tway ma shaung is pound for pound the best fighter of the world. he's strong ,brave, aggrassive, solid, fast, flexible, agile, intelligence and determined. Nothing can stop him... he's the champion in his weigh class....and now he proved that how the small guy can ko the bigger guy. Support Lethwei video. Lethwei is myanmar(burmese) traditional kick boxing(no gloves allowed).
mway thai is baby for myanmar lethwei .dont belive me look all result within lethwei and mway thai in this tupe all.and then reply me .which kind is more stroung!!!!
No doubt, Tway Ma Shaung is a solid fighter, but he leaves himself wide open when he comes forward on his opponents. He's got a great chin, but that only lasts so long. This isn't the only fight where he takes some big shots in the opening couple minutes, it happens in most of his fights.
Tway didnt do so well in this fight. Even doe he won i have seen seriously punish people in the past and this fight he seemed abit sluggish. Maybe jet lagged if this was not in burma.
@031ish Actually there are problems that we see with Tway that both my Lethwei instructor and I see. He hasnt mastered the correct Lethwei footwork. He understands about 80% of Lethwei technique. He is using whats called walk in bull guard technique (using forehead to jam the punch). But he hasnt perfected it since he is using it passively and slowly.
Incredible! I salute to Thay Mac Shwan. He could take punches & kicks but his opponent couldnt. He shouldnt give well distance to his opponent who is taller but avoid the punch & approach to the opponents chest & should use his head butt. Im not sure this much allow head butt. He is very good at head butting. Dunno why his hands were down in this match. Anyway, he has very good fighting spirit * that made him to win. Well done Mac.
is this mma? what the hell burmanese thinking they cant fight mma? they only good at stand up striking mma when your on the ground goodnight burma man
it was in a cage, but the fight was with burmese lethwei rules. The myanmar lethwei fighter Tway Mashaung won the fight, bcoz Hentz berger broke his hand or something at the end
yeh thats smart. It would be stupid if Burmese fighters fought with mma rules, they are stand up fighters., not wrestlers, or submission fighters, or ju jitsu fighters. The same thing with thai fighters and muay thai. Muay thai is the thai national sport. therefore, thais fight muay thai. Lethwei is the burmese national sport, therefore they fight with lethwei rules.
Tway is like the T-800 Terminator machine. Doesnt get hurt and keeps walking forward. Funnier the more the opponents hit him the stronger he gets. The more he hits them the weaker they get.
I respect muay thai fighter. I'm not talking muay thai is superior or inferior. I just telling YOU JEALOUS. But I don't understand why you so jealous????
of what? burmanese fighter? whats there be jealouse of? until they become a world power in the fighting ring then there nothing for me to be jealouse of. stop dirnking cool aid and start drinking beer man
its burmese, not burmanese. Of course if the white guy could do takedowns and if it was MMA he would win. Tway mashaung isnt an mma fighter. hes a lethwei(stand up) fighter.
i don't know who u r or what u r nationality but don't look down on others. if u think u r top fighter or unbeatable fighter, i dare you to come to myanmar (Burma) and fight in the ring with one of our fighter with our lethwei(kickboxing) rules. don't be cocky, show us (Myanmar people ) what u get.
Thway did not fight this one too well. He didnt bull guard correctly and his hand position for bull guard was way off. Elephant steps were off too. He also did not clinch well or use leap punches or bull rush correctly, didnt use power uppercut on taller guy either. This is perhaps his worst fight I've seen and not using good lethwei. But good for him he was able to get back up and still win.
Surely our Burmese boxer will win cuz Japs are not use to our boxing style or rules. Japs are not so good in stand fight but the are very good in judo or jugitsu ground fight. their concerntrait is start form ground. anyway thanks alot 4ur info.
yeh theres no weight class in lethwei. It was just be unfair in my opinion bcoz of the weigh difference, but in saying that, i also think its impossible to hurt him. And when he is hurt, he has the heart to get back up and win the fight
Actually this is the first time I've seen him go down. Yea it is unfair but this fight didnt seem fair either. I mean Thomas looked like he was a foot taller and weighed like 30 lbs. heavier than Tway McShawn The only chance Bakauw has is if they fight Thai boxing rules.
Yes this is exactly why I am puzzled by Nakorn's comments disrespecting Lethwei and Tway McShawn. I mean when has Baukaw fought a guy much bigger than him and won for that matter?
@BF1 I think Lethwei fighters should have training in western boxing, that case they would have more flow with their foot work and much more accurate punches. some the the lethwei fighters throw wild or looping punches.
Actually I couldnt disagree with you more. Most Burmese guys are only educated in lethwei about 5% to at best 80% in lethwei. My instructor shows more than 12 punches 2 punches are rarely used, the hook and wining punch because they are dangerous to throw in Lethwei fights. There are 3 that currently ues true Lethwei punches and it would be Wan Chai (young), Win Tun, Tway, and recently Saw Kna Man. The actual lethwei punch is max shoulder power and straight punch.
I also disagree with what you are saying about foot work. You should check out Wan Chai vs Mg Mg Gyi. 1:00 minute in the fight tell me what unique things you see with Wan Chai's foot work. Btw just to let you know there was a tournament USA vs Lethwei and Lethwei dominated USA all by KO. So I disagree with you on the boxing. Boxing isnt good to learn for under lethwei rules.
@BF1 Interesting point, but I feel that wiht boxing you can polish on your punches and footwork. Also I feel that you are taking a perspective of style vs style, in This case Lethwei. I saw the Usa Vs Myanmar fights, and the level of the Burmese fighters were at a higher level, so it's skill level not style. You lose, you win. Also Lethwei fighters are tough.
@lpbmartialarts The mechanics of the punch are very different from Lethwei. The foot work is also very different. When a real technical lethwei guy does proper foot work it looks like they are gliding across the floor. We call it teleporting. In theory, mastering this foot work means you cant be hit....Btw you can order 2 lethwei books from my instructor. Google arts of ancient wisdom MTB
@BF1 So the fighters don't pivot their back heel (raised) If what you say about Lethwei footwork is true than there should be a nice flow in the way they move, and I agree there are fighters who don't demostrate it very well! This the gliding movements you speak of sounds possible, because some western boxers I've seen do have that kind of relaxed footwork. Btw I don't like buying things online, I like to be careful where I buy things.
@lpbmartialarts Yes that's true. In fact,, one boxer comes into mind who does use this type of footwork is Prince Haseem. The problem is they/he can do this footwork with punches not more than a couple steps because the feet dont switch (left punch with left foot) and right hand punch with right foot. It is this principle that makes cutting the ring off not a big deal that western boxing makes.
@BF1 thai fighters are as flat footed as they come if they learnt to mix the two western boxing footwork obvisly not the same stance wih thai stand up theyd be untouchable in the stand up game. Ramon dekers went to thailand and cleaned up cos he could mix the two thais need to catch up cos if you could get bare knuckle stand up on the tv in the uk it would over power boxing ufc the lot no one interested in the grappling in the ufc imaging how many knock outs thered be it would unreal.
@lpbmartialarts Keep in mind boxing coaches in the US understand their system extremely well for the most part. Lethwei coaches at best may only understand lethwei 50%. Fighters thru their life might only apply about 25% lethwei taught to them and may learn nothing more. Plus, they get paid 10 dollars a fight and traveling expenses are paid by the crowd, so lethwei training is not that good like the US is. So it's not a system problem its a knowledge and training problem.
@lpbmartialarts One more comment. Tway McShawn is NOT a good fighter to look at for footwork. My instructor and I kind of frown on his footwork a bit which is why it's making him look a little slow at times. He's lacking teleportation in his footwork and also his feet dont switch during punches to run his opponent down like Wan Chai does in Mg Mg Gyi.
No I think Bakauw has more international experiences than our boxers. It's hard to say but I think bakauw isn't easy to take down. More likely he would win
@whatever2005au Oh btw, Tway McShaw is applying the bull guard technique incorrectly in this fight and Poe K fight. Bull guard is using forehead and arms to form a shield and you "MUST" use it to Jam your opponent to stop him from using combos. Tway uses it passively here and during Poe K fight and gets dropped.
oh ok i thought so. Also, wen the fight was stopped by the referee while mashoun was throwing right hands at berger who had his head turned, was it the end of the round? Then the referee called off the fight during the break due to his injury.
Do u noe the weights of both these fighters? Coz it seemed the german fighter was way taller and bigger than tway Mashaun. but mashaun made up for the lack of size with his heart. He took two knockdowns in the 1st round, but dominated the next 2. Btw, do u noe who the winner was? Coz im not sure wat happened at the end. The german was pointing at his hand or something. Possibly, he broke his hand
