If your old TV still works good, why would you replace it with one of those crappy flat screens anyway? I was raise you don't get a new one unless the old one breaks.
It REALLY galls me when people throw away perfectly good color television sets. I've garbage-picked a couple of them myself, in perfect working order! When I was a kid, if you had a color TV, you was king of the block!! Friends and neighbors would ask if they could come over and watch a ball game with you.
@HardKnocks60 I remember how proud i was to get buy my first t.v.- a black and white with retracting antenna for 30 dollars. I could get about 4 channels, but i bought it with my own money and i had a tv all to myself. Now kids have big screen in every room, tv in the car, no big deal.
i got a tv out of a dumpster yesterday and it works perfectly its an old tube tv and there industructable
