heey brother rich my name is Kyle Valdes i am a Christian hip hop artist i dont see anything wrong with Holy Hip Hop its just preaching through a beat. God bless you brotha
Hip hop was birthed in the Bronx in the 70s and the term hip hops was due to this type of music causing women's hips to hop butt shaking....so God needs holy booty shaking to reach the lost...yeah that makes sense
@solomonii0 Romans 1:16 says the gospel is the power of God for salvation. That gospel can be put into rhyme form. Even some of the most externally pious & self-righteous people agree with that. They hate gospel rap but will tolerate and maybe even enjoy gospel poetry. If you were someone who would look past your own biases, you'd know that God is using the gospel in rhyme form to reach people worldwide. Of course He's doing it without it being in rhyme form also. (continued)
@solomonii0 (continued) God is God. He does as He pleases. Please...gospel rap is impacting more souls evangelistically than self-righteous people locked up in four walls are doing. Let me say for the record that no one is looking for approval from people such as yourself. Not at all. Your approval is not needed. I know what God's called me to & who has ears to listen. Hopefully beyond this, you are actually evangelizing the lost and not just snubbing the unchurched self-righteously.
Tell me who where the acknowledged founders of hip hop...and tell me how the term hip hop came to be...if you will be honest these two questions will prove my point....also you a making a nonsense point the Internet is a-moral which means that it is neither moral nor immoral it is a machine for which to communicate
@solomonii0 One, there were too many people in hip hop's beginning that are accredited with contributing to it. Two, the term "hip hop" meant more than one thing initially. Three, any true hip hop head can tell you that not all hip hop was/is about booty shaking. There are numerous thought-provoking & introspective songs, as well as story-telling music. There are amoral elements within the hip hop culture. But you would know that if you were actually a student of it, which you don't seem to be.
It's a shame that some people believe that God doesn't have enough creativity to birth a music that can reach people...but rather default to hip hop which was birthed out of wickedness...look no further the founders of hip hop
@solomonii0 God can definitely do it. I'm not saying He can't. He has not done it as of yet. I think we can all agree there. As soon as it comes out, if I miss it, make sure you let me know so I can go support it. Wouldn't it make sense to reach people with something that the reached and the reachers both have in common? God creates AND redeems! If you can prove hip hop was birthed out of wickedness then maybe we can go from there. You ain't leavin' YouTube, the internet or the USA.. I'm sayin..
wow you really got it all twisted my friend. iwould honestly pray for discernment &understanding.my whole response is 2long for youtube so ima make a video response& im not lookin for no back and forth but it bothers me to see ppl not being on one accord for God. Thats scary cuz look out how much we go off tangent in life yet Jesus is the only way to God, imagine if there was other ways? lol like hot mess aint the word for what it would be like...maybe thats why we use only 10% of our brain. smh
All that we believe must be based on the WORD. That's all.
I would also ask where in the Word do we find a standard for holy instruments and styles of music? How many beats per minute does it take to make it unholy? What key do we have to sing in to be holy? The whole criticism of hip hop is based on man's laws that cannot and will never reveal God's mind.
Call in to my show my brother and we will cast out the demons inside of you in Jesus Christ name. You are suffering from rejection from your father and rebellion
@omegamanradio Family, give me the info. I will be happy to call into your show. However, I don't know how successful you will be in trying to cast demons out of me, being that I am sealed with the Holy Spirit of God. I can't front, when I first read this comment, I was DEEPLY offended. What you wrote is messed up & I want an apology. My father has been and still is involved in my life. If that was supposed to be prophetic, it is very wrong. I hope you reply to this. One love in Jesus. Always.
Random question: Why is it that a LARGE number of people who respond to this video DO NOT have a profile picture up on their YouTube profiles?? That has always creeped me out a bit. It's almost as if people create a profile just to respond to this OR they aren't real and choose to hide behind anonymity. I just don't get it. Maybe someone can help me out with this.
question: so if you take crack and lace it with holy water, does that make it holy crack? NO. hip hop is not holy. why can't you just be a gospel rapper? why does it have to be hip hop which is secular? you can't have it both ways my love. either you are going to serve god or satan. hip hop is not holy. no mater what the title says in front of it. it comes from a evil place with secular intentions. blessings!
@janedune First, there's no biblical basis for "holy water". Second, people will call it whatever they wish. I really couldn't care less what it's called. Third, neither you nor anyone else who refuses to see that can actually dictate how this thing can or cannot go. This is so much bigger than you or me. Y'all will probably disagree with that. Oh well. It is what it is. Fourth, I know the God in Whom I trust. Fifth, don't be condescending in the tone of your comment. I promise I won't hear it.
@janedune you should look up "Jesus Is Alive" by Shai Linne. Read the words as the song is played here on YouTube. Then get back to me and tell me whether or not God is glorifying Himself through beats & rhymes. I hope you give it an unbiased listen.
And that's when I started to do my own research about Holy Hip Hop records. And what I found was shocking. Did you know that Lecrea has a pyramid tatooed on his arm?
@Nigerianqueen87 If you are talking about his right arm then no...it's not a pyramid. It's called a Triquetra. It's symbolic of the Trinity. I can almost guarantee that what you supposedly found out about holy hip hop is unfounded & spooky superstition with almost no basis in reality (and it can probably be easily dismantled with a proper & rational biblical perspective.) But humor me anyway & let me know what you have. Thanks.
That's the same feeling I had when I was listening to these so called christian artists. I would question myself by saying "Ok, was that necessary? What is the purpose for this or that?" I was pretty much showing question expressions throughout most of Lecrea's videos. It just didn't feel or look right. I mean I understand that you can't control your hand movements while performing, but you can control your fingers and you are well aware of the type of signs that you display with your fingers.
@Nigerianqueen87 so you mean to tell me that you are completely bypassing the biblical content in these songs because of some hand gestures? I'm going to analyze the video again. I've seen it before. I'm sure some supposed "illuminati" symbols & demonic hand gestures would be hard to miss. I don't remember seeing it before. But to be honest with you, it's really not that deep.
how many times he has held up the devil sign. I mean really, was it necessary to display that sign in the music video; most certainly not. And that's not the only music video or video that he has held up that God forbidden sign. The first time I heard Lecrea, I felt a little funny about the type of gestures and symbols he had in both his music videos and album cover. You know when you have that feeling about something that is identified as "Godly" but you have a feeling that it's fake & ungodly?
@Nigerianqueen87 Yeah I know about that feeling. However, we cannot simply rely on feelings sis. We have to check those feelings against the Word of God. I'll continue my response on the next comment.
@ youngsagetheprogeny, that was way before I knew about what holy hip hop truly is. Now that holy hip hop is exposed, my fan-based status has dropped like 10 folds. I was shocked to know that they were influenced by the illuminait and at the same time heart broken because these artist were very strong at including biblical scriptures in hip hop music. If you analyze their music videos, you will find many signs that justifies my claim. A video called "Go Hard" by Lecrea for instance, can you see
Keep in mind that the devil can present himself as the angel of light and sadly his pretty much the best compromisers of the bible. Why? Because the devil hates the truth and he'll do anything to mask the real truth. And in doing that, he has the ability to deceive a nation. With that said, my question to you is, what type of music do you listen to?
@Nigerianqueen87 Yes the Devil comes as an angel of light. We agree there. The thing is, Satan is not going to be the one promoting the full, unadulterated gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ. If there are rappers putting the Word of God, scripturally into verses, making them rhyme over a beat...and people are hearing the Word & being ministered to, G Craige says it's worldly because it has a "hip hop" sound. Wackness! The gospel is the saving power of God, no matter the form.
@Nigerianqueen87 I listen to Lecrae, Shai Linne, Trip Lee, 116 Clique, The Ambassador, Da T.R.U.T.H., etc. I also like Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, John P Kee, Kirk Franklin (but I like their OLD stuff). I like Sonicflood, Doobie Powell...aaahh...the list is too long. Know what I think you should do though? I want you to watch the Youtube video "Jesus is Alive" by Shai Linne. Search for it on here. Make sure you find the one with the lyrics posted. Listen to that & get back to me. Agape!
@Nigerianqueen87 Wait...I just went to your page and realized that you "liked" a video by my dude Timothy Brindle called "Sinfulness of Sin". You liked that video. That is in essence what God is doing in rap. People calling it hip hop is of no consequence. People will call it whatever they will. The gospel is being preached. These rappers, whose videos you "liked" would look just like any other hip hop head if you didn't know about them, except they have been bought by Christ's blood & redeemed.
observation, you don't really need to question where people are getting their information from; but do the research yourself in order to prove them right or wrong. Don't just sit there and be ignorant to the fact that it's not exactly found in the bible. No offense, but maybe its because your not reading your bible well enough. I mean you said it in your video that you should evaluate the information you receive. Go to their websites and evaluate the videos and pin point what's God or unGodly.
@Nigerianqueen87 I have evaluated G Craige Lewis. I have evaluated music artists, both secular and "holy hip hop". Their message isn't hard to determine at all. And like you said, pinpointing what's godly from what isn't is the objective. Being worldly doesn't mean having a "hip hop" sound. Being worldly means promoting SIN. The holy hip hop artists that are up & coming don't promote SIN. They preach Christ's Word on beat in rhyming cadences. But they are labeled worldly for sounding "hip hop".
artists sold their soul to the devil, but what I am saying is that no matter what genre you listen to, you have to be able to evaluate what message they are really sending to the public and test whether that message is of God. And if it's not of God, the bible says that we should flea from it. 1 John 4:1 states- "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." The music videos are displayed for your
@youngsagetheprogeny, your missing the point. The scriptures have nothing to do with clothing because obviously we as humans need clothes to cover ourselves up. Romans 12:2 states- "And be not conformed to this world: but ye be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." In other words you shouldn't just do things according to what is popular but according to what is the will of God. However I'm not saying that all
craig lewis is showing love by exposing the devil's plan. he loves the sinner only hates the sin. out of love he is ministering truth. jesus spoke truth out of love for his people too. a lot of people don't know the word of god, that is why god send workers to minister and fellowship. they bring truth not hip hop. hip hop is worldly. there is no way of twisting it. the first artist to be released from hip hop, was he delivering god's message or commercial products and lust? let's wake up!
@janedune with all due respect, I don't think you are seeing the difference between what he's teaching and what the Bible says. The truth of the matter is that G Craige teaches Pentecostal legalism...plus there are a lot of things that he is DEAD wrong on. That is the points that I tried to make in this video.
@youngsagetheprogeny PART II if you are a christian, you should not listen to hip hop music with the word holy as it's front title. the origins of hip hop is not holy what so ever and to DARE attempt to make it holy is insane as well as demonic. i am a music producer and when i WAS worldly (i know better now) hip hop was my rap style. if you are a rapper who speaks about the word of god, that is your genre not hip hop; because the origins of hip hop has nothing to do with the word holy.
@janedune the origins of hip hop was words being spoken in a rhyming cadence over party music beat breaks. It started in the party atmosphere. What you're saying is like making every birthday party that isn't overtly Christian-themed out to be demon worship. Hip hop didn't start out holy just like you didn't start out holy. The gospel can be put into poetic, lyrical form. Psalms prove that. Did you know that Psalms was poetry, glorifying God, set to music? Sounds like an early version of rap.
And when someone is successful in the spirit, they use Jesus Christ as an influence to live up to the purpose in which was Christ ordained. What is the difference between being successful in the flesh and being successful in the spirit? When someone is successful in the flesh, they seek out materialism, instead of Christ. Christ is not first when you are seeking materialism because you can't serve two Gods. You can't drink from the cup of Jesus Christ and from the cup of Satan; they don't mix.
The bible says, broad and straight is the road that leads to destruction. And narrow and straight is the road that leads to the kingdom of heaven. The bible says that we should not be of this world because Jesus Christ was not of this world. He was beaten and disrespected because he did not follow the world. There is a difference between being successful spiritually and being successful in the flesh. When someone is successful in the flesh, they use money as an influence.
@Nigerianqueen87 so what does "not being of this world" mean? If it means not dressing like the world, then you've gotta tell me where you shop 'cuz everything humans wear is of this world, made in this world and made from stuff created IN THIS WORLD. That is, unless you are biased against certain name brands...I hear you. Separate conversation. Ahhh... Being separate from the world means being born again and doing the things outlined in Scripture.
Rap is OK. Hip hop is not because hip hop represents the streets. It was born in the streets. It came from the neighborhood. Hip hop has even become an individual religion. They came up with their own Hip Hop bible.
Christian rapper, keep rapping, but don't call it a ministry, God didn't use music to spread the gospel.
People laugh at christian "holy" hip hop because they see they are trying to sound like the world. It's too obvious and it seems pathetic.
@kevinyankee2 Hey family...people will call it what they like. I respect your opinion but it's just that: an opinion. Who says hip hop is not okay? G Craige? There are so many holes in his theories...smh. And just because KRS-ONE came up with the Temple of Hip Hop 20 YEARS after hip hop started doesn't make it a religion. It doesn't seem that you can objectively comment on hip hop because you are letting your bias color your perspective. All we should care about is what the Bible says about it.
Malachi 3 doesn't apply to us?!!! We aren't the children of Israel?!!! All scriptures apply to us. Once we are filled with the holy ghost we are engraphed in. I love you bruh but there's some errors in this. Look out for my video, scripturally based.
@TyHutch1978 Yes Paul writes in the New Testament that we are engrafted into God's family. Read carefully family. If we were the children of Israel then Paul would not reference Israelites as if they were a separate entity from us in his writings. He would have just written "us". Have you read Romans? I believe it's chapter 8 or 9 that proves my point. Message me or something with the link to your video.
you made some very good points about christianity but where in the bible does God redeem demonic religions like hip hop? I dont have a problem with rapping for christ but how is the culture redeemable?
i couldnt agree wit u anymore! I am so sick and tired of people bashing christian hiphop as if christian music is defined by the clothes and the soft choir rhythem. Its the WORDS and the actions, if them music represents god and not the world then how is it possible satan music??? Satan music is songs that speak about drugs, sex and murders. People are too hung up on image and forget the lyrics reflect the love of god and how we as disciples should live.
Amen young brother. I needed that. Let the word change and guide us. And all else will change. Good stuff. Young believers are getting confused because it's so much stuff out here talking about this person and that person. Let's focus on God and his word for us then.... We can help the kingdom by our lifestyles which has his word as the seed to pull from. Bless you!
woooooow that was horrible. ..... bcuz it was sooooooo good that i wanted u to continue haha! my homie u touched on 3 points sooo beautifully when there r even more u coulda touched on. im so mad ur video isnt more popular than it is cuz unfortunately there r alotta kats out there that for whatever the reason have some misconception about "holy hip hop". i hope more kats confused about the matter find this vid it seem like u found plenty of selfrighteous bashers haha. God Bless
In my opinion, from my understanding of the word, as long as the intent is godly and to share the word and joy of jesus and our father then it can't be wrong. The intent behind "hip hop" or "rock" should be the definining purpose of it's ethical background. The word of god can be used in ANY situation. Now personally, I have a Christian rock band, god redeemed me myself and redeemed my style of music through me. We write music from the WORD, GODS word.
music is like money it can be used for good and bad the bible says the love of money is the root of all evil not money its self the same for music, and we are supposed to compare all things to the word of God like you say but, i also know someone who has the holy spirit will carry their self in a certain manner.
@vizion24 when it says that, the context is talking about committing sinful acts AND it goes into detail about what specific acts are sinful. I'm not trying to justify it. It's already permissible. What I'm trying to do is point out some inconsistency with EX ministries stance when compared to scripture.
@vizion24 he isn't glorifying hip hop...he is addressing the debate about reach records and other rappers that glorify god in every song they make who are being attacked by G. Craigs Lewis and Terio the guy who makes rant posts about lecrae, holyhip etc. *This guy is right on for the most part. as far as thinking for yourself. He isn't really saying that Lecrae an them are people to be praised and their not. He's talking about white christians that basiclay claim urban hip hop culture is satanic
My thing is this...if you are a man or woman of God...& you look at hip hop(the way of life...the music)...and you see how it has destroyed the lives of people...how the message in the music has corrupted the minds of our youth(and grown folk)..to know how perverted and vile the way of life is(do what thou wilt)...& in knowing this..why would any born again person want any part of it? Even moreso, why would you want to offer something connected to something so vile up to God? Y would He want it?
@drashan35 Fam..look at sinful man...with all the things that he corrupted, destroyed and worshipped as a slap in the face of the One & Only Holy God...why would God want to save the vile, evil & wretched human race??? Do you see where I'm going with this??? God made redemption available to mankind. So is hip hop more vile than we are? NO!!! If before Christ, a man glorifies sin in his music, then after Christ comes in, the reborn man will glorify God in music. THE STYLE DOESN'T HAVE TO CHANGE.
We are sent to be ministers of Gods word not Rappers.....Rock as well as hip hop is of satan. He created it for guys like u to argue with Gods word. First We are all jews and should live according to The jewish Christ not the the another christ that christians serve. Shalom Lacrae and all them fools are not right just satans puppets
@mrKingME806 Family with all due respect you are saying the same thing as a lot of other people that support EX ministries with no proof. Satan does not create music. Bad hip hop is made by sinful people like you and I that need Jesus.
Thank you for actually sharing Scripture--not merely opinions-- when making this point. I've seen a lot of haughty looks from both camps, but I appreciate the humility... I pray that you will continue to walk this way brother!
What that "exposee" ministry is doing is re-packaged urbanized '"legalism" in disquise. Christ by the holy spirit convicts people to become sanctified and change their lives, NOT BY what a man tells you to stop doing.
God dont care wat u wear or how u praised him...u know all music is created by God but the devil copies it...the scriptures dont say u cant praised God with a certain beat or style..he dont care at ur clothes he cares bout ur heart
@Blake472 Have you read in the Bible where King Saul called for David to minister to him with music from his harp??? Have you read in the Bible where Paul admonished saints to sing songs, hymns & spiritual songs for the purpose of ministering thoughts of Jesus to hearts??? You think for yourself. Do we need it? No, it's not a dire need. However it is useful. The Bible says so. So tell me...what are YOU talking about? By the way I don't need to prove intelligence to you..just so you know.
It is stupid and foolish to say that you can not worship God by singing or rapping of His glory and greatness. Jesus himself said this in LUKE 9:49-50 about a man doing good works in his name. Same is it in sharing a different style of music. Narrow is the path to righteousness and the doorway to Heaven Jesus had said, but never did he say, narrow is the path in worshiping and Glorifying him.
It just crossed my mind that if I didnt study the bible on my own time, I wouldnt have the same appreciation for Christian rappers like Timothy or Shai Linne. I remember the first songs I heard by them, I knew the passages they were speaking from, and I was amazed how they were able to fit it into a rhyme scheme.
I wonder what I would think of Christian rap if I had no idea of what the Bible says.
the bottom line is people need to ask themselves 'am i trying to glorify myself and live in the image the world has sold to me' .. or are they living according to the image of Christ .. almost all worldly type music is about glorifying the self - this is Luciferianism by defintion ..
Maybe god is using the christian rappers the same way evil uses it's rappers to influence the youth and whomever else it consumes. you gotta understand there is a new breed of evil thru gangsta rap, and hiphop. now you take a hiphop like beat, pray over it , use positive words, and actually use words from the bible mix it with rhythm, and tell me that aint god fighting back for his children thru loyal young servants! well then im just gonna have to disagree with the skeptics reguardless!!
did u no wearing your hat that way is a sign of reblion. it was not designed to be worn like this originaly so if you go agaisnt it its rebellion. is it not,?
@smurfk WHAT DOES A HAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT OF THIS VIDEO? IF @YOUNGSAGETHEPROGENY IS MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT HIS HAT, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT ON THIS MATTER......
1.It is not HOLY HIP HOP,It is RAP with MUSIC .Change da name brother.I do Gospel Rap Music not Holy Hip Hop.We did this type of music long ago before the Sugar Hill Gang when we lived in the HOLY LAND,David danced out of his cloths but what was he dancing to.MUSIC THAT PRAISED GOD ( YAH ).They got it backwards.the world got that sound from the church anyway.Satan is a thief remember. He came to still kill and destroy our music. So they got it all twisted bro.
@Elderyoungone --- call it what you want - do you look like a gang-banger??? then how are you mixing that with Christianity????? We are IN this world -- not to be confused with OF this world-----
@mtavarez4561 I guess you would fall in the same category as us unless your clothes & style of dress came from outside this planet. Maybe you had your clothes made by angels...or you have clothing made of light like the Green Lantern... If so, please tell us where you shop!! Now, unless the above applies to you, of course your clothes were made on planet Earth. Just because your clothes weren't influenced by hip-hop, doesn't mean they don't fall into the worldly category (by your logic). Hmm.
@youngsagetheprogeny - i wish you could take some to vist people from mexico for example, or some other poor country who dont have the luxuries that we have hear in the states, there clothes are simple. there hearts are humble, there is no such thing as hip hop nor is there any desire for gold chains side ways baseball caps ect...... yes, their clothes are made on earth they are in the world but not of the world
@youngsagetheprogeny ---you dont have to shop outside the planet to not have your clothes be considered not of this world, its interesting how alot of christian music speaks about "not of this world" yet all the artists seem to do is try to look like more and more of this world. Not to mention they trying to get their hands on more and more of the is world !!!!!!
@mtavarez4561 What does a Christian look like exactly? Clean the outside of the cup, or change your heart? Which brings about redemption? Circumcision of the heart through Jesus and the imputation of the Holy Spirit through the hearing of the word!!!! Salvation is not a three piece suit. My three piece is The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Until we are clothed in the veil by his Holy Angels, clothes are just clothes. The physical will pass away! Get your Eph. 6 on regardless!
@Elderyoungone I don't now, nor have I EVER had control over what people choose to call this music genre. I have been listening to the same arguments for years and thus far have not heard a credible, sensible argument for the ceasing of the name "holy hip hop". As for everything else you wrote...AMEN!!!
@juanbellard well what does the Word say? Malachi 3 applied to the children of Israel. The New Testament tells us simply to give. We can tithe like Abraham did to the king of Salem (pre-Law). However, telling people if they don't do it that they'll be cursed with a curse is taking Malachi 3 out of context. That's the shortest answer I can give. Of course, I'm open to scrutiny by the Word.
Once again, I apologize to those who are posting comments and they aren't making it on here. I pushed the wrong button again. I'm not being funny...I'm serious. That's my bad, y'all. I am truly sorry. Please forgive me. For those who don't know, I come from the school of thought that agrees with "sola scriptura" and the other 5 solas embraced by some Christians. It really should be this way with all saints, but it just isn't like that. I just wanted to put that out there.
Sorry to the person that posted and the comment didn't make it. Post it again. Sorry about that. To all who say hip-hop is a registered religion: PROVE IT so we all can see where it's registered. Then please tell the BILLIONS of hip-hoppers that don't seem to know that. I pray the gospel grasps you instead of that self-righteous, legalistic tradition stuff y'all are on. The Bible addresses this a few times. Come on y'all!!!
Those things that you can’t find in the text don't mean there not there, Example many archeologists know the bible word for word but don't and can’t see what is being told or explained. Why? They are not spiritually discerned, the Holy Spirit has not led them into spiritual truths, and EX Ministries understands what is going on as I have come to see myself. Once you understand God's Holiness that of which Isa 6:1-3 spoke of in Greek. Then i pray you see different as the Spirit allows.
@MrSage360 Mister Sage, eh? Okay. Here's my thing. ALL throughout historical Christianity, the church has mainly stuck to what the scripture says. God's Word is sufficient like 2 Tim 3:16-17 says. Soooo...basically if the Bible doesn't say it, HOW CAN IT BE PROVEN TRUE??? Revelation tells us NOT to add to what the Bible says or we will face the punishment described there. You can "discern" whatever, but 1 John 4 tells us to test the spirits to distinguish between true and false.
3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
do not be led astray my brethren we are not of this world but Heaven
@dirtyjerz201 1 Corinthians 9 20-22 "I have become all things to all men , that i might by all means save some" if these christian rap artist are sinning in anyway please show me how ... if theyre preaching a different
hey guy, even though i dont agree with you,i appreciate your humbleness , proper speech and after all we are brothers in christ(im white!). I really like your presentation and you made me think twice about this.I think the problem lies in the fact that hip hop is a religion.there is a new testament hip hop bible(krs 1).The god of that bible is allah. so,holy hip hop would be holy allah. The only one thats holy is CHRIST,as you know the word says hes a consuming fire.I humbly hope this will help
@sethontop Thank you brother! I pray God's grace & mercy be multiplied to you! Ahh I wish I could find the proof that hip-hop is supposedly an established religion. People are saying it so much but they never show where we can find the proof. How come the masses of people don't seem to know this? I contend that this assertion is FALSE. Straight up. No shot at you, but proof is needed to back this claim up. There are so many other holes in his argument... I won't even address that now. Peace!
@youngsagetheprogeny Hey brother I enjoy the comment but what viewers must understand is the MOST important thing is the message of the artists is ANOINTED. What do I mean? When you hear it, it should make you want to know more about the Lord, praise the Lord, or reflect yourself to see if you are pleasing the Lord. That goes for even churches. It must be Anointed. Just because it says God or Jesus doesn't make it holy. Check out HAZAKIM - Crucifixtion Description you'll see anointed. God Bless
@sethontop There is no hip-hop religion. KRS One is a contributor to an overarching culture and is absolutely NOT a leader. People may follow him and follow his religion, but hip-hop does have undercurrents of individuality and consciousness. Just because Bambata says something, does not mean all hip-hoppers will follow it, and that is one of Craig's biggest mistakes in his lectures. Hip hop doesn't have any gods or spirits. Hit me up if you have more questions. I'll be glad to answer.
@sethontop Hip hop is NOT a religion. KRS is trying to make it one, but it is not a religion. "Holy hip hop would be holy allah." That statement doesn't really make any sense, though I do think I understand what you're trying to say. Jehovahs Witnesses understand what it is because it is recognized by EVERYONE as a religion (actually a cult derived from Christianity). Hip hop CAN'T be a religion because it is not widely recognized by everyone in it as such. It is an American subculture. Come on.
not saying you do not love HIM and what you do is not to glorify HIM(if you are a rapper) but be honest "with all gravity" Titus 2:7 "In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine [shewing] uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity," we should be focused on HIM speaking through us through HIS word songs do draw men and heal but you have to be annointed-THE SPIRIT as you said by fasting and prayer unto THE LORD dropping all desire and be obedient to HIS answer.
@dirtyjerz201 I think you should look up the song "Jesus Is Alive" by Shai Linne. Read the words as they come across the screen and tell me that doesn't glorify Jesus. Then reply to me. Thanks!
I agree with you 100%. If God can use a donkey to correct Balaak surely he can use elements of hip hop to spread the gospel of Jesus. Whether it is a hip hopper or gospel singer if they are living and preaching about Jesus Christ of the Bible then its all good.
It's 2011. I'm sorry if some of the things posted don't make it past my approval. I no longer seem to have the time or the drive to get it in here like I used to. Honestly, it feels as if this may be going in circles. So please check below before posting. It is highly likely that you may be saying something that someone else already said (to those who want to debate.) Nothing wrong with debating...rather than repeat the same answers to the same questions from different people, just read below.
My brother in Christ, I couldn't agree with you even more on the topic regarding Holy Hip Hop. It seems that many will condemn the music and call it unholy. I have heard many different songs in Holy Hip-Hop. While it is true that some artist do mix the worldly things with the word of God within their music, there are many Holy Hip-Hop artists who had created their own beats for the song and had created their own words that are influence by the reading of the scriptures.
I like your response it's very humble and very jesus. I used to create (very small) platforms (concerts and zine) in Holland to build a christ-inspired hip hop community. I didnt like the word holy. I was in two crews but I wanted to experiment more with music and poetry. Funny enough some of the hip hop heads found it hard to accept that i wasnt doing what they considered hip hop. As a figure of speech it's like i turned atheist in their eyes.
You're blind as a back brother. What about The Law Of The Most High? Where did christianity come, where in the bible does it say that the people of The Most High?
@TruthSeekingSheep The correct phrase would be "blind as a bat", brother. You're question is unclear. I could answer it if you made it less confusing. Thanks.
I have not a problem with music what bothers me is that it is not doing anything new
I liked public enemy and the like but where is the creativity in this and all music?Where is the innovation, why would God want to copy the world why not start something new? A new spiritual Godly sound why copy the world?
It is about personal taste... Wonder what they have to say about Christian Rock? or Christian heavy metal? While those styles might not be my faves... 1 As a musician I can appreciate a good composition and 2. Who am I to say what God can and cannot use to build His kingdom. I've always thought it pretty arrogant how people think they can use their personal tastes to define the value of a genre of art. We had this same debate when The Hawkins released "Oh Happy Day." RELATIONSHIPnotRELIGION!
I FEEL LIKE THIS THIS THE THINGS SUCH AS HIPHOP RAP AND OTHER MUSIC IS NOT OF GOD THIS MUSIC IS CONJURING PPL LOOK AT OUR YOUnG PPL TODAY THEY FOLLOW WHAT IS SAID IN MUSIC and we as our bother keeper are to speak against that is not of god so everything ex ministries is of truth because the generation has changed and more and more ppl are becoming ignorant to the real truth that out there
@DesireeAustin Sister, please don't base your beliefs on what you "feel". You should base it on what the Bible says. I don't think you honestly considered a single thing I said in this video, honestly. Have a good day.
@youngsagetheprogeny I feel that holy hip hop is a mimickry of hip-hop. they dress like secular hip-hop they glorify themselves by using the name of christ. God said that in the coming of the last days what is in the dark will come into the light. This is the information age. It is important to know your enemy. A lot of people worship the name brand clothing out there and become possessed by the spirit of vanity. I agree with G Craig Lewis. People feel self exalted by the way they dress.
@ArmandoCruzMusic you are free to agree with G Craig if you want. I'd rather agree with the scriptures. I don't care how right you think G Craig is...his opinions don't compare to the words in the Bible. But then again, I'm not sure the Bible is held as highly as it ought to be. And if people feel self-exalted by the way they dress, what about those in church that dress in thousand-dollar suits? I don't hear anyone saying anything about that.
@youngsagetheprogeny the way people dress in and out of church is another subject. It seems your feeling guilty about something. How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.
@youngsagetheprogeny contd...to a style like soul/r&b, bc thats what they identify with... Just like if u were to go into a white church the style of would reflect the style of singing they identify with. U can play the blame game all day. Well they do this, and did u know that such and so does that. But the root of the issue is not even being addressed bc of flat out vanity and people wantng to follow their hearts rather than God. Should christians endorse "Holy" hip hop? as rec. or worship
@loganorin If you want to talk style, then of course you cannot expect Generation X & Y to appreciate hymns. On the same hand, you can't expect the Civil Rights generation to appreciate gospel rap. The root of the issue is what it always has been: OLDER SAINTS WANT EVERYONE TO CONFORM TO THEIR WAYS AND TRADITIONS INSTEAD OF WANTING PEOPLE TO CONFORM SIMPLY TO THE LORD JESUS. Gospel rap, holy hip hop or whatever you want to call it represents a refusal to do the aforementioned. So now what?
Brothers and sisters, I beg you to search the scriptures in context for yourselves (or at least gravitate towards teachers that teach the scriptures, word for word, verse by verse.) Hip-hop...rap...whatever you call it...WHATEVER. The people will call it what it is. God is glorifying Himself in a lyrical, poetic message over beats, by the messages in the scriptures. Believe it, dismiss it..whatever. Just remember the Pharisees missed Jesus.
@youngsagetheprogeny Before i get into scriptural info, i want to pose this logical point. I hear a lot of people talking about the redemtion of hip hop to make it holy. Is God set out to redeem man or the rudiments of the world? Does God want us in His Kingdom, or does he want hip hop? I dont think theres any scripture where it shows God taking an object or worldly ideal and made it holy and rigtheous.. People. Yes, cause His plan was for Christ to come so that WE(people) could be saved...
@loganorin People in church sing hymns that originally were bar tunes with rewritten lyrics. Did you know that? Did you know that "gospel music" was developed by a man who merged inspirational lyrics with the style of blues and R&B of that day? Funny thing was, the church people in that day said he was doing "devil music" and didn't accept it. But church people are singing gospel today, aren't they? By your logic, we should make our own clothes, houses and cars, right?
@youngsagetheprogeny...contd...Does that make me a hypocrit?? I guess it might. Am i putting hiphop in a worse light than r&b? of couse... Overall, I think that both are unfit to be used in the worship of God. When I'm listening to music for leasure, I have to make sure that the content of the music is not going to be a stumbling block to me. The music in a chuech is defined by the culture of the congregation. When most blacks SING a song, even one made up, it is sung in a style that is similar
@loganorin Honestly it would better to find out what the Word of God says, rather than looking to people for their opinions. God gave us the Word to determine how we are to conduct ourselves. The style of music is not an issue because scripture never says that it is. The music in a church should be relevant to the culture outside of it. Instead, the opposite is true. But then again many churches have a focus on themselves, rather than reaching souls.
@youngsagetheprogeny Now if hip hop is of worldly and evil origin, does scripture not tell us in 2 Cor that the unrighteous has no part with the righteous.?
@loganorin I feel what u think here but prove hip hop is unrighteous.Just because of few rotten ppl like krs-one and afrika baambataa that say its religion.Others dont say that.I really find this messed up.
@loganorin It's so important to read the context. Too many people in church take a verse out of its context and apply whatever meaning they want to it. I can almost guarantee that is talking about having no part in SINNING with the unrighteous. People play the tambourine, drums and the piano in church. There were no drums nor pianos mentioned in the Bible AND these things were considered worldly by the church in the past. Christians didn't invent these, but we're usin' them now, right? SMH.
@youngsagetheprogeny The book of Psalms especially as well as other books are litered with examples of various types of instruments used in the worship and praise of God. I dont think it was the instruments more than the style of music played that brought about controversy. I dont really listen to gospel music, there are a couple of songs that i like that portray the message of the truth of God's word, but i do not think that gospel is really exceptable to use in the worship of God...
@loganorin So what do you have that you can base your opinion on? Because if it's not the Bible, then what can it stand on? Your opinion has to be based on the Word as a Christian. So many people have things to say but nothing to really back it up with.
Yea Sage, we could debate this until the Second Coming. Lol. Basically we differ in interpretation. We Could be positive about this, considering the crumbling spiritual condition of our peers. In faith, may we have the courage to submit, where we take in His will. Thx Sage, I hope we commune in our afterlife. Ego-less, and full of love and God Given knowledge. And then, God will say, "he's right, your wrong"! Lol. Peace my brother
@dupree82 Amen brother. You know, I believe the Bible has the answer here. If you're right or I'm wrong...who cares? We cannot boast because any wisdom we've been entrusted has been given to us by our Father. Let us be convinced by the scriptures. God bless!
@youngsagetheprogeny My thing is that hip hop is a religion of self glorification of the black man which is in exact contradiction to what the word of god says. As G Craig Lewis said in his holy hip hop vs. christian rap "there is nothing wrong with rapping for Jesus but keep hip hop out of it" God bless you brother
We know that the men of the Bible were not infallible, but, serve their purpose they did. Jesus was infallible, so his teaching mannerisms are unquestionable, therefore, in a church setting, we only want to educate in the same fashion as God. Thx for this debate my brother in Christ.
@dupree82 If that is the case, the Lord Jesus would have openly rebuked teachers for their style of teaching along with their message. But we don't find that. What we do find is Jesus openly rebuking the teachers for their hypocrisy and expounding on the truths they presented. Look at how Jesus speaks to Nicodemus.
And even if some of the Psalms were poetic, the vast majority of the Bibles' authors taught in a basic speaking manner. This should've made it easy for the Bishops to follow as such. In the proper setting.
@dupree82 definitely true. Nowadays we find that teaching in the culture has largely taken on a different platform: through music. That is not to discount the normal method of teaching. Now people use Powerpoint presentations, as should we. Nowadays, people use media, as should we. We aren't mandated to keep up, but using antiquated methods may result in no effective results.
Well, how do we know there was some music in the background? Yes, they do teach brother, but the majority of verses lean more toward artistry and enterainment than instruction like, say the Jesus' sermon on the mount. This is why I think Holy Hip Hop should be pieces of work of art. Everyone in the church may not be able to handle your vocabulary. Instead of basic prose. And your well spoken.
@dupree82 I appreciate the compliment (soli Deo gloria! Glory to God alone.) We know there was music in the background when the writers wrote "to the chief musician.." before the Psalm began. The writers were giving an account in the Psalms. There is exhortation to worship, testimony, cries for help, etc. I would contend there is instruction in the Psalms, though less than in the epistles, per se. And those in the world teach through music, therefore providing the platform.
@dupree82 We find Paul approaching men who would gather around and toss philosophy at each other. Instead of fleeing discourse like this upon finding it in the world, Paul instead approaches it as an opportunity to introduce the gospel message in the same platform. Hip-hop is teaching our youth. It asks questions. It makes observations. It speaks a language that youth like and gravitate towards. So how receptive can we expect them to be to "Amazing Grace"?
heey brother rich my name is Kyle Valdes i am a Christian hip hop artist i dont see anything wrong with Holy Hip Hop its just preaching through a beat. God bless you brotha

Hip hop was birthed in the Bronx in the 70s and the term hip hops was due to this type of music causing women's hips to hop butt shaking....so God needs holy booty shaking to reach the lost...yeah that makes sense
solomonii0 1 month ago
@solomonii0 Romans 1:16 says the gospel is the power of God for salvation. That gospel can be put into rhyme form. Even some of the most externally pious & self-righteous people agree with that. They hate gospel rap but will tolerate and maybe even enjoy gospel poetry. If you were someone who would look past your own biases, you'd know that God is using the gospel in rhyme form to reach people worldwide. Of course He's doing it without it being in rhyme form also. (continued)
youngsagetheprogeny 1 month ago
@solomonii0 (continued) God is God. He does as He pleases. Please...gospel rap is impacting more souls evangelistically than self-righteous people locked up in four walls are doing. Let me say for the record that no one is looking for approval from people such as yourself. Not at all. Your approval is not needed. I know what God's called me to & who has ears to listen. Hopefully beyond this, you are actually evangelizing the lost and not just snubbing the unchurched self-righteously.
youngsagetheprogeny 1 month ago
Tell me who where the acknowledged founders of hip hop...and tell me how the term hip hop came to be...if you will be honest these two questions will prove my point....also you a making a nonsense point the Internet is a-moral which means that it is neither moral nor immoral it is a machine for which to communicate
solomonii0 1 month ago
@solomonii0 One, there were too many people in hip hop's beginning that are accredited with contributing to it. Two, the term "hip hop" meant more than one thing initially. Three, any true hip hop head can tell you that not all hip hop was/is about booty shaking. There are numerous thought-provoking & introspective songs, as well as story-telling music. There are amoral elements within the hip hop culture. But you would know that if you were actually a student of it, which you don't seem to be.
youngsagetheprogeny 1 month ago
It's a shame that some people believe that God doesn't have enough creativity to birth a music that can reach people...but rather default to hip hop which was birthed out of wickedness...look no further the founders of hip hop
solomonii0 1 month ago
@solomonii0 God can definitely do it. I'm not saying He can't. He has not done it as of yet. I think we can all agree there. As soon as it comes out, if I miss it, make sure you let me know so I can go support it. Wouldn't it make sense to reach people with something that the reached and the reachers both have in common? God creates AND redeems! If you can prove hip hop was birthed out of wickedness then maybe we can go from there. You ain't leavin' YouTube, the internet or the USA.. I'm sayin..

When the holy spirit leads someone to make a song and you say that song is the devil is that blasphemy??
Tnazil 2 months ago
All that we believe must be based on the WORD. That's all.
I would also ask where in the Word do we find a standard for holy instruments and styles of music? How many beats per minute does it take to make it unholy? What key do we have to sing in to be holy? The whole criticism of hip hop is based on man's laws that cannot and will never reveal God's mind.

NO. hip hop is not holy. why can't you just be a gospel rapper? why does it have to be hip hop which is secular? you can't have it both ways my love. either you are going to serve god or satan. hip hop is not holy. no mater what the title says in front of it. it comes from a evil place with secular intentions. blessings!
janedune 3 months ago
@janedune First, there's no biblical basis for "holy water". Second, people will call it whatever they wish. I really couldn't care less what it's called. Third, neither you nor anyone else who refuses to see that can actually dictate how this thing can or cannot go. This is so much bigger than you or me. Y'all will probably disagree with that. Oh well. It is what it is. Fourth, I know the God in Whom I trust. Fifth, don't be condescending in the tone of your comment. I promise I won't hear it.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@janedune you should look up "Jesus Is Alive" by Shai Linne. Read the words as the song is played here on YouTube. Then get back to me and tell me whether or not God is glorifying Himself through beats & rhymes. I hope you give it an unbiased listen.

And that's when I started to do my own research about Holy Hip Hop records. And what I found was shocking. Did you know that Lecrea has a pyramid tatooed on his arm?
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 If you are talking about his right arm then no...it's not a pyramid. It's called a Triquetra. It's symbolic of the Trinity. I can almost guarantee that what you supposedly found out about holy hip hop is unfounded & spooky superstition with almost no basis in reality (and it can probably be easily dismantled with a proper & rational biblical perspective.) But humor me anyway & let me know what you have. Thanks.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
That's the same feeling I had when I was listening to these so called christian artists. I would question myself by saying "Ok, was that necessary? What is the purpose for this or that?" I was pretty much showing question expressions throughout most of Lecrea's videos. It just didn't feel or look right. I mean I understand that you can't control your hand movements while performing, but you can control your fingers and you are well aware of the type of signs that you display with your fingers.
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 so you mean to tell me that you are completely bypassing the biblical content in these songs because of some hand gestures? I'm going to analyze the video again. I've seen it before. I'm sure some supposed "illuminati" symbols & demonic hand gestures would be hard to miss. I don't remember seeing it before. But to be honest with you, it's really not that deep.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
how many times he has held up the devil sign.
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Yeah I know about that feeling. However, we cannot simply rely on feelings sis. We have to check those feelings against the Word of God. I'll continue my response on the next comment.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Indeed if Lecrae's music is of the devil, a house divided cannot stand! Would the devil fight himself through Lecrae?
edwinkaduki 2 months ago
@ youngsagetheprogeny, that was way before I knew about what holy hip hop truly is. Now that holy hip hop is exposed, my fan-based status has dropped like 10 folds. I was shocked to know that they were influenced by the illuminait and at the same time heart broken because these artist were very strong at including biblical scriptures in hip hop music. If you analyze their music videos, you will find many signs that justifies my claim. A video called "Go Hard" by Lecrea for instance, can you see
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
Keep in mind that the devil can present himself as the angel of light and sadly his pretty much the best compromisers of the bible. Why? Because the devil hates the truth and he'll do anything to mask the real truth. And in doing that, he has the ability to deceive a nation. With that said, my question to you is, what type of music do you listen to?
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Yes the Devil comes as an angel of light. We agree there. The thing is, Satan is not going to be the one promoting the full, unadulterated gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ. If there are rappers putting the Word of God, scripturally into verses, making them rhyme over a beat...and people are hearing the Word & being ministered to, G Craige says it's worldly because it has a "hip hop" sound. Wackness! The gospel is the saving power of God, no matter the form.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
Agape!
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Wait...I just went to your page and realized that you "liked" a video by my dude Timothy Brindle called "Sinfulness of Sin". You liked that video. That is in essence what God is doing in rap. People calling it hip hop is of no consequence. People will call it whatever they will. The gospel is being preached. These rappers, whose videos you "liked" would look just like any other hip hop head if you didn't know about them, except they have been bought by Christ's blood & redeemed.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
observation, you don't really need to question where people are getting their information from; but do the research yourself in order to prove them right or wrong.
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 I have evaluated G Craige Lewis. I have evaluated music artists, both secular and "holy hip hop". Their message isn't hard to determine at all. And like you said, pinpointing what's godly from what isn't is the objective. Being worldly doesn't mean having a "hip hop" sound. Being worldly means promoting SIN. The holy hip hop artists that are up & coming don't promote SIN. They preach Christ's Word on beat in rhyming cadences. But they are labeled worldly for sounding "hip hop".
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
artists sold their soul to the devil, but what I am saying is that no matter what genre you listen to, you have to be able to evaluate what message they are really sending to the public and test whether that message is of God. And if it's not of God, the bible says that we should flea from it. 1 John 4:1 states- "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." The music videos are displayed for your

@Nigerianqueen87 Amen again.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@youngsagetheprogeny, your missing the point. The scriptures have nothing to do with clothing because obviously we as humans need clothes to cover ourselves up. Romans 12:2 states- "And be not conformed to this world: but ye be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." In other words you shouldn't just do things according to what is popular but according to what is the will of God. However I'm not saying that all
Nigerianqueen87 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Amen. We agree on that.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
craig lewis is showing love by exposing the devil's plan. he loves the sinner only hates the sin. out of love he is ministering truth. jesus spoke truth out of love for his people too. a lot of people don't know the word of god, that is why god send workers to minister and fellowship. they bring truth not hip hop. hip hop is worldly. there is no way of twisting it. the first artist to be released from hip hop, was he delivering god's message or commercial products and lust? let's wake up!
janedune 4 months ago
@janedune with all due respect, I don't think you are seeing the difference between what he's teaching and what the Bible says. The truth of the matter is that G Craige teaches Pentecostal legalism...plus there are a lot of things that he is DEAD wrong on. That is the points that I tried to make in this video.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@youngsagetheprogeny PART II if you are a christian, you should not listen to hip hop music with the word holy as it's front title. the origins of hip hop is not holy what so ever and to DARE attempt to make it holy is insane as well as demonic. i am a music producer and when i WAS worldly (i know better now) hip hop was my rap style. if you are a rapper who speaks about the word of god, that is your genre not hip hop; because the origins of hip hop has nothing to do with the word holy.
janedune 3 months ago
@janedune the origins of hip hop was words being spoken in a rhyming cadence over party music beat breaks. It started in the party atmosphere. What you're saying is like making every birthday party that isn't overtly Christian-themed out to be demon worship. Hip hop didn't start out holy just like you didn't start out holy. The gospel can be put into poetic, lyrical form. Psalms prove that. Did you know that Psalms was poetry, glorifying God, set to music? Sounds like an early version of rap.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
And when someone is successful in the spirit, they use Jesus Christ as an influence to live up to the purpose in which was Christ ordained. What is the difference between being successful in the flesh and being successful in the spirit? When someone is successful in the flesh, they seek out materialism, instead of Christ. Christ is not first when you are seeking materialism because you can't serve two Gods. You can't drink from the cup of Jesus Christ and from the cup of Satan; they don't mix.
Nigerianqueen87 4 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 ummm...okay but I'm not sure what that has to do with what I'm talking about. No disrespect to you though.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
The bible says, broad and straight is the road that leads to destruction. And narrow and straight is the road that leads to the kingdom of heaven. The bible says that we should not be of this world because Jesus Christ was not of this world. He was beaten and disrespected because he did not follow the world. There is a difference between being successful spiritually and being successful in the flesh. When someone is successful in the flesh, they use money as an influence.
Nigerianqueen87 4 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 so what does "not being of this world" mean? If it means not dressing like the world, then you've gotta tell me where you shop 'cuz everything humans wear is of this world, made in this world and made from stuff created IN THIS WORLD. That is, unless you are biased against certain name brands...I hear you. Separate conversation. Ahhh... Being separate from the world means being born again and doing the things outlined in Scripture.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
@Nigerianqueen87 Oh yeah....by the way, Jesus was beaten and crucified for OUR SIN.

It's too obvious and it seems pathetic.
kevinyankee2 4 months ago

TyHutch1978 5 months ago
@TyHutch1978 Yes Paul writes in the New Testament that we are engrafted into God's family. Read carefully family. If we were the children of Israel then Paul would not reference Israelites as if they were a separate entity from us in his writings. He would have just written "us". Have you read Romans? I believe it's chapter 8 or 9 that proves my point. Message me or something with the link to your video.

i couldnt agree wit u anymore!

Bless you!

We write music from the WORD, GODS word.
tnpbass22 5 months ago
music is like money it can be used for good and bad the bible says the love of money is the root of all evil not money its self the same for music, and we are supposed to compare all things to the word of God like you say but, i also know someone who has the holy spirit will carry their self in a certain manner.

It seems like you're trying to justify hip hop. Let's be real here. 99% of Hip Hop doesn't glorify Jesus Christ but things of the flesh.
Doesn't the scripture say to not be conformed to the world?
vizion24 5 months ago
@vizion24 when it says that, the context is talking about committing sinful acts AND it goes into detail about what specific acts are sinful. I'm not trying to justify it. It's already permissible. What I'm trying to do is point out some inconsistency with EX ministries stance when compared to scripture.
youngsagetheprogeny 5 months ago
@vizion24 he isn't glorifying hip hop...he is addressing the debate about reach records and other rappers that glorify god in every song they make who are being attacked by G. Craigs Lewis and Terio the guy who makes rant posts about lecrae, holyhip etc. *This guy is right on for the most part. as far as thinking for yourself. He isn't really saying that Lecrae an them are people to be praised and their not. He's talking about white christians that basiclay claim urban hip hop culture is satanic

@rallysoob Wait...who's talking about White Christians? I know I wasn't.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
My thing is this...if you are a man or woman of God...& you look at hip hop(the way of life...the music)...and you see how it has destroyed the lives of people...how the message in the music has corrupted the minds of our youth(and grown folk)..to know how perverted and vile the way of life is(do what thou wilt)...& in knowing this..why would any born again person want any part of it? Even moreso, why would you want to offer something connected to something so vile up to God? Y would He want it?
drashan35 3 months ago
@drashan35 Fam..look at sinful man...with all the things that he corrupted, destroyed and worshipped as a slap in the face of the One & Only Holy God...why would God want to save the vile, evil & wretched human race??? Do you see where I'm going with this??? God made redemption available to mankind. So is hip hop more vile than we are? NO!!! If before Christ, a man glorifies sin in his music, then after Christ comes in, the reborn man will glorify God in music. THE STYLE DOESN'T HAVE TO CHANGE.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago
We are sent to be ministers of Gods word not Rappers.....Rock as well as hip hop is of satan. He created it for guys like u to argue with Gods word. By the way I don't need to prove intelligence to you..just so you know.
youngsagetheprogeny 3 months ago

Crazytaru1 7 months ago
the bottom line is people need to ask themselves 'am i trying to glorify myself and live in the image the world has sold to me' .. or are they living according to the image of Christ .. almost all worldly type music is about glorifying the self - this is Luciferianism by defintion ..
wranglepuss 7 months ago
Maybe god is using the christian rappers the same way evil uses it's rappers to influence the youth and whomever else it consumes. you gotta understand there is a new breed of evil thru gangsta rap, and hiphop. now you take a hiphop like beat, pray over it , use positive words, and actually use words from the bible mix it with rhythm, and tell me that aint god fighting back for his children thru loyal young servants! well then im just gonna have to disagree with the skeptics reguardless!!

juanbellard 10 months ago
@juanbellard well what does the Word say? Malachi 3 applied to the children of Israel. The New Testament tells us simply to give. We can tithe like Abraham did to the king of Salem (pre-Law). However, telling people if they don't do it that they'll be cursed with a curse is taking Malachi 3 out of context. That's the shortest answer I can give. Of course, I'm open to scrutiny by the Word.

MrSage360 10 months ago
@MrSage360 Mister Sage, eh? Okay. Here's my thing. ALL throughout historical Christianity, the church has mainly stuck to what the scripture says. God's Word is sufficient like 2 Tim 3:16-17 says. Soooo...basically if the Bible doesn't say it, HOW CAN IT BE PROVEN TRUE??? Revelation tells us NOT to add to what the Bible says or we will face the punishment described there. You can "discern" whatever, but 1 John 4 tells us to test the spirits to distinguish between true and false.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4
3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

Peace!
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
@youngsagetheprogeny Hey brother I enjoy the comment but what viewers must understand is the MOST important thing is the message of the artists is ANOINTED. What do I mean? When you hear it, it should make you want to know more about the Lord, praise the Lord, or reflect yourself to see if you are pleasing the Lord. That goes for even churches. It must be Anointed. Just because it says God or Jesus doesn't make it holy. Check out HAZAKIM - Crucifixtion Description you'll see anointed. God Bless
Pdorcely 10 months ago
@sethontop There is no hip-hop religion. KRS One is a contributor to an overarching culture and is absolutely NOT a leader. People may follow him and follow his religion, but hip-hop does have undercurrents of individuality and consciousness. Just because Bambata says something, does not mean all hip-hoppers will follow it, and that is one of Craig's biggest mistakes in his lectures. Hip hop doesn't have any gods or spirits. Hit me up if you have more questions. I'll be glad to answer.
combknife 1 year ago
@sethontop Hip hop is NOT a religion. KRS is trying to make it one, but it is not a religion. "Holy hip hop would be holy allah." That statement doesn't really make any sense, though I do think I understand what you're trying to say. Jehovahs Witnesses understand what it is because it is recognized by EVERYONE as a religion (actually a cult derived from Christianity). Hip hop CAN'T be a religion because it is not widely recognized by everyone in it as such. It is an American subculture. Come on.

My brother in Christ, I couldn't agree with you even more on the topic regarding Holy Hip Hop. It seems that many will condemn the music and call it unholy. I have heard many different songs in Holy Hip-Hop. While it is true that some artist do mix the worldly things with the word of God within their music, there are many Holy Hip-Hop artists who had created their own beats for the song and had created their own words that are influence by the reading of the scriptures.

youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
@youngsagetheprogeny I feel that holy hip hop is a mimickry of hip-hop. they dress like secular hip-hop they glorify themselves by using the name of christ. God said that in the coming of the last days what is in the dark will come into the light. This is the information age. It is important to know your enemy. A lot of people worship the name brand clothing out there and become possessed by the spirit of vanity. I agree with G Craig Lewis. People feel self exalted by the way they dress.
ArmandoCruzMusic 1 year ago
@ArmandoCruzMusic you are free to agree with G Craig if you want. I'd rather agree with the scriptures. I don't care how right you think G Craig is...his opinions don't compare to the words in the Bible. But then again, I'm not sure the Bible is held as highly as it ought to be. And if people feel self-exalted by the way they dress, what about those in church that dress in thousand-dollar suits? I don't hear anyone saying anything about that.
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago

Should christians endorse "Holy" hip hop? as rec. or worship
loganorin 1 year ago
So now what?
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
Brothers and sisters, I beg you to search the scriptures in context for yourselves (or at least gravitate towards teachers that teach the scriptures, word for word, verse by verse.) Hip-hop...rap...whatever you call it...WHATEVER. The people will call it what it is. God is glorifying Himself in a lyrical, poetic message over beats, by the messages in the scriptures. Believe it, dismiss it..whatever. Just remember the Pharisees missed Jesus.
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
@youngsagetheprogeny Before i get into scriptural info, i want to pose this logical point. I hear a lot of people talking about the redemtion of hip hop to make it holy. Is God set out to redeem man or the rudiments of the world? Does God want us in His Kingdom, or does he want hip hop? I dont think theres any scripture where it shows God taking an object or worldly ideal and made it holy and rigtheous.. People. Yes, cause His plan was for Christ to come so that WE(people) could be saved...
loganorin 1 year ago
@loganorin People in church sing hymns that originally were bar tunes with rewritten lyrics. Did you know that? Did you know that "gospel music" was developed by a man who merged inspirational lyrics with the style of blues and R&B of that day? Funny thing was, the church people in that day said he was doing "devil music" and didn't accept it. But church people are singing gospel today, aren't they? By your logic, we should make our own clothes, houses and cars, right?
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
@youngsagetheprogeny...contd...Does that make me a hypocrit?? I guess it might. Am i putting hiphop in a worse light than r&b? of couse... Overall, I think that both are unfit to be used in the worship of God. When I'm listening to music for leasure, I have to make sure that the content of the music is not going to be a stumbling block to me. The music in a chuech is defined by the culture of the congregation. When most blacks SING a song, even one made up, it is sung in a style that is similar
loganorin 1 year ago
@loganorin Honestly it would better to find out what the Word of God says, rather than looking to people for their opinions. God gave us the Word to determine how we are to conduct ourselves. The style of music is not an issue because scripture never says that it is. The music in a church should be relevant to the culture outside of it. Instead, the opposite is true. But then again many churches have a focus on themselves, rather than reaching souls.
youngsagetheprogeny 1 year ago
@youngsagetheprogeny Now if hip hop is of worldly and evil origin, does scripture not tell us in 2 Cor that the unrighteous has no part with the righteous.?
loganorin 1 year ago
@loganorin I feel what u think here but prove hip hop is unrighteous.Just because of few rotten ppl like krs-one and afrika baambataa that say its religion.Others dont say that.I really find this messed up.
MrUrosSrb 1 year ago
