  • I think Gerald and emmy did a fantastic job!! better than all the others.. i guess I just don't like the sound Sarah gives, she sounds like a cow... absolutenly no offence!

  • i think the phantom and Christine would have been a good stage couple. but her and raoul one in real life.

  • Haha. It's funny how the top comment is about the Phantom being together with Christine....again.

  • I love musicals but I've yet to see one that has the effect on me that POTO does.

  • Please. This little girl does not do this piece justice. Best left to the ONLY Christine: Sarah Brightman

  • @jdaveyw If you don't like this, don't look. Is it that difficult to click the little cross in the corner of your computer screen? Click it and this goes away.

  • No matter that Erik tried to kill Raoul and he had killed a few people, I still liked him a lot better than Raoul. I think he deserved Christine...

  • i get to sing this song in choir. :D

  • RIP dad <3 wishing you were somehow here again, this song explains everything so perfectly

  • am i the only African American that listens to this music ive always had a taste for such beautiful work it connects with my inner thoughts and emotions more then any other music

  • I have a friend who can sing this really well. Jealous as f£$%, and I wish my voice is as good as both of their's. >:(

  • I wish I could express how much this song reminds me of a guy I used to know.

  • Sometimes I watch this just to hear Wandering Child at the end

  • probly not the best clothes suited for a snow day, but hey

  • every time i hear this song, tears well up a bit...i love it

  • @cck980 it is paradoxical because the movie ended off where it started so the movie ended off where it started

  • I wish she didn't die in the padoxical end/beginning

  • @Craptacular1116 How is it Paradoxical?

  • THIS IS SO SAD!!!! T-T

  • I Thank my parents for listening to this song when i was little.

Or else I wouldn't know it existed and realized how beautiful music can be.

I will play this for my kids when i grow up and gonna be a father.

So they will experience that kind of music as well.

  • FOR MY BELOVED BROTHER.

  • This is my face scene along with every other. But I like this one because I can relate to it. I lost my father 2 years ago and this song is one on my life playlist.

  • The verses give me the heebie jeebies ;)

  • I could listen to this over and over again about a million times!

  • stupid dust in my eye!

  • I think that this video is very emotionaly and this cmentary is made very well. all this scene is very very heartbraking

  • Im not saying Anne Hathawy is a better singer, but she would be better for the role as whe is WAY hotter

  • @TigersUnleashed I LOVE this song its so wonderfully sung it made me cry.

  • @TigersUnleashed Well, i bet your a TERRIBLE singer! So don't even complain!!! You little slut!

  • @ChristineDaee1 wtf is your problem? the fact thatt you have nothing better to do than to prey on people on fucking YOUTUBE shows that you're hopeless. Get a life and stop picking on random people for no reason.

  • aww sweet! this includes the epic sword fight scene! *clicks Like, clicks Favorite*

  • i'm doing this for solo ensemble in march and i'm an alto and i definetly CANNOT hit her notes! does anybody know how to transpose music lower or something? if u could that'd be great. and also, do u know any other solo's that Christine sings? thanks again.

  • the top comment is stupid why would you be thinking of doctor who when your listening to such a sad heartbreaking song >: (

  • My boyfriend is dying of cancer...Someday, I know this song is going to make me cry even more than it already does...And it hurts...

  • @TriguanaraptorW

I am so sorry about your boyfriend. I lost my grandmother to cancer, so I can relate to what you're going through. Be strong and let him know he has people who love him and they're better people for having known him.

  • @TriguanaraptorW lets hope your boy recovers even if not he is gonna take care of you always :)

  • For a second violinist, he sure can afford a big tombstone. :P

  • This song was played at my Grandads funeral last month, reminds me of him whenever i hear it♥

  • isit "try to forgive teach me to live, give me the strength to, cry or try" ??

  • @spayne2003 its try.

  • @potentialrockerchick thank you :)

  • @spayne2003 np.

  • @spayne2003 It's "Try to forgive, teach me to live. Give me the strength to try"

  • Emmy Rossum was 16 when filming started and 17 or 18 when filming finished

  • I love it when Gerard butler goes angel! Omg I love this movie.. It's my favorite one!!!!!

  • Raoul, stop cockblocking.

  • @MimiLind724 LOL, here I was, sad and touched by the song, then I scroll down and see your comment and fall off my chair laughing

  • @Surakemastura

    It be the truth :)

  • raoul move on the phantom has a better voice than you

  • im crying its such beautiful song ;)

  • For a change, please listen to Becky Jane Taylor singing this song in an Alfie Boe concert. Search YouTube for: " Alfie Boe Bournemouth. Image".

  • Is it my imagination or is the part with Christine and the Phantom singing longer than in the movie??

  • I remember seeing this movie for the very first time...i instantly fell in love <3

  • No movie has truly made me cry. I mean NO sad move...but this movie was the first that actually made me feel the powerful emotions behind it because of it's amazing and timeless music. Music is so powerful. I cried like a baby the whole movie. It's a masterpiece.

  • This has been my favorite movie for five years. I've read the original novel five times, reals the story of the Phantom's like six times. I've seen an adaption of this on stage. I've watched the silent film version...yet I haven't seen this actual musical live. -:(

  • WEEPING ANGELS!!!! RUN AWAY!!! (jks)

Lovely song though.... but the statues do freak me out a bit...

  • This song makes me cry. So beautiful!

  • this is probably the best song andrew lloyd webber ever wrote

  • Am i the only one creeped out that a statue is going to move suddenly when they point to it? Oh a christine.. Going in to a foggy graveyard at noght witg now protection and signing to an anonymous voice.... Good plan? Bad plan? What do you think :)

  • 4:10 the phantom returns!!!

  • Maybe its superstrange, but i used to be way to sraced to go into a graveyard at night like this, but now my grandfather died , hes theres - i go there all the time without fear... Like his spector could save me from anything

  • christine...it's cold, you have on a scarf, gloves, and a coat. and yet you don't cover your boobs

  • I can sing along and match the notes but no one will ever be able to do this scene more amazing then her.

oh and btw raoul u need to friken get a new girlfreind she belonged to Erik waay before u bro!

  • @MyOwnEnding cough sarah brightman or pretty much anyone who actually does it on stage

  • @MyOwnEnding You know, except for that one part of her life where she grew up with Raoul as her childhood sweetheart. No big deal, or anything like that.

  • @MyOwnEnding Please don't say that Christine belonged to the Phantom. The Phantom had an obsessive love with her, trapping her within his world. However, Christine didn't return that love. She thought that he was the Angel of Music that her father had sent her, or in other words, the re-incarnation of her father. Raoul and Christine actually shared history as "child-hood sweethearts" when her father was still alive before ever meeting the Phantom. Study the damn literature.

  • @Kandarew i wouldn't call it an obsessive love, although i do get your point, she never truly belonged to the phantom, but she was enchanted by him, and that's the kind of love they shared, an enchantment, using music with in the musical, the phantoms love though it may seem obsessive is only that way because Christine is one of the few people who brings happiness to him, which is why in the end he lets her go, he realises he's only happy when she is, how can he be happy when his love isn't?

  • @spayne2003 It is true that in the end, he realizes that her happiness is his. However, up until that moment when she shows him compassion, he didn't see it that way. He thought that she belonged to him. I probably didn't describe it well...had to use one word descriptions because of the character limit. =/

  • @Kandarew THANK YOU.

  • @MyOwnEnding

Omg. I can hit the notes, but my voice is just not pretty enough for this song.

  • how does she make her voice go up and down on some notes? i really want to do that

  • always making me cry.

fuck off raoul ): leave 'em alone!

  • I have to sing this for choir; I don't know how though, seeing as it reminds me of my Gran who died in April and I cry every time i hear it...

  • This song is so beautiful song. I feel bad for Christine, because my Grandmother passed a few months ago:( I'm crying......... i love this song.... I wish they would of played it at her funaral:(

  • I have to watch this movie.... NOW!!

  • Favorite Movie .<3

  • I love this whole movie, but it's mostly music, and not a lot of non singing dialog. I just want to take all the actual talking out and download all of the singing, which is most of the movie.

  • Essas tais lágrimas já não se derramam mais, sabe pq? Pq vc está aqui novamente e para sempre agora =) EU TE AMO ALINE :)

  • okay....anybody else here thinking if they were in that graveyrd they'd be scared to blink? thos statues are way scary. (dr. who fans unite! woo!)

  • @happyllama15 I agree whole heartedly.

  • @happyllama15

I totally agree!! That's what I was thinking! (Whovians united!) :)

  • @happyllama15 ohmy. I was just extremely sad (listening to this song didn't help), but your comment just made everything SO much better. I'm a HUGE Dr. Who fan. THANK YOU!

  • aghh.... this has me crying... playing this for my piano lesson. i've never heard it though... :'(

    god i've been missing out..

  • <3

  • Emmy Rossum's voice never fails to give me chills.

  • don't blink.

  • A most magical sort of music.I love the old Victorian cemetery..

..Veiled figures of Weping angels..It's cold..Snow in the heart..

Beaucause at this level you now what it feals like to lose someone.

  • @mehiko11 beucause at this level you now what it feels when to lose someone.

  • @mehiko11 know.

  • This is a great song. I lost my father last year to brain cancer and it's still hard no matter how long it's been. This is a very meaningful song to me! I love the song and this entire movie/play!

  • I love Emmy Rossum and this movie...but she is an awful actress!

  • So if the phantom is only a couple years younger than the girl who has been a mother to christine then that means he could be the same age as her father........ which is why she believes its the ghost of her father.............. but that gives him kind of a pedophile status. forget that last thing. Am I right about everything else?

  • I sang this song for Solo and Ensamble my senior year of high school :)

  • I love the phantom. This musical breaks my heart every time I see it I feel so sad for days as I feel so bad for the phantom. It is the best musical ever.

  • My favorite musical of all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm fortunate enough to still have both my parents with me. However, three years ago, my best friend took his own life, without leaving a note or anything. This was his favourite song. Now it's also mine. R.I.P Alex <3

  • the cold sound where love never dies

  • It' s snowing

    The monuments are standing

    The graves are sleeping

    Christine is going

    Raoul is riding

    Phantom is waiting...

And I am writing my comment

    About the best musical ever

  • @justynaija ...And Gerard Butler fangirls are waiting quietly behind that mausoleum for him to pass out from the cold and drag him away :T

  • This song makes me cry every time I hear it. And whenever I look at the comments, I see that people have connections to this song, and I just feel bad for them. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love. <3

  • @10roubs I listen to this song when I think of my dad. He died in 2007. Just remember, you never get over it, it just gets easier.

  • @LivvyLou150 Mine passed in 2007 too, I know exactly what you mean. His would-be birthday is coming up in 3 days, and this time of year always makes me think of him.

  • i love this song so much, R.I.P. mom <3

  • i love this song so much, R.I.P. mom <3

  • Is she the original Christine?

  • @angelinac63 No Sarah Brightman is the original Christine

  • no entiendo ninguna wea!!! xDDDDD

  • So...effin...beautiful. <3

  • Emmy, you are fantastic at this.....well done!!!!!

  • Here's the long and the short of it: Christine was dumb. Phantom all the way. She should've chosen him, then she wouldn't have been abused later on by Raoul. The Phantom would've loved her unconditionally-she was the first person to show him any real love.

  • Jessie Eisenberg should play Christine

  • @loner1878 quit saying that you obviously don't understand what the phantom went through.... you live by your name

  • son of a bitch...

    FIONA FUCKING SINGS

  • I'm sorry. But it's cold. You have cape, boots, a scarf, gloves, etc. But you can't cover up your boobs. Aren't you cold, Christine?

  • @cortanaV Well she has to look hot to visit her dads grave! those grave diggers have muscles. kidding.

  • @cortanaV What boobs? They are almost non-existant

  • @jordansparkles541 How rude of you

  • @jordansparkles541 -just cause she doesn't look like a freaking glamour model...

  • @jordansparkles541 Ha learn to spell EXISTENT before insulting someone.

  • @jordansparkles541

Actually, her breasts are perfectly proportioned for her body. Any bigger and she'd look like a mutated Barbie doll.

  • @cortanaV ssshh don't tell her

  • @cortanaV its not her fault blame the clothes deisgner Hahaha :)

  • @cortanaV boobs not cold but cool...hahahahahaha

  • @cortanaV I literally had the very same thought, scrolled down a second after and read this. Lol!

  • @cortanaV She's in a movie. I'm sure it's in a contract somewhere that any attractive female lead has to have her breasts sticking out in most of the scenes, regardless of outside temprature.

  • @cortanaV what boobs?

  • @cortanaV Erik will get those for her. XD aka the phantom

  • @cortanaV it's art

  • @cortanaV It was the way people dressed in that time....

  • @cortanaV Actually, I thoroughly warmed her breasts with my hands just before this scene. It was marvelous for me, and she was able to reveal her lovely cleavage.

  • Too bad Emmy's voice isn't more powerful and better-disciplined. With a song like this, you can't half-ass it with a weak, untrained voice.

  • @luffans Are you deaf? It's a beautiful rendition? Go clean your ears out....

  • Her voice is like perfect

  • @luffans I'd like to see you try it.

Don't judge if you can't do it.

  • Oh yeah....and she was gorgeous too!

  • This scene is so beautifully haunting and totally proves how completely perfect Emmy Rossum was to play Christine. She was the right age AND had incredible pipes!! She was it!
