If Motown had let Claudette and Bobby do more leads with the group,(instead of all of the leads going only to Smokey), maybe their name would've stayed simply "THE MIRACLES"....and maybe THE ENTIRE GROUP would have been inducted into the Rock & Roll HALL OF FAME instead of just Smokey alone . This is a GREAT SONG...It definitely would have been a HIT.
I always felt this song was like the preamble of the Motown sound for some reason. It was recorded in '62 if I'm not mistaken. Either way, Miss Claudette sounds adorable as usual. I love the way the song echoes out at the end. It's so cute.
One of Motown's blunders: Not putting Claudette Robinson (Smokey's wife) out front more often. The sweetness of her voice & demeanor is not captured in this posting because the treble is turned down to minimum. Good song if you can hear the full treble as well as the bass.
Thank you so much for this posting. Claudette Marie Rogers is one of the most beautiful women in the world. I wish so much there was more information about her. The "First Lady of Motown" was amazing in voice, person, and appearance. God rest her beautiful soul.
