  • Obi Wan impostor has a really Alec Guiness-like voice:)

  • Wow if you think about it, harry potter ripped off of star wars and the lord of the rings.

  • Comment removed

  • hahahah i bet this was released slightly before the 5th book and the publishers had to recall it and make JK Rowling change the ending :P

  • England produce the finest humour the world has ever seen; As well as everything else.

  • i discovered this show here on you tube, and i love it, does anyone happen to know if dvds from the u.k play in the us? they dont sell any dvds of this show or even show it here an america

  • @inplane99 I don't really care whether you find my country's humour to be laughed at or not, or whatever you're trying to say. I'm just here to discuss how story archetypes with somebody else, not to be ranted at by complete strangers. Good day.

  • My three favourites saga in one place, nice :P

  • @thisisthermageictake2 i will say this isn't as funny as most british comedy but still better then any other country

  • @inplane99 british humour is better then any other country

  • @mustangwings It's so dry :')

  • They missed out that Voldemort, Sauron, and Darth Vader are all called 'Dark Lords'!!

  • They should have brought up how much Daniel Radcliffe looks like Elijah Wood...

  • Man... I was sad when Voldemort didn't turn out to actually be James Potter... I was so calling it. It would've been hilarious. (As was this sketch.)

  • What a brillient impression of Obi-Wan Kenobi, I almost thought it was Alec Guiness :L

  • For some reason I thought that instead of Darth Vader it was Severus Snape entering the room. Must be the flowy robes :D

  • "Im not bloody dumbledore"

    so amusing

  • I find it hilarious that vader goes "Oh bugger, i've just ruined the ending of the 5th book for every one...SORRY!"

  • @inplane99 supposed. If you're going to insult someone's country, at least learn to spell.

  • @kathydacat Ooopps sorry I am not british so I can spell english to well, no intentions to insult any country but your comedy is not something to congratulate too or to laugh oh I fucked up again.

  • Haha! Lily Potter cheated on James with Darth Vader XD

  • harry potter and the lord of the stars

  • This is sooooo coool!!

But heres some of the simlarties between the old man in each of these:

They all come back from the dead

    The are all wizards/magical people

They all wear long robes and have grey beards

    lol!!!

  • LOL it is true that JK Rowling based alot of her ideas from Lord of the Rings like Gandalf/Dumbledore and Aragog/Shelopf(the spider), but it still doesn't stop each of them being as awesome as each other as each author brought something new :)

  • @flame3638 ok, it just pisses me off when every video i watch just has "THUMBS UP IF BLAH SENT U HERE" nobody cares who sent ya just watch the vid

  • @flame3638 who the fuck is that

  • Darth Vader is Tom Baker??????

  • Well, Voldemort isn't Harry's father. We already knew Harry's father, James Potter and Voldemort's original self is Tom Riddle. Vader didn't spoil Order of the Pheonix. However, Vader may have spoiled Empire Strikes Back but that was spoiled so many times and parodied alot, so Vader didn't spoil anything.

  • @SeanWheeler100 for god sake its just a parody get over yourself

  • Comment removed

  • @josepasillas530 and was the first to do it in a western movie. Besides nothings original.

  • Comment removed

  • "You're my father?"

"Yes I am....Oh bugger thats really spoilt the ending of the fifth book hasn't it?" lol

  • hahahahahahhaha thats some funny shit

  • I really wanted voldemort to turn out to be harry's father

  • Really like how this one shows how similar all three are xD

  • keep pushing 9 to see harry act like a bitch

  • what ??

  • lol 225

  • "Oh, damn, that's really spoiled the ending of the 5th book for people, hasn't it?"

(Presuming this was made aroung the time or soon after the 5th book came out,) I wonder how many people laughed, then got a horrible chill run down their spines as they flipped ahead several chapters just to check... After all, those three series are otherwise nearly identical. :P

  • @DragonSporks I thought he said 'bugger' not 'damn'

  • Your my father?

    i loled

  • Oh my god..LOL!

  • Piss poor. Piss poor.

  • @Warwickcain haha! how can piss be poor XD

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHA! This is one of the best I've seen.

  • Who are the cast?

  • Well, they actually do have a point. God, can't someone make up an original fantasy plot? That would be awesome.

If no one else does it, I will

  • @Tacroy

Do it, label it Tacroy, I promise i'll buy it.

  • @Tacroy Actually Lord of the Rings was written before any of those came out, even the first Star Wars. Everything else just ripped it off. Tolkien took a lot of his material from mythology and such but made his own world out of it. HP, Twilight, and all that are weak attempts at being as brilliant as the world of "Middle Earth" is, and fails miserably. LotR is the best.

  • @byuftbl Not sure if you've watched Star Wars, or read/watched Harry Potter, but they're nothing alike. You can hardly call them rip-offs of Lord of the Rings

  • @Whydoesthissitesuck Yes to seeing Star Wars-its different in that its a different story set in a different time, but BOTH Lord of the Rings and Star Wars have a lot of influence of myths such as Norse myths, Greek myths, etc. Don't even get me started on HP...at any rate all three are at the very BASIC the same-the reluctant one is forced into being a hero through circumstances often beyond control, despite his wish of just wanting to have a normal life. LotR was just the first out of SW/HP.

  • @byuftbl They have similarities within the stories, but to call them rip-offs of Lotr is too far -- they are far too different. And its not like Lotr was the first story ever to have the reluctant protagonist forced off on a journey guided by an old man who then dies but eventually triumphs.

That is a basic plot that is a thousand years old, so i really don't think Lotr can be considered its inventer ><

  • @TheValiance show me three stories that have what you described in lotr that came before it

  • @42Nightsyesterday lotr itself is a rip off of old nordic legends

  • @TheLocalpsycho thats one now two more and in which nordic legend did a reluctant adventurer get led by an old and wise man into danger?

  • That was hilarious

  • FRODO,I AM YOUR FATHER!

  • why the fuck are so many americans watching this and taking the piss of british humour go watch icarly are some shit like that

  • lol dumburdur!!! i like his voice XD and great vid i loled

  • Uh oh. lots of people wanting to watch episode V are pretty angry at the moment.

    good. give into your hatred.

  • Are there 3 different stories? I have to get some order in my DVD shelf.

  • That's okay lord Vader, I wasn't going to read it anyhow ^^

  • Even though I haven't read or watched Lord of the Rings, I knew enough to notice the similarities! It's really amazing when you compare them in this way! XD

  • Good grief!, when they're all mashed together, it suddenly dawns on you just how similar the themes, plots and storylines are!...... :)

  • LMFAO!

  • the actor who plays obi-wan kenobi sounds really close to alec guiness

  • okay!!! I understood everything. Lord Voldemort is Luke's father, Sauron is Harry's father and Darth Vader is Frodo's. Yeees!! /she died from laugh/.

I am ghost now. Thank You for this fun!

  • Oh ho ho ho ho ho, quite amusing. *sips tea*

  • @AutumnViewer Fuck you

  • hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol best 3 movies havin da piss taken - luv da bbc x

  • sorry but thats kinda sucked

  • AWESOME

  • Going down that path ... Saruman is Frodo's father, which would explain everything...

  • @Americassie don't forget the language.

  • pff, this isn't funny. so the joke is that these are similar? every work of fiction has similarities - look up tvtropes. there are only so many original ideas in the world.

  • Good side, dark side. Some theme runs through it all. The dark side always has Eastern elements. Check out on the map where Mordor lies.

  • dam this is funny !! lawl

  • This is a very clever sketch and highlights just how similar the three are.

  • @tapiaassasin The basic plot of all Fantasy movies a like..

  • @tapiaassasin yea really clever if you're like 9 years old

  • lmao

  • love it when harry was like... Your my father? haha love it!

  • brilliant, ive just realised how similar these 3 are

    very funny

  • "oh bugga" only funny part

  • not that funny just made me smile.... it is entertaining though :) thumbs up if u agree :)

  • Question: What did obi wan said to harry as he entered the room i dont understand the word?

  • @Popelmasse3000 He says: "No young akelite"

  • @Pintoleite3 thx

  • @Popelmasse3000 it's acolyte not akelite

  • @Pintoleite3 acolyte

  • @Pintoleite3 hahaha whatty shitty fail at spelling

  • LMFAO

  • Hahahahaha... awsome!!!!

  • Two words... ' Pure Genius ' !!!

  • SUBSCRIBE PLZ :D

  • An Evil Lord (Working for a even more evil overlord) captures a beautiful princess and it's up to the hero and his trusted band of rebels to save the day.

    Robin Hood.

The thing is, Joseph Campbell got it right.

  • Rofl :P

  • Don't do that; you'll miss finding out what happened to Ahsoka.

  • I don't care about Ahsoka! She may have had some important roles in the Clone War campaigns, but if you watched the fourth movie, you would already know that thing was won! Wait a sec, there's still one more thing! In the 2nd episode Anikin started on the road to the dark side when his mother died! That really affected his war tactics, He was much more brutal to the enemy. But in this series he's the cheeriest son of a bitch I have ever seen! Oh and Ahsoka died, It's obvious

  • Your loss, mate, she's a great character-- and ABOUT TIME we had a main character in a Star Wars production who was a female Jedi!

Anakin's road to the Dark Side started the moment Ani started trusting Palpatine, who through several years wormed his way into Anakin's mind.

    (continued)

  • Now, when Shmi died, that naturally affected Anakin, but when he slaughtered all those Tusken Raiders, he wasn't evil, just incredibly angry. As for him being cheery, well, watch the first half hour of Episode 3; he's bantering and smiling quite a lot.

How so "obvious?" Probable, yes, but "obvious?" Like I said, the tale of her final fate has not yet been told.

  • Well, when is he going to tell the damned story?! That little cartoon series isn't progressing the plot at all!

  • Oh bugger, that's really spoiled the ending of the fifth book for people, sorry.

    Love it!

  • I have no idea what TV14 is/means, but Merlin's a family show with 'layers' and Torchwood says 'Fuck' and has a dead guy in the first minute. =-)

  • Lol. Really funny. Thanks for uploading these.

  • Read it? The Merlin I'm talknig about is a TV show. As is Torchwood, it's a spin-off from Doctor Who.

But, both are great. Merlin is fun and silly, Torchwood is very dark, but with oodles of blakc humour.

  • Haha, it's all true.

  • Long live Darth Vader :D

  • That, and how rabid the fans are :-) Anyone noticed the similarities between Series One fo Merlin asnd Torchwood?

    9please don't mwntion S2 or Merlin, I haven't seen it yet :-()

  • @kathydacat Why on earth would you think Merlin (TV Show) and Torchwood are at all similar, because they have absolutely nothing in common? No offence, they just don't. I like both (but Merlin more). Also they both have similarities to completely different things. What with Merlin being based off of the Arthurian legends and Smallville (TV show), and Torchwood having been influenced by many things. But I can't see why you'd say there are noticeable similarities between the two.

    Hilarious vid!

  • @lildevil4everaneva Similar in tone and archetype, in Series One. Both Gwens are incredibly similar, and some of the archetypes, like the man with all the power who's treat like furniture = Merlin/Ianto, Snarky doctor = Gaius/Owen, Female Anti-Hero to Out and Out Villain - Suzie/Morgana. Tone is the most though, although Torchwood is darker, it still has the same silly humour at times. They've become more similar in tone during Series Four of Merlin though. Just pointing out how silly it is to

  • @kathydacat say works are ripped off each other, just because they're similar. You can pick any book and compare it to any film and pick out loads of similarities, it's the way of the world. Give me Torchwood and, say, of Mice and Men, and I could find at least ten.

  • @kathydacat Sorry but to me Gaius is nothing like Owen at all, Suzie nothing like Morgana, Merlin absolutely nothing like Ianto and the shows humour is really different from each other. Torchwood isn't a dark show, it has violence and sex in it, but it's not a dark show. Sorry but I simply don't think any of the characters are alike at all. Gwen isn't like Gwen either, though both are 'heart' in the group, G from TW is more controlling and self centred. G from Merlin is more quiet & gentle.

  • @kathydacat Ianto doesn't have any power, he's smart and organized but doesn't really have any control or particularly interesting skills and his personality doesn't resemble Merlin's at all. Gaius can be snarky but is no where near as cynical as Owen. Certainly don't see any similarities from S4 of Merlin either. No offence though, I just don't think any of them have enough in common w/each other to ever think of any as similar at all. Guess it's pretty clear which show I like better though. :P

  • @kathydacat I wasn't saying anything was ripping off of anything by mentioning Smallville & the legends, as the idea of the show has been said by the creators to have been inspired by that show and obviously by the legends themselves. Though by mentioning that I think you mean what you were saying in earlier comments before replying to me. :)

  • Look, clone wars sucked, it screwed up the story and character development

  • In what way?

  • Have you seen "Clone Wars"?

  • Only the movie, but I've read up on the series, and so far nothing seems out of place.

The odd bit of course was Anakin being a "master" to Ahsoka when he never got past the actual rank of "Knight," but that's all been explained.

  • Did they explain what happened to Ahsoka after the clone wars!? Did they explain why Ahsoka was never even mentioned in the original clone wars that was shown on the old cartoon network in 2004?! Did they explain why everyone in the series has the maturity of 12 year olds?! DID THEY EXPLAIN WHY GEORGE LUCAS DIDNT MAKE THAT DAMN THING BEFORE THE THIRD EPISODE?!

  • Dude, chill!!!! Why don't you put your imagination to it and come up with an explanation instead of giving yourself apoplexy?

Sad to say, Ahsoka probably perished during the Order 66 massacre. Still, you never know. Obviously, that tale has not yet been told.

As for why she wasn't in the cell animated series, the answer is simple: that all took place before the CGI series.

    Don't get your "maturity" crack.

Finally, he didn't make it before because he made it after.

  • "The man was once a director, but that was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. He took something that meant a lot to fans and turned it into an experiment for revolutionary recognition." If the fucker doesn't want to drop the clone wars and make the last trilogy then he should stop making movies all together. Do you think fans of da Vinci would like it if some asshole painted over The Mona Lisa to try to make it better?

  • All right, my friend, you are bang out of order.

"Star Wars" is George Lucas's creation, which he can do with as he pleases. Do you know how heavily reworked "The Lord of the Rings" was before Tolkien was satisfied with it?

As for Leonardo ("his name was not "da Vinci," that was just referring to his hometown), if HE HIMSELF wanted to revise "La Gioconda," that would be his right, him having painted her in the first place.

That's artists, my boy; they're perfectionists, every one of 'em.

  • Alright, I've lost this argument. I'm going to kill myself now.

  • so he goes from emo to man child, real improvement!

  • Im not really European you know. And Satr Wars is dead thanks to that asshole Goerge Lucas and his clone wars.

  • @PokemonPinecone There are no new stories, only new ways to tell them =-)

  • Lol, I bet those american wankers don't even know how badly we're making fun of thier books and movies here. England shall always have the best books becuase we dont waste our time ruining them by making movies based off them. We will always have the classics like "High Expectations" and "Sherlock Holmes", wait a sec, sherlock homes, oh f***! ahhhhh f*** f*** f*** f***! those yankees turned it into an action film! I declare war!

  • ...

    Really, Mr. Masterpiece Theater?

  • what? who the hell is that>

  • I agree, except I like the fourth one. Order of the Phoenix and Prisoner of Azkaban were downright horrible.

  • The bloke playing Harry sounds alot like David Walliams

  • Wow it really shows the similarities between Lotr and StarWars, not as much for Harry Potter

  • Well, there are only seven stories in the world, you know.

  • Nicely done.

Ha, the whole Harry Potter stuff may be good, but the Americans can never capture the true meaning of being British. They abandoned the British part of their souls when they left the country and took over the New World.

  • haha, well said! But what makes you say that? :)

  • The desire to speak the truth.

However, even we have our problems, I hate to admit.

  • Hey! Nobody is perfect. Don't be too harsh yourselves! However you can be 'nearly' perfect... ;)

  • @vunix1234567890 That's why we're called Americans and not British people.

  • @vunix1234567890 INDEED!

  • Tosh. And I say that as an Englishman. Tosh.

  • @vunix1234567890 Damn straight... They suck now.

  • @vunix1234567890 O.O dude... obviously im american and im like an anglophile. I wish i lived in GB. what an ignorant comment. You think just because a bunch of your own people left your country hundreds of years ago doesnt mean we have the same feelings about it now! that is meerly pure arrogence! we are allies! if you believe differently, then take it up with another country!

  • @bhnub i agree with you, ive spoken with americans and alot of them say they are happy in enlgand, hate america or want to go to britian. But stupid decisions from hundreds of years ago are irrelevant now.

  • @bhnub if America are allies with G.B then why don't you give our country money and land

  • @omion1 How many times have you gave money and free rooms for your best friend when he doesn't even ask for them?

  • @vunix1234567890 I'm glad us Australians haven't lost it yet.

  • @nathanpotato lol you mean Bandit Country. pffft 'nuff said

  • @vunix1234567890 really? my great great grandfather was British. I wouldn't know, honestly. I am just learning about my heritage.

  • @txmomoftwo1 mine too welcome to the USA we all came from some where

  • i am your father your my father? i am *oh bugger

  • idiot

  • thanks

  • Omg thats sooooo funny!!! LOL

  • "You've nicked that idea from me!"

  • um, Saruman doesn't kill Frodo's father, and Sauron isn't him, so, what the hell. Also, the actor who played Gandalf is still alive.

  • Y but actor of dumbledore in the first two harry potter movies is not!

  • yes, they didn't say he wasn't...
