Without the greenhouse effect the temperature of our planet would be around 60 degrees F colder, the blackbody temperature of earth. Now, since the 1800's the temperature is said to have increased about .7 - 1.4 degrees F. The claim is that it is man-made greenhouse gases that are the cause and that the acceleration will BECOME rapid if we do nothing. It is inconvenient to them to state we need these gases in the first place which is why it is rarely stated. CO2 is especially important to earth.

And no, this is not normal, but it is important that we look at his actions, not what he says. For example, him saying he was going to make sure a work wasn't going to be published, even if he had to redefine peer-review. The work did get published so he did not do what he said.
The temporary resignation is to save face in case he can get away with it. But its more likely that he will be charged with a crime and it will be a permenant resignation. And he did resist multiple freedom of info requests. Why resist. Sometimes we can gleem more from what between the lines. It seems like your trying not to read between the lines. I did not look up info on climategate just to debate deniers, I did it because I was curious and because I'm not so biased to ignore contrary evidence. However I was not convinced and it just didn't invalidate any of the evidence for AGW, they are far from the only scientists researching climate. Please make an informed decision and read the relevant literature pertaining to climate science.

These spikes in temperature are caused by solar activity! This is a fact. The other planets temps rose at the same time "AGW" caused our planets temp to rise. Whats so hard to understand about this. If you zoom in on that graph Gore shows in his movie you see CO2 rising after the temps rise. Ever step of the way

You're probably talking about Mars, this supposed GW is not happening as you can not infer it on basis of a 3 Martian year regional trend. Also the multitude of differences between Mars (e.g.temps are far less stable) and Earth make comparisons difficult.
Yes, first of all, this cooling in a ten year period could easily be attributed to natural variability (even with global warming, there will still be cold periods, though fewer in number).
Second, this "cooling graph" is not attained when using other data (other data even shows a slight rise). This special graph is often cherrypicked as a counterargument to GW, but it's not a really good one.
If mans effect on GW is so strong then how could natural variablility have a greater effect now? How does the earth not get warmer without pollution stopping?
Even when there is GW one year may be colder than the previous year, not because there is no global warming, but because there is a variability at work. For instance, in absence of GW the chance the next year will be colder is 50%, if there is GW the chance could be somewhat like 40%. There's still a chance, but less. The mean temperature over a large period however, is rising.
You can't say the globe is warming when it isn't. Your talk of percentages is a rationalization. Global warming means the earth is getting warm, its not an elemental effect like in a role playing game.
Well you can't say global warming isn't true because today was colder than yesterday. Again, when looking at a larger period, the temperature rise is unmistakable and this is what's important. Climate is always seen over larger periods of time, weather is seen over shorter periods.
And if your going to look at larger scales then look back to the 70s when global cooling was the big thing. Under your logic couldn't you argue that the warmer temps as of recent are a natural veriability of global cooling?

Your analogy is a false one. First of all, it is not entirely clear from the documents that actual manipulation has taken place. Second, even if this manipulation took place, it is entirely unfair and disingenuous to generalize the misconduct of this one scientist to all climate scientists. Nothing in the documents invalidates any theory or model that has been developed, all the buzz about this hack is extremely overrated.
I think it is great that people around the world are starting to research issues(not just GW/CC) for themselves and come to their own conclusions instead of blindly just going along with whatever is just put out by the MSM of their respective countries. As for human CO2 emissions, about 40% is being absorbed, mostly by the oceans. The rest remains in the atmosphere. As a consequence, atmospheric CO2 is at its highest level over the past 800,000 years (Brook 2008). A natural change of 100ppm takes 5,000 to 20,000 years. The recent increase of 100ppm has taken just 120 years.

@vektork They weren't independent. Muir and Oxburgh were set up by UEA. Oxburgh has numerous financial interests Big Green (Chairman of CCS assoc. Flack Renewables & Blue NG). The Muir report was mostly written by climate alarmist Geoffrey Boulton who worked at UEA for 18 years & presented a 'Facing Up To climate Change' conference with CRU as recently as Oct 2009. Boulton was the only one who questioned his colleague Phil Jones. He was never asked about his infamous 'delete all emails' request.

People need to understand glacial melting. If the glaciers melt the temperature goes down for a few years, then it will start warming up again. Then the world temperature will be different from the three years before. Then when more glaciers melt the temp. will get cool again then after it heats up again it will be even hotter. The religious are the only ones rebutting global warming. They need to leave god out of it so that our human race wont kill itself off. God won't answer your prayers.

If it was getting warmer you would expect the citrus belt to be moving northward towards georgia has temperatures became more hospitable to citrus trees. Without the greenhouse effect the temperature of our planet would be around 60 degrees F colder, the blackbody temperature of earth. Now, since the 1800's the temperature is said to have increased about .7 - 1.4 degrees F. The claim is that it is man-made greenhouse gases that are the cause and that the acceleration will BECOME rapid if we do nothing. It is inconvenient to them to state we need these gases in the first place which is why it is rarely stated. CO2 is especially important to earth.

I honestly have no clue, I don't know him, but he's probably taking heavy fire as it is. Also his resignation is temporary if I'm not mistaken.
And no, this is not normal, but it is important that we look at his actions, not what he says. For example, him saying he was going to make sure a work wasn't going to be published, even if he had to redefine peer-review. The work did get published so he did not do what he said.

I did not look up info on climategate just to debate deniers, I did it because I was curious and because I'm not so biased to ignore contrary evidence. However I was not convinced and it just didn't invalidate any of the evidence for AGW, they are far from the only scientists researching climate. Please make an informed decision and read the relevant literature pertaining to climate science.

These spikes in temperature are caused by solar activity! This is a fact. The other planets temps rose at the same time "AGW" caused our planets temp to rise. Whats so hard to understand about this. If you zoom in on that graph Gore shows in his movie you see CO2 rising after the temps rise. Ever step of the way

This CO2 level rise has always been explained by the positive feedback loops. When temp rises, more CO2 will be released.
Solar activity does add to global warming, yet is not sufficient to explain it all.
You're probably talking about Mars, this supposed GW is not happening as you can not infer it on basis of a 3 Martian year regional trend. Also the multitude of differences between Mars (e.g.temps are far less stable) and Earth make comparisons difficult.

Yes, first of all, this cooling in a ten year period could easily be attributed to natural variability (even with global warming, there will still be cold periods, though fewer in number).
Second, this "cooling graph" is not attained when using other data (other data even shows a slight rise). This special graph is often cherrypicked as a counterargument to GW, but it's not a really good one.

Even when there is GW one year may be colder than the previous year, not because there is no global warming, but because there is a variability at work. For instance, in absence of GW the chance the next year will be colder is 50%, if there is GW the chance could be somewhat like 40%. There's still a chance, but less. The mean temperature over a large period however, is rising.

Your analogy is a false one. First of all, it is not entirely clear from the documents that actual manipulation has taken place. Second, even if this manipulation took place, it is entirely unfair and disingenuous to generalize the misconduct of this one scientist to all climate scientists. Nothing in the documents invalidates any theory or model that has been developed, all the buzz about this hack is extremely overrated.

2: temps have fallen the past 10 years while CO2 continues to rise.
3: periods of much warmer/cooler weather (and higher/lower CO2) have existed over 20,000+ years.
4: planets warm/cool together, which means warming/cooling is primarily caused by the sun.

In the past during a major Ice Age in the Ordovician Period CO2 levels were nearly11+ TIMES what they are today at 4400ppm and THERE WAS AN ICE AGE HAPPENING. It wasn't warm/hot. We are at 387ppm it was 4400ppm. LOOK IT UP!

When they are being funded by the UN to not just give them the data they want for their agenda, but also eliminate by discrediting the competition, that means you get more status and power in your department. THey sure do but CO2 only makes up 0.0054 procent of the atmosphere anyway, and if you count the part we humans are putting out its and even smaller part of that.

Maybe that has been the goal all along. Since they cannot be controlled through force they will be ultimately controlled by economic means. If a country that has relied on 80% of its revenues coming from selling a single product and that product suddenly becomes irrelevent that country will find itself at the mercy of those countries with continuing wealth to support it. So basically its an expansion of the welfare state just on a global scale. Its gonna be a wild ride.
