of society, help which he needs because he's been terribly raised, not because he's autistic.
@eyholmess Which I must agree with. I'm a victim of Asperger's syndrome, but I was raised *the right way*. That, and I work at a school, so I know that parenting makes a huge difference in how a child grows up.
This should really have been a waking call for chris, its trollin' but there were home truths "using people on the internet as scapegoats" yet he still hasnt learned anything
I now learned that everything those kids said about boo, how creepy he was and how he was stuck in the house the whole time.... that is so Chris! Just a creepy guy who lives in his parents house and gives childrens toys to random kids he watches outside.
Oh and he isn't the real boo, just the creepy version the kids thought up of
I think he only got the Atticus Finch part right because Matthew mentioned the courtroom scene.
It is sad that his only 'adult' reading materials is texts required in most high school. I wonder if he read the Glass Menagerie because that's basically his life.
Interesting story about healthy foods. Every food is healthy for you, this is why. Other than the fact eating too much of any food is bad for you.
