Hi, I was at the Sheep and Wool Festival this past weekend and ran into the Spanish Peacock setup. I absolutely fell in love with this particular way of spinning wool. They were sold out by the time I visited their set-up, but am looking forward to ordering a Tibetan spindle. Do you have any recommendations for an absolute beginner? I was mesmerized by your video and could not stop watching your art of hand spinning. Thanks you!!!
I love this video. I've seen it many times and still mesmerized by your hand movements. You make it so effortless but it is not an easy thing to do. By the way, are you left handed? I hold my fiber on my left hand and flick with my right hand.
What kind of spindle is this? Ive never seen a spindle like that that spins so long and just needs light support from the side of your hand or none at all.
Just fabulous!

Watching you spin is hypnotic. So fluid and graceful. I'm definitely going to look into this kind of spindle. Great video!

Yup--just as fast or faster than a wheel :) And portable, too! Roy and I thank you for watching and hope you get up to speed quickly!

I am ambidextrous. I have better luck holding the fiber in my right hand. But I hold it in my left when using a charkha. Go figure.
I am very glad you enjoy the video--it is effortless with a bit of practice, honest!

@fleegle: you're as fast as spinning on a whell - and your movements are so easy and elegant. Thank you (and Roy) soooooo much for doing this video!
I have no teacher for spinning around but this video really helps a lot!
