@theoneagain - Sorry it's been a while. I never drew up a circuit. This is a basic 555 ic timer circuit triggering a mosfet. The output of the mosfet is connected to an car ignition coil. The magnetic switch turns the power on to the 555 ic.
Do a search for 555 timer circuit, they're everywhere.

But how did you connect the most important thing, ...the magnet reed switch??
Do you think a simple magnet reed switch from a digital bicycle speedometer would do the job?
