  • is it normal to feel dizzy?

  • I hate YouTube

  • @ajdude23 : then why did you make an account?

  • I'd rather do this with plyometrics, but this works.

  • hey man you are better without beard!!

  • Could you please answer why exactly do you need neck excercises for fighting i mean what does it give to you like from boxing ? sorry for my bad english :D

  • @TheShagadelicBaby Its because if you have a strong neck when you get hit it stops your neck from whipping back as much, so you can take hits better :)

  • @TheShagadelicBaby A strong neck works as a shock absorber for you.. like if you take a punch you head wont snap back as much as with a non trained neck.

  • He's doing it all wrong! He shouldve tied that plate to his pony tail.

  • how many sets and reps?

  • On behalf of Expert village, my name is Jusong Deh??fbahfbgle??eheh...

  • @fightnfright HAHAHAHHA! EPIC

  • @fightnfright gilson the barbarian oliverira

    thx let me no thx

  • бляяяя.... коменты !!!

  • How many times a week do you do this?

  • this is how you get a neck like Cory Taylor!!

  • @1hardlook OMG that's who I was talking about... LMAO!!! see I don't think he's buff enough to match his neck. When he's wearing the mask I think it accentuates the size. I was gonna tell "Askren" to look up Cory Taylor as the best example of a skinny guy with a big neck.

  • Gilson man, lose the pony tail!

  • look the tysons workout how he trains his neck! the best looking body is the elegant body, not to much muscels, not to thin, more elastic than compact/ strong like a statue, one should know his measure to bild a proper figure, not to have very big bizeps and very thin legs, or big chest and neck and thin legs, ect ect

  • @albcorason Thanks for pointing out the obvious

  • i live in new york. i live in brooklyn. where is camp undefeted???

  • is there anything at home you can use besides the weights youre using. No offense but it just looks a bit clumsy trying to do this in front of everyone at the gym. Im going to do this on my bed but trying to figure our something heavy to use

  • @marcellin20a you could always buy a plate to use at home.

or, i'm not sure how much weight he's using here, but you could try maybe a gallon of water = 8.35 lbs. & you could empty it a bit if you need less weight.

or you could could use a resistance band & loop it around something heavy on the floor -maybe a cinder block. or try this exercise sitting up & loop it around something behind you.

hope those ideas are helpful :-)

  • @marcellin20a You can do this without weights too. I do it about 100 times plus this practice without weights. It is good too

  • Your neck is like the shock absorber for your head. the stronger your neck the more tolerance to hard blows it can take.

  • i wana see him fight

  • u rock MAn =)

  • Tu é brasileiro velho? este nome gilson oliveira só pode ser brasileiro

  • how do i get rid of the captions blocking 80% of the viewing area?

  • i would try that but it looks like the qeight is gona slip off or something

  • you neck holds your head...and your head holds your brain...neck exercise.. recommended.

  • wow ive been fighting mma for 2yrs now never heard of this fuk it looks like a good way to fuk ur self up but gota give it a shot ill look it up more. personaly i like to end fights in a left leg kick to the head which all 3 of my fights ive ended with that kick love it. wanna do it jus like mirko does lol MIRKO CRO COP#1

  • @tank5617 MIRKO all the way!

  • Thats how zidane did it.

  • what accent is that!!!!

  • Does having a strong neck mean that you can take punches better?

  • @unclepeter99,

If all of your other elements are in order, yes. Also, a lot has to do with how you are "wired." The nerves send a signal to the brain that says, "shut down." Everyone's threshold is different, but having a stronger neck can certainly help you. I learned a technique from Systima, the Russian fighting system. You strike your opponent with one palm above the temple and on the other side at the lower jaw, "almost" at the same time. The joggling of brain fluid alone will drop you.

  • @44rumblefish

dude you better off with any other martial arts...Systema is fake! do some google research and find it out for yourself. That entire spetznas story is a load of bullshit they dont get aducated in systema they are just tought how to kill most effectively and endure a shit load of nasty shit. Nothing more there aint no death touch finger move.

But he if you enjoy taking those lessons keep doing it, but do not reley on it when you get into some streetfight..it will get you killed

  • @S0422223, Dude, you have obviously have researched Systema far more than me. My background, like most guys my age started in a form of Karate, then Judo, later, Bjj and now a lot of Muay Thai. I pick-up little things from everywhere. TKD has some nice kicks that I have worked into style. The Systema shot I referred to above, is based on sound knock-out principles. I tried it a few times and it worked each time. I will look into Systema further. If you have some good links please send

  • @S0422223, What I'm saying is that I don't disagree with you. I simply don't have as much knowledge as you do in regards to the history of Systema. Oddly, I work in a lot of Krav Maga into my street fighting. I don't abandon all else, but I certainly don't work knee dragging, double-leg BJJ takedowns on the asphalt streets. Nor do I make a habit of taking the fight to the ground if the opponent has friends around to kick me in the face. Send me some info on Systema's history if you get time

  • @unclepeter99 - Yes it does help! I have been steadily making my neck stronger over the last 2 months. I noticed my head does not snap back as much when taking heavy punches to the face and doesn't hurt as much. Perhaps my face is a just a bit more conditioned haha. Also, once you can keep your head stationary you are better able to counter as it reduces the time to re-focus. My head movement has also improved allowing me to be more evasive. It pisses people off when they cannot hit you.

  • I have been using this technique for my cameltoe

  • @7777dmith7777 camel toe? wear not so tight pants, you woman.

  • How did you get the towel to stick to the plate?

  • @Younowkoed by holding it with his thumbs lol :P

  • You can also go to a metalconcert, mosh pit and head bang all you can.

Quite a hardcore training if youve ever been there for 2 hours.

  • Ridiculous !! xD i can't wait for the guys at the gym to make fun of me if i do this.. LOL !

  • @narcio,

What do you care what guys at your gym think of you?.. Unless you are in high school. I would be more concerned with the ladies. This is a good exercise. Personally, I think this guy would shove his 45 lb weight strait up someone's ass if they made fun of him. I know I would.

  • On behalf of Expert Village my name is Gillsooooon de bardarah de barra??? LMAO!!!

  • @iowabrawler barrreberr de berrarera barrrrhggfh

  • @iowabrawler I think his name is Gilson de Barbera Oliveira. I could be wrong, though...

  • @iowabrawler Yeah, probably even he doesn't remember his last name, so he just says something...

  • @iowabrawler Its Portuguese. I'm not sure if you knew this but not everyone in the world is named bob, skip or Larry.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali

    You forgot curly and moe.

  • @iowabrawler Man! i couldn't stop laughing. i hardly managed to write down the comment.

  • @iowabrawler good spot to attach weight ^^

  • @iowabrawler gilson barbaria oliveira

    this is portuguese

  • front neck bridges would be far better than this

  • plonker

  • @jrwesterman

    no it isnt.

  • The neck is very delicate, and probably the hardest areas of your body to train.

It's so easy to a muscle embalance and you walk around like your trying to look around a corner for days.

  • @19grand its one of the most tightest also

  • no pain no gain

  • right on. depends what pain though. but as always worked out the only way to enlarge your muscle(im great at isolation curls) is to do reps that burn your muscle. you can feel it working and when your done that muscle feels 2s as large.(tumor sized)

  • No, that is completely untrue. The only way to build muscle is to first break it down. That burn comes from lactic acid buildup. Low rep heavy weight exercises can break down muscle, but not cause a burn, on the other hand, low weight high rep exercises can cause lactic acid buildup, without actually breaking down any muscle.

  • sooo, did any one understand everything he said.

  • put some real weigh on there Lol

  • shut up you panzi.

  • Hahahah, yeah, I do this with six 45lbs plates.

While standing on the tip of my erect penis.

  • no le veo función al ejercicio, solo noto que si hago eso o indico que hagan eso temería que alguien se me lastime

  • sweet!

  • He can do whatever he wants, I think that any loaded movement of the cervical spine is dumb as hell.

  • getting punched in the head or shoot ing a double or getting guillotined etc... etc... in a fight without developing your neck, is a sure way to get whiplash

  • Yes, I agree, but I am just weary of using plate or dumbbell resistance to strengthen the neck. I prefer to do mine with isometric strengthening. I don't remember where I heard that loaded cervical movements were unsafe but it is just one of those things that is an opinion of mine.

  • resistance bands are one of the safest methods and have exponentially improved my neck strength and flexibility, isometrics build static strength wich protects the neck but reduces flexibility at the same time, dynamically strengthening the neck provides the same or greater (depending on your fast/slow twitch ratio) strength gains while increasing flexibility and training your neck to resist impingement more actively

  • Well, good for you man. I haven't tried anything other than isometric or simply me pushing on my head at different angles throughout the motion so I can't say much about resistance bands. I guess my main issue is people loading up the neck curl machine with tons of weight and treating it almost like a primary exercise.

  • Couldn't you just push your hand/s on your head to provide resistance throughout the range of motion? That way you can adjust it to each part of the strength curve and if something feels like it is going to hurt you can just take your hands off..

  • Thats how you get a Matt Hughes Horse Neck

  • why doesnt this guy fight in teh pro ranks anywhwere

his workouts are fuckin crazy and he aces them.

  • maybe its cause he cant fight

  • LOL!!!

  • Comment removed

  • hes too pretty to fight.. I think he tried and someone dropped him.. lol

  • whoah! lulz

aww u think hes too pretty! :3

  • Hard workouts don't translate to fighting skills, etc. They help but practicing the fighting specific skills is extremely important.

  • Ok, no offense... but this workout looks super silly... But it works... hahahaha

  • just attach a weight to your ponytail

  • oh crap!

  • hahah

  • whats fucked up about that is it would actually work too.

  • nice

  • GOATSEY

  • good tip

  • WHAT was your name?

  • I love this guy :)

  • Yeah. He's cool. Does anyone know his name?

  • I understand the need, but i just wish big neck didn't look so damn ugly!!

  • Nothing looks worse on a man than a pencil neck. A strong neck makes you look powerful.

  • damn straight

  • *Raises fist high*

  • or much worse, a pencil dick..lol

  • That's another video for another time.

  • haha

  • @Askren How do you get a thick neck?

  • @FFFFbody I rely on heavy-ass shrugs and neck stretches. This exercise is great too. Some say shrugs are just for the traps, but once you get to the point where you're really loading up the weight, you'll feel it all up your neck.

  • @Askren Hey buddy. Thanks. Two questions: Are shrugs when you hold a weight in each hand down by your side and raise your shoulders straight up toward your ears? Also, if I do shrugs, I don't want the back of my neck to get "thick" but then the sides of my neck "skinny". Is what I"m trying to ask is how can one make sure the neck stays "proportioned". Thanks.

  • @Askren And what are neck stretches? Do they build muslces or just stretch?

  • @Askren I'll tell ya what looks worse than a pencil neck..... When you have a powerful looking neck with a pencil body... disgusting!!!

  • @jenlyn77 I'd still take the thick neck/skinny body over being skinny with a skinny neck. I'm not sure how you could pull that the hell off, but I'd take it if those were my only options.

  • @Askren Don't you mean a buff guy with a skinny neck??? Cause a skinny guy with a skinny neck isn't unusual. However when deciding which body I'd prefer... I think a buff body and skinny neck is easier to fix... rather than making your skinny body match a thick neck, just focus on making the neck match up with the body... it just seems easier and makes better sense to me.

  • Comment removed

  • @Askren Yep, and a thick neck also makes you look stupid

  • @djguy100 no, a skinny neck and big upper body looks stupid. Symmetry is the key. plus this video isn't geared towards bodybuilding its geared towards combat sports where a strong neck is crucial.

  • great, this is exactly what i need.

    Thank you.

  • That did NOT look like so dangerous... i've seen very dangerous looking exercises here =D=D=D
