I know for a fact that the Prius isn't silent even when it is running in EV. When the ICE is off and just the EV mode is active there is a very distinct "Humming" sound that comes from the electric motors. I have a 2010 Prius it makes this sound. I have been near many Prii whilst the ICE was off and my eyes closed and can clearly hear the sounds of the car. There is no need for laws to be passed to make the cars noisy. How stupid is that?

It is ridiculous to suggest "passing legislation" to force these cars to make some sort of noise. There are plenty of cars on the road who's enigines are silent and the only noise you hear from them is road noise from tires. Hybrids also make this noise. To put a blind person in this video to make a point is ludicrous, they can HEAR TIRES. These cars are NOT SILENT. It's a shame there has to be stupid people in the world.

The hybrid/electric vehicle to operate quietly until a pedestrian needs to hear it. The automotive companies spend millions of dollars to keep the cars QUIET, PASS only allows noise when it's necessary this is why it should be on demand, FYI Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills, Michigan has 2 system that they have been using for 2 years for training. but I am the inventor of PASS SYSTEMS so I am Bias, go to my you tube and see it

How about they put some better fucking brakes on these pieces of garbage. Or a horn! These cars are so damn gay that the horns sound like crap. But then again, the driver was so jacked up texting on their blackberry and taking prescription meds that they probably didn't see the kid.

If the boy was using proper hand signals and looked before turning or pulling out in fount of the car, like your supposed to do, this wouldn't have happened. They have been teaching that you look both ways in school since kindergarten class. If people would pay attention things like this wouldn't happen. kids have been walking out in fount of cars since their was kids and cars saying the same thing "I never heard it coming". This car happens to be a hybrid. Was the car invisible too?????
