Didn't even mention how the AI in skirmish mode cheat. They completely ignore the honor system and start with the normal amount of materials no matter what you do. I,ll be advancing to the next honor level and look over at their castles and they have a complete wall with flaming logs and are just sending out their first column of archers at me.

this looks like an awful sequel to Stronghold, just goes to show how good the original was for this thing to even get produced... the graphics look really bad even if they are 3D, I would prefer more sprites than polygons any day.

This game is terrible. I really can't play it. I've given it multiple chances, and it's completely awful. This is taking 10 steps back from Crusader. I really wish I could find my Crusader disk!

1st stronghold is a clasic game...timeless actually. try it in multiplayer with your friends, its really good. the 2nd is a bit disappointing, but more complex, give it a try if you can, its not that bad.

continued -- there is a ladder up or a hole in one obscure part of the wall, almost every single opposing soldier will run/walk to your lord no matter what hales of arrows or what enemies are in their path. No matter that you're already doing something else. While it makes sense to a degreet that they would exploit the breach, it's really crap when they attack from the same place every time and then just make a suicidal dash for your lord EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The thing that I will never get over with this game's skirmish mode, which is the same issue I had with age of empires 1-3 is the idiotic AI.

It sucks me out of the game so bad when I spend hours making this epic castle and cover the walls in soldiers while the AI's attacks not only fail to get progressively stronger (if you survive the first you will survive everyone one with ease) but fail to be realistic. There could be fighting all around your castle and such, but as soon as continued --

another reason for lag is the differnt graphics settings if your on medium and they are on high the graphics do not agree and will lag and not make the game as enjoyable

i like this review...i dont believe this is a horrible game that so many websites reviewed it as so. While it was a bit of a let down (think they could have done much better) it is still a fun game. i enjoy the depth they added to castle sim being able to hold feast to get honor and such. Overall i like this game and have been a big fan of stronghold series from the start

@camibami123 I ask myself that aswell since I bought deluxe version becuase it was on offer and they only had the deluxe version my mate didnet no that so as a birthday present he sent 50pount and the normal version so Installed it and played and so far there was no difference I thinks it because of the limited addition boxing. there might be a difference but in 1 year I havent found A difference since if complete both of the same games and I still play on them

its one of the best strategies games for multiplayer in my opinion. I really think you should of said Warcraft 2 instead of Warcraft 3, since a lot of players can agree with me Warcraft 2 is much more satisfying and addicting then 3

Is it just me or does everyone else have this problem. Whenever i play the skirmish mode on this game there is a 64 (or close to) cap on how many peasants you can have. This is annoying in itself, but that is not the main problem. This pop cap renders the ai useless due to them practically running into a brick wall in their production and they end up just standing around without an army and a uncompleted wall. Ive looked online for a way to remove the cap but have been unsuccessful. Any help?

Yep, I found that on various higher grade PCs. And while I wouldn't normally talk of lag as it should be unique to each PC, I think the software for Stronghold isn't the most robust.

@scottishterrierdude That was a problem on Faces of War by Ubisoft, which has permanent lag and frequent crashes in multiplayer. But only on good PCs.

@AzaIndustries i think you had some corrupted veersion or something cause once i downloaded the game and i had SO MUCH LAG and then i re downloaded it from a diffrent source and it worked fine
