  • these guys blow me away! fuckin FANTASTIC!!!

  • The mix is kinda erratic, with Ernie being almost inaudible in places. But it's a pretty cool performance just the same.

  • LISTEN YOUTUBE THEY NEED TO PUT SOME OLD SCHOOL EXCERCISE TAPES TOGETHER I REALLY THINK THEY WOULD MAKE SOME MONEY, THIS MUSIC IS SO GOOD THAT IT MAKES YOU WANTA GOTTA MOVE, I CAN SEE YOU BURNING SOME SERIOUS CALORIES. HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY

  • Not being able to hear Ernie makes this video unwatchable.

  • This is the mighty, mighty Isley Brothers! Thanks Johnny Blackwell for introducing me to these hard-funking crew back in the 1970s when they switched from Rock & Roll to funk. R.I.P. Johnny.

  • Absolute seduction from Cincinnati! Mr.Big was certainly a player in The 70's, and this tune proves it. We miss you, Mr. Big!

  • Ohhhhhh, that octave box in the electric guitar solo.

(And those boxes are considered collecter's items).

It was possibly owned by Jimi Hendrix.

  • @citysims You're so right, Eddie indeed learned from Hendrix. As a matter of fact, Jimi Hendrix toured with the Isley Brothers back in the sixties.

  • Jimi taught Ernie I dont care what none of you Idiots say! I lived and listened in that era and I know that Ernie was his protege'.

  • When Jimi was broke the Isley's took him in as a brother, he lived with them and the young Ernie Isley became his protege.... WOW these guys are amazing.....

  • @originalmazda : This is a re-post of one of my comments from one of Ernie's clips on YouTube.

"According to several interviews I read, Ernie himself pretty much debunks the myth of Hendrix actually showing him anything on guitar. He wasn't even playing guitar yet in the period Jimi lived with them. He sited Jose Feliciano's version of "Light My Fire" as what inspired him to pick up the guitar.

Hendrix was a very important influence later on.

  • Damn look at Jimi Hendrix Go on that guitar solo!!! Wooo!!! Hooo!!!! = 0

  • @Psychedelic925 That's not Jimi, it's their brother, Ernie

  • I love the way they leave it ALL on the stage! How can anyone not be excited after watching a session like that? Back to back songs too? These artists nowadays would never do it like that with real instruments.

  • You have an absolutely breathtaking hiney

  • RIP MARVIN ISLEY 1953-2010 AND

    O'KELLY ISLEY 1938 1986

  • @playsbass1969 Amen - the Isleys will never be the same without O'Kelly and Marvin

  • one of the finest guitar solo,s ever...

  • @paulmack9999 absolutely! He learned with Jimi and took it to his own levels!

  • These captured my imagination wheny I was a youngster and have not let go since.

  • ERNIE , NEED I SAY MORE

  • This is when music was music!

  • Can't hear lead guitar that well.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip From The 119th Edition Of "Soul Train" On December 14, 1974.

  • VINTAGE SOUL from the masters! The Isleys raw and in real time. It don't get better than this. These kids today need to take notes and see how its really done.

  • ernie was getting down , PAR-TAY

  • Sounds great...R.I.P. Marvin ...

  • RIP Marvin Isley. He passed away Jun 6 2010 at age 56.

  • You just don't see family acts now like back in the day. And a lot were singers AND musicians to boot. The Jackson 5, Isley Brothers, Sylvers, Staple Singers, Sister Sledge, The Emotions, Gladys Knight & the Pips. I know I'm forgetting some, but it seems to be a testament to the break down of family these days. You just don't see the same level of creativity. I'm sure it was that selflessness you got from having to share and get along growing up. I really miss it.

  • @msreenie I kno what u mean, I'm thrilled to be a 70's child and them :)

  • @msreenie Everybody's tryna be a SOLO STAR...I miss the family acts too.

Mary Mary, Kindred, Ashford & Simpson, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. are also family acts.

  • @MsTexas73 Thanks. I knew I was forgetting some. And you're right it's like nobody wants to pay dues or share the spotlight.

  • @msreenie Also ..Sly and Family Stone , Kool and the Gang - Mandrill - Earth , Wind , and Fire - had family members in their groups.

  • @freein2339 Yeah, those were some great ones too. So much great music from those family groups!

  • i would'nt trade those days for anything in the world america was rocking then, eveyone was having fun its gone 70's and the 60;s wow america rocked then nothing now.

  • this rocked my world

  • Real fine lady--no doubt. What a live delivery. The energy is unbelievable.

  • A young Ernie is just killing the guitar on his solo!

  • All artist need to watch this before they perform live..This is how you rock a show...i would have payed top dollar to see this live...They was so gone....

  • oh hell to the yea ...i wasnt even born but i appreciate real music...thnx 4 this
