that split as you call it is double overhead cam that Honda went to in 1978 still with the back drum brake,as the guy doesn't state year I'm assuming it's a 1978 or 1979 honda cb750 as 1980 they went to rear disc brake
go to google images and search 1979 cb750 ,I say 1978 as sep 78 is when the 79 models came out in dealers,so from sep 78 to sep 80 honda made and sold the same bike in this vid with a rear drum and double overhead cam as well as the nighthawk

I had another 750 back in 90 and it sounded like that, it was a black header that ended up in a megatone. Where did you get your headers?? Do you have that information? Thanks.
