  • thanks a lot this helped so much for my science fair and project. you explained it so simple!!

  • :)))))

  • thank you

i have to do this for school!

    i had no idea

    u RoCk

  • THANK YOU!!! :)

  • so wut kind of adjustments were made to this car??

  • to make it travel a short distance of 11ish feet, do i just experiment with different measurements of shorter string???????? '____'

  • THANK YOU

  • thanks for your help bro!! :)

  • will this go ten meters?

  • Thank you. This is neat and clear.

  • So I did exactly what you did, but when I snap the trap thinger,it wont go, it just keeps doing flips. Do you know what could be wrong with it? My friends and I have to make it for science class. We don't have the lock on it to lock it. Like at the end when you flip up that lock and then it goes. We just told it down, and then we let go. Is that probably the problem?

  • @milliethemule Make sure the string on the axle is secure. Sometimes if you don't have the string on the axle tight, the car won't move forward. Also, make sure your wheels aren't loose on the axle as well. For example, if you turn the wheel, does it turn easily. Their should be a little bit of resistance.

  • thank you so much im in 7th grade and I am making this for science olympaid and I made it way to complacated but this really helped me i hope it gose 10 meters!!

  • @mrcool234567 Awesome!

  • wow, thank you sir. this really helped, I honestly had no idea how to do this project, you helped a lot. it's basic enough to follow, but it works. thanks again. it's a lot better then all the other things I've seen on here. (:

  • @theladymacabre Thank you. Glad it helped.

  • mine has to go 41 ft for me to pass and im only a freshman-___- when i touch the little bronze thing for it to go off, all it does is jump up and land on its back?help!!

  • I HOPE IT WORKS!!!!!!!...

  • How do you make the string not break? I used fishing line and when I went to set it off, the string broke and the car didn't move...do you know how to fix this? It's due tomorrow

  • could you make it so it traveled a certain distance and back by one wind?

  • Wow... i think i can actually do this!! I'm gonna get the materials over the weekend, its due tuesday omg i hope i can make it by then :))) This video was awesome great quality and explanations!

  • Thank you so much!!! It really helped me. You explain things really well. :-)

  • hey the last part when you said u fixed the string and all and the extended lever how did you do that towards the end in the second run

  • This helped a lot! Thanks! One question though, what camera did you use to film this tutorial? These four videos had excellent quality! :D

  • @asanchezstudios canon rebel t2i

  • These are really nice instructions, thanks a lot!

But how can you fix the axles so that they don't shift around in the eye hooks?

  • hey d3eusebio i loved ur video u explained everything so clearly and precisely i also loved the quality of this video but i do have a question what can i do to make this car to go say about 27 feet? please answer

  • @panesark1 You may want to use bigger wheels and a longer pull arm that pulls the string. You can use disc for wheels.

  • U SAVED MY LIFE...I had to get into a science olympiad team and U got me in!!....thanks bro!!

  • Okay So I Did Everything In The Video And My Car Wont Go ? -__-

  • thanks, you litterally saved my science olympiad event.

  • dude i freakin love you it works greatt =D i dont think i could thank you more your amazing bro

  • How long does the car take to go about 9 feet? Because I'm using this for my physics project, and to get at least a B, it has to go 9 feet in 6 seconds :|

  • Where can I get those rubber bands?

  • THANK YOU!

  • So what are the few modifications that will make it go farther than 10-20 ft? I'm doing this for a project based on distance and speed.

  • does this run more than 5meters?

  • would the mousetrap car move far or run without the rubber band?

  • what type of camera is that

  • thanks for the tutorial. i got 1 week to make this and my grade is based on speed design and distance

  • PBC!

  • what can I use to keep the wheels steady

  • i used dental floss

  • So, do you have any idea about how to make the wheels stay steady?

  • how would you get to stop at 6m?

  • I got it to go 46 ft.!!!!!!!!!!! Extra credit

  • @purestrawberrypwnage awesome!

  • 5:20 And now your car is in lock mode!!! :P WTF

  • Very nice, gonna make a car like this one but with a few changes :D Very good video thank you

  • Thanks for the video, I just had a question how did you get your car to go after you locked it, near the end when you were testing it I saw you hit the car with a stick, can you explain a little more on how you got the car to run, was it just by hitting it?

  • @misbah255 You need to set the mousetrap car in the lock position...meaning the mousetrap is set to snap if something moves on it. I just use the stick to set off the mousetrap.

  • how far did it go? without the stopping?

  • @cheapchapstick The vehicle will probably go 10-20 feet and maybe farther with a few modifications.

  • @d3eusebio could i follow these same steps if im using a rat trap?? or is it different?

  • @solstice7294

I'd think you'd follow the set up, but use bigger eye hooks, and stronger string, since a rat trap has way more power then a mouse trap, i'd be carefull though, you could snap a finger off useing one of those..

  • hey d3eusebio i tried the trick for how to take the wheels off a toy car but it didnt work im using good year toy car wheels please reply if you have any suggestions or tips other than that you were a big help to me

  • hey d3eusebio i tried the trick for how to take the wheels off a toy car but it didnt work im using good year toy car wheels

  • And when i let go of the lever to test it in my hand, the wheels move perfectly.

But my wheels are so small i cannot apply my rubberbands. Any advice man?

  • Dude my car doesnt work. It has some difrerences though.

It has Small wheels, Same size

I dont have a V brand, its some other brand, the only difference is that it has 2 metels holding the lever to give it more force.

So when i roll the string up while im holding the lever and while the car is locked on, when i let go, it just falls back or doesnt move att all. What am i suppost to do, do i have to actually assemble the trap while holding down the lever?

  • how far it can go

  • ugh i have to make a mouse trap car for physics, and it hase to go 15 or so feet, does this just mean i need to make my string longer?

  • Just watched all these videos only to figure out im not allowed to use real wheels of a manufactured item! Only handmade wheels. Any tips??

  • My mother and I thank you dearly. We waisted our entire day trying to make a mouse trap car off some stupid website, and now it's like 12:00 and we found this. Even though it's the super bowl tomorrow we're gonna follow these steps. THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU SAVED ME 100 POINTS IN PHYSICS! =) Btw love these videos, you made them fun! Please don't stop!

  • @Simmishimmy You're welcome. I'm glad this video I made during the summer has been valuable to others. Good luck in Physics. I do plan on working on other YouTube projects in the future.

  • Thanks! it Really helped me on my project!

  • @RawrBit3Me Glad you found it helpful.

  • wow this is a nice video for my project

  • Bro! U saved my grade, I spent 4 hours trying to do this other dude's video, but I couldn't do it, I came here and BAM! I win! :) Thx for making these videos, you are very helpful and you give clear instructions.

  • @oODaFreakOo haha, glad it helped you out.

  • thanks dude , my physics teacher assgined this to our class and he actually use YOUR video to show us how to construct it , thanks alot.

  • @Hellfire2664 haha, wow. Let your teacher know that I'm honored. I guess my engineering degree has some merit.

  • this helped so much man much more than any other videos with those professionals >.>

  • @GeorgeAguilar haha, thanks a lot. I tried to make this video series, even though it's long, so that anybody could make a mousetrap car.

  • every helpful, thank you!

I was wondering would you suggest to glue the ends of the string to the lever and axil?

  • @lov3abl3pinkxx It really depends. What kind of glue will you be using? The string might break off of if it is glued. However, you should still try it and see what results you get.

  • to get mine to go 25 feet I'm glueing the trap on a wider longer price of wood and using bigger wheels. I'm still using the same way to attach the axles but doing the washer technique to get an even distance b/w the wheels. and for 25 feet at max speed would you recommend twine or thin wire? thanks so much, these videos and your comments have saved me

  • @HawkeyeFan321 If your using thin wire, just make sure it's strong. If it's not, it will break under tension.

  • How would you make it go forward then backwards with just the one trigger in the beginning?

  • @aw2553 Normally if the string is connected to the lever and the back axle, and your string is short enough, the mousetrap car will go forwards then backwards. The mousetrap goes backwards when the string has been pulled all the way.

  • Do you suggest using gear for a mousetrap that is intended to go up an inclined?

  • @absolutelywonderfful If this is serious competition, then maybe a type of gear system would help, but it sounds more complicated then it needs to be. To get more power to go up an incilne. you can thicken a part of the axle where the string wraps around. The larger the back axle where the string attaches on will give the rear wheels more power.

  • I'm building a car that is supposed to go up an incline. I was wondering if I used wheels (all four) of the same size would that be a problems? Please reply soon.

  • @absolutelywonderfful Just make sure your wheels aren't too big if there the same size. If it's something similar to what I built you should be fine. Just make sure you have some type of traction by putting rubber bands on the wheels or it won't go up.

  • will this go straight for 25 feet? thanks

  • @HawkeyeFan321 This particular design--not a chance. I would need to do some modifications. This was a very, very basic build.

  • Do you think Fishing Line would be good?

  • @Tbear113093 I used Spiderwire fishing line before. It worked very well for me. It helped me win a regional competition (like 6 years ago :P )

  • Hey, how do you stop the body from moving side to side on the axle without any friction? :O

  • @lm101yrsold You can try adding some type of washer to create an even distant from the wheel to the body. This will help with the alignment. Also, if you're building a mousetrap of this size, try finding smaller calls with shorter axles. This will prevent any misalignment when it runs.

  • @d3eusebio can I use a posicle stick ? '

  • @cuteangail If you meant for the rod, I wouldn't. The popsicle stick is too large.

  • hi, do you think it would work if I put my rear eye hooks at the bottom to give my RWs a height increase, or would that be just dumb?

btw all my wheels ae the same (medicine caps since I'm not allowed wheels :P)

  • @kennygmang I don't think it's a stupid idea. I've never tried it before. It would be better if you could get slightly bigger wheels on the back. The elevation you create by putting the eyehooks on the bottom may help in distance (if that is what you are designing your car for.)

  • @d3eusebio ok thanks...I've actually tried it now...now all I'd need are some god damn vitamin bottle caps that aren't cracked :P

thanks for the vids...I prob. did this with my rents in almost half the time some of my firends did this!

  • Awsome! Do you think i can use CDs for the wheels? because im not alowed to use toys wheels.

  • @LittleKali You can use CD's, but you will need to use washers and wingnuts possibly. In addition, you may need to use a different axle.

  • thanks so much it really helped me with my project :)

  • @juliettemh thanks, I'm glad it was able to help you.

  • Ok so none of the parts are things you find around home. You had to go buy all the parts at the store.

  • thanks for helping me with a project thats due tomorrow...:)

  • @Sonarctica4lif3 Glad it was helpful.

  • hey ... thanks for making the video.... but i have a question

For maximum distance the "lever" how long should it be"???

    plz reply ASAP

  • @TurtleBboy It really depends man. Honestly the longer the lever, the more distance you'll get, but you trade off on power. So if your car only needs to travel on a flat surface, try different lengths to see what you get. Also, the size of your wheels play a large role in how far you will go as well. Obviously larger wheels will cover more distance per axle rotation, vs smaller wheels.

  • Did it run into something, or did the string run out? xD

  • @Ohnnabananna It ran into something.

  • aww thanks very much i have a project on this and this really works

dont worry about the trolls... they hatin

  • @tacohead27 Thanks, I appreciate the comment

  • how long can it go

  • what amazing excellent super rattrap car... NOT

  • any ideas

  • i built it and it doesnt work

  • Não acredito que perdi o meu tempo assistindo esta bobagem. Este cara deve ter algum problema mental e este deve ser o trabalho de conclusão do curso no manicômio!!

  • siick now take it outside and do it
