@eccourenix you probably need to change the file type either that or your using the wrong codec. Are you using avi? I've had problems with that.

@XThosexRainyxDaysX you have to save it with a project, and if you have too much in your bin sony vegas tends to crash - just use videos you are actually using in the timeline and organise explorer for access to other videos. Unless anyone has any better methods ?XD

Is avi. type files not allowed in Sony Vegas? I mean, when I open a media file that is in avi. format it won't show up. It says "stream attributes can not be" while I'm under the Import Media box. Is there a button or option somewhere that will allow me to import any type of media file? mpeg, avi, etc.

@Rezzmari I found the solution of this problem! If you have 64-bit windows and 64-bit version of Sony Vegas you should do the following:

Uninstall all video codecs, google "K-Lite mega codec pack", choose first result, Scroll down, download and install codecs for 64-bit systems.

You just have to install the right codecs!

You spent a minute and ten seconds on the sweep button.

SWEEP BUTTON: Click it when you are done editing, it will delete everything thats not in your project to keep it clean.

someone please help, when i render as in vegas 9 pro in HD, vegas always ends up saying that there is not enough system memory half way through the rendering, but i have 800GB left of HDD space, and 6 GB of ram, with a 1GB ATI radeon graphics card. also, after i have clicked cancel, the part of the video which has been rendered up to when it failed is only in 480p. what am I doing wrong?

because my default vegas decided to check a preference that turns media offline when u siwtch to another program. To fix this, click on options -> preferences -> general tab -> then UNCHECK "close media files when not the active application"

It's embarassing but I didn't know that you can actually create subclips in Vegas. I was using VirtualDubMod up until now for this task. It's cool that you're showing us the basics instead of jumping immediately to the super-fancy video effects and stuffs like that.(but of course I hope you'll cover that too in the future :) )

And those who don't want to hear the advertising parts of the videos, just skip it instead of complaining about minor stuffs.

well in sony vegas pro 9 (program i use ) i turn the audio mute and when you finish the video after you put all the other stuff when you will wach it you will find out that none of the old video atached audio id gone .
