  • There will never be another Waylon Jennings ..he was the greatest!!

  • I think about the words of this song a lot. Love isn't easy. Waylon was a true musician. Compared to today's country ... no comparison.

  • Waylon was one of the great country singers of all time.I cant stand what its become nowdays. Its just another form of phony pop music and I bet Waylon is rolling in his grave.

"You never was my woman.....'caus you were never true"

That line reminds me of my old girlfriend. Got on her broom about a month ago and flew away. Hadn't hear from her until today.....when she found out about my NEW girlfriend. Haha Sweet mental revenge, Tiff. You asked for it.

  • I wouldnt give a bucket of piss for the 21 people who dislike this. ..... and anyone who listen to Waylon has to be AT THE VERY least a little bit country ya know.

  • @MrRex41591 Aint it the truth! I'm sick of hearing people say they're country fans just because they listen to Waylon Jennings!

  • Waylon the man.... but is it just me or did the bass player forget to study the song?

  • man as much as i love me some waylon jennings i have to say i love jamey johnsons verison alot better bc it sounds alot more personal and mean

  • he was cute!

  • @ronhagenees Honey, you have no idea. :-)

  • 1:36 Was....and will always be...your woman, Waylon. I've always been true.

  • Hey everyone, there's still "real country" being played all over America. Just cause you don't have it spoonfed to you through tv and radio doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Thank God I discovered punk rock at an early age. It taught me that there's more then what's being shoved in my face. So, instead of saying how much you hate so and so, why don't you get off your ass and search out the good stuff? The good country stuff is out there, I listen to it every day.

  • This is real country, and it will never die.

  • he looks quite handsome in this video

  • @MrRex41591 ha sorry i wasnt trying to argue lol i was almost areain with ya ..i didnt word that right

  • @MrRex41591 i listen to taylor revenge and i will admit i do really like her music but im in love with this old-time country sound ....the start in country and the now and i can garentee you for the rest of my life

  • of the old stuff i listen to i love it...just like i love the new stuff too. music is always chanin just like technology i mean hey i have an old record player in my room that my pappy gave me and i listen to that as well as my ipod.....just like everything else music is ever changing- we dont still listen to ragtime like we did when it was the bigtime but its still cool and not any better or any worse than what we have now

  • @MrRex41591 UGHHH... You have no idea! I listen to the music that they call "country" nowadays and I didn't realize that is what it was suppose to be. The Country Music I like is likely dead and gone forever.

  • Damn iv only saw Waylon as an outlaw but he's really young and clean cut here

  • gorgeous man..but i prefer him in his outlaw and rough and rowdy ways... The Outlaw in black.....omg perfection...llucky jesse

  • when are they gonna make a movie about his life?

  • country as hellllll

  • amazing but true, these so called country fans of today call us sick to say this is a love song

  • oh yeah simply great

  • Wow clean cut Waylon. This must have been before him, Willie and the boys flipped off Nashville and started the outlaw movement.

  • Amazing song... Shooter couldn't hold his Dad's guitar pick...

  • if you call whats out there today country.... buzzzz on you pal bs at it's best

  • @MrRex41591 hell yeah that shit aint country

  • God I'm a sucker for a love song!!! Waylon ....You the Man!!!

  • Sigh... swoooon..........

Life was so sweet back then.

  • Great Country song! If you haven't heard it, take a peak at Jamey Johnson's cover. This guy is the new outlaw of country!

  • Great song made even better by the eye candy singing it. Gorgeous man/fantastic talent.

  • Great song made even better by the eye candy singing it. Gorgeous man/fantastic talent.

  • I LOVE this song! Waylon was great.

  • What a GREAT tune!!! R.I.P. Waylon Jennings

  • Who's Taylor Swift?

  • @kielbasaman1 amen to that.

Taylor swift can fucking suck it and fade out.

  • @kielbasaman1 You dont remember her because her last name is wrong: she is Taylor SHIT XDDD

    Regards. Waylon Forever!!

  • @kielbasaman1 A cunt — nothing more, nothing less.

  • @kielbasaman1 My favorite singer.

  • @melovetorun poor poor you

  • @Unlitedsoul Why? I enjoy her music very much.

  • THIS was the Waylon I went completely nuts over and named my first son after!!! He was SO gorgeous back then and could sing like NO one else!!!

  • Can't believe how clean cut Waylon is here! What a handsome man he was!

  • @MrRex41591 agree with you too bud. todays country is just pop music with country guitar licks. where the fucks the fiddles, banjos, and harp?

  • @MrRex41591 I totally agree. I do like some of the new stuff but prefer the oldies. Music that has meaning and feeling.

  • This is pure musical craftsmanship at it's best....liten to his voice with no reverb at all....f@#$#g amazing

  • Epic.

  • who the heck is taylor swift?

  • Dang Waylon and Kris were sure a couple of handsome bucks in their youth.

  • This is country.

  • He tells this girl that he's going to have sweet mental revenge like he's offering her a bouquet of flowers. Ha ha!

  • never seen him so young.. he is so good .. love his music .. jamey johnson is bringing all the good ones back.. praise the lord!!!

  • @MrRex41591 afuckingreed this new country aint nothing but pretty boy queers lol

  • Twang away Waylon!

  • I hate to say it, but taylor swift is country music, people used to talk shit about Waylon compared to Bob Wills and Hank williams, in 30 years country music will be two bisexual monkeys finger banging a midget on a snare drum

  • 7 year anniversary of Waylon's death. RIP, the Original Outlaw of Country.

  • Something you gotta understand, waylon was part of the "outlaw" movement. It was willie nelson, waylon jennings, tom paul, and kris kristofferson who started the outlaw country music. Others would follow, like hank jr, johnny paycheck and the like. Waylon was snubbed by nashville for going this route and wanting to sing hisd songs they way he wanted too. when told by nashville to get out more or less, he told them "someday you'll call my name and i wont be there". they did, he wasnt

  • FUCKIN WAYLON DOES IT AGAIN

  • @outbackredd we agree. And I'm not ripping you. The thing is at some of these shows, it is almost ALL the people talk about. "Oh, that Kenny Chesney sucks" or whomever else the flavor of the month is at that time. I don't care about what we DON'T like. I care about what we DO like.

I don't listen to Willie on Sirius to hear people bitch about contemporary country. I listen for the music I enjoy. Dig?

  • sexy sexy sexy

  • bitter country - I LOVE IT

  • Before I'll pray for you

  • Waylon did this even better than Mel Tillis himself, and he wrote the song.

  • @landrykkb Waylon had a knack for covering songs and making them sound better than the original.

  • You Tube, why is there no LOVE button??!!

  • listn to whitey morgan and the 78,s there good.

  • Thanks for the songs and the uncompromising style Waylon.

  • can someone post me a intro tab for this one? it would have been so cool to learn it.

  • @jhhi44 Jamey Johnson is OK, but he's no Dale Watson.

  • great song.. waylon is the best

  • 21 people got drunk and lost their job

  • This clip is better then the live version "Mental Revenge" i found on Spotify!

  • awseome song . truth. hank 111 is cool 2.

  • love it

  • isn't this a awesome song ?

  • Waylon was one smooth dude. Shooter is good but his momma and daddy were something else.

  • Waylon was a true picker.

  • Yes, Yes, Country ain't Country anymore, an' they been a'sayin' that since the 50's

    You Morons.

  • 21 People got Watasha's mental revenge

  • Waylon was the best at what he did, but that doesn't mean everyone has to aspire to be a Waylon Jennings. Take Taylor Swift for the country-pop that she is, and if you don't like her, don't listen to her. But whether the executives in Nashville label her "country" or not is of no great importance. Country-pop has existed since at least the 1960s, and the country-pop of today is no worse than it was 50 years ago.

Waylon's legacy sure as hell does not depend on people bashing Taylor Swift.

  • @countrymusicswing

Exactly and plenty of artists who were in what was the popular mainstream have crossed into country, ala Cash, Elvis, Conway, Rogers etc etc. The trouble with today is that the pop stuff is what dominates sales and then drives the direction of the whole industry (radio, labels, new artists). A prime example is the ladies on RCA/Sony since Carrie hit have done nothing, other than Miranda. Reba joins TS's label is more pop than ever. Thank goodness for Sunny S and Jamey J!

  • @countrymusicswing man, you hit it there. There is a kind of person out there who proclaims their love of country music by ripping on whatever pop-country that is out at the time. I ignore it. But go to a Dale Watson or Hank III show and that's all half the idiots there can talk about. How much this or that sucks. Basing your musical taste on hating something else is weak. I'm at a show to enjoy the music, not rip on something being played elsewhere.

  • @countrymusicswing F%%k You and that C%%t taylor shiit!!!!!

  • @countrymusicswing

finally someone says something intelligent on a music video comment. Thumbs way up to you sir/maam!

  • @copenhagenpothead I appreciate the support. Frankly, I am tired of these internet tough guys who feel like loving old country music necessarily means hating new stuff. Yes, I like Waylon Jennings' music more than Taylor Swift's, but I cannot pretend that I do not enjoy Taylor Swift from time to time. She is different than Waylon's and should not be compared to Waylon. Anyone who hates Taylor Swift because she is "ruining" country music is just insecure about their own musical interests.

  • @countrymusicswing I wish all the people who argue popularity/talent/legacy on countless youtube videos would start thinking like this. You don't have to bash one artist to prove another's worth!

  • @countrymusicswing Eloquently put good sir.

  • @countrymusicswing Johnny cash and waylon is the best artists that have ever walked the earth.

  • @countrymusicswing: "and the country-pop of today is no worse than it was 50 years ago"

    Disagree.

  • Yes, its over bro. , america has lost its rebel BALLS ! JEWS IN THEIR jeweELERY STORES continue to support ISRAEL ABOVE AND BEYOND that of the land that made israel possible, american JEWS with derivitive holoco$t history have redeemed their so called hitler experience , by acheiving huge benefits with retirement in their stolen land ,given by god to his choosen people ,with jewelery store fortunes ta boot !

  • @sandhogy

    You are a sick fuck.

  • Comment removed

  • @sandhogy amen brother, amen.

  • Cuntry is owned and controlled by Hollywood/NYC.

Country music or movies has to come from our folks themselves are won't any thing worth hearing or seeing.

  • I was brought here because I heard Jamey Johnsons cover on "The Guitar Song" album. It isn't as good as the original, but you should still check out the album.

  • @MrVento23 i love Jamey's version.

  • my ex wife took dont take your love to town, for hers i took this

  • These fellows like Waylon, Jerry Reed, Hank Jr..etc. are what country music is all about.

  • this would be considered wrong to todays pussy ass country singers

  • Jamey Johnson covers this on his new album...a bluesy acoustic jam....Awesome

  • Mel Tillis wrote this for Waylon...lmao...great lyrics.

  • I love this man sure was a very good singer and still is. god bless him

  • @debbie2437

He isn't a good singer anymore, he's dead.

  • @cowboy5632 just cause hes dead dont mean he aint a good singer

  • @KruleHillBilly

Can't argue with stupidity, saying he is a good singer means that he is presently a good singer, he is dead.. he can't sing anymore.. therefore he WAS a good singer

  • @cowboy5632 no sir u are wrong!!! waylon is like elvis he aint dead he just went home!! if there was a god of country music this is him!! and he IS a good singer cuz waylon will never die!!!!

  • I thought I had heard all of Waylons songs but i was wrong! My 17 yr. old son loves all the "REAL WOMEN & MEN OF COUNTRY" that is all he listens to.. I LOVE THIS SONG & VIDEO CLIP!

  • @riley5617 It sounds like your boy has more sense than most his age. I see kids listening to that God awful rap noise, heavy metal screaming or pop mess that calls itself country and think "these kids have no idea what REAL music even is". The old timers like Waylon, Willie, Jerry Reed, Hank Jr. etc. were musicians with talent which is more than I can say for most of these nitwits on stage nowadays.

  • @ridgerunner721601 Thank You! I pick on him sometimes about he should of been born in a different era but he's a good kid and you never know it could be partly because he listens to good old country music instead of the other more explicit lyrics of some of the "stuff" they have out these days

  • @riley5617 Well it sounds like you did a good job of raising the boy too Riley. Too often nowadays it looks like parents just give up. They see their kids acting like gangbanger trash and don't even bother trying to steer them the right way. Kudos to both you and your son. I think all of us who see how things are going nowadays are thinking we were born in the wrong era. I know I do.
