so...if i got a pci motherboard to replace my AGP mothboard would i have to replace all my stuff like RAM and my graphics card? also i have no idea where to get a new motherboard.
Underneath the swirlygig is the smart thingy which is married to your motherboard. You may or may not like mom on your case but you'll love having a mother board in your case which is pretty cool... or at least it should be if the swirly gig is wurkin right. You need a big fart fan to clear the case out and a grapplix cards so's yer television can cipher out the pictures right. hookup the battery charger, grab Elly-Dee's pigtails and plug in, go fer your drive and it should work wen u get back
i have a compaq presario desk top computer it's a 5000 ser. 5420 us it has amd athlon xp processor model 1700 (1.47 ghz) 512mb sync dram. can you please tell me where can i buy a motherbord or a replacement used. my presario started to smoke. i ask a computer tech about the problem and he told me i need a new computer. i have that buy i just like to find a motherbord. can it be replace. thanks sgt6
it may be able to handle it, but there will be no performance increase. your cpu will effectively "bottleneck" your graphics card, because the old cpu can't keep up.
Depends on the configuration of your video card. It seems almost unbelievable that any mainboard now doesn't have AGP or PCI-E, but if your vid card is old enough, it will may just be PCI. However, if it's a new card and your motherboard doesn't support either PCI-E or AGP, it's probably time to upgrade your motherboard.
LOl this video just identifies shit in the computer...wow

Hi, I'm having a problem with my monitor, when I took off the CPU, and put it back in again, the monitor wouldn't turn on for some reason.
Anyone have an idea what's the problem might be?
robert5178 2 years ago
It could be the either the monitor or the GPU. If it isnt either of those then sorry SOL

KingGansta91 4 years ago
kinda. if you look closely on the board most say dimm 1 dimm 2 and so on. you want to start at one and work your way up
miro45 4 years ago 2
yupp, but iff u have 2 1gb rams and 4 ram slots it will be better iff u put one in the first slot and the second ram in de first of the second row:P

sry nub questiion but does it matter what kind of video card u buy? i mean does each computer need a specific card if i where to buy a new one?
bubblehearth11 4 years ago 2
some computers have different slots. my moms gay computer couldnt use my brothers 3 month old graphics card. my moms computer is 6 yrs old
Rasengan572 3 years ago
not really but iff u have a old computer with a old motherboard it will probably not handle a 8800 gtx for example
new9876 3 years ago
my pc is 4 years old
can it handle a 8800 GT :D ??

what setup do you have?
bascompany14 2 years ago
if u probably take it apart and replace EVERYTHING!
BigTymez1 2 years ago
It all depends on the type of motherboard you have. Some of the older cards run on an AGP port, the new one's usually run on a PCI Express slot.
