  • Won't miss the clubs, overpriced and the music sounded like it was 'taped' (the same mixes night after night after night). Also the 'BET' (Black Entertainment Club), what would had happened if Disney put up a club 'WET' (White Entertainment Club). All hell would had broken out, but that what happened a club named after a race that pretty much yells racism!

  • Won't miss the clubs, overpriced and the music sounded like it was 'taped' (the same mixes night after night after night).

  • More shopping and dining?!! lol what total PR Bullshit. Its only steps to the marketplace which is nearly completely dining and shopping and family fare. This was the only "grown up" area and now its gone? and the adventuress club? Getting rid of that place was a really bad move.

  • I hate all of those stores at disney world. Now they are adding more!

  • stupid business move, if they wanted "family freiendly" then got to disney WORLD

  • He says the guests are asking for more dining and shopping opportunities...

    He's smokin' something.

  • I just got back from Disney World and I gotta say that Pleasure Island is pretty lame right now. I used to go dancing at Mannequins and 8 Trax and they were really cool places to hang out...now they're closed and the whole place sucks.

I talked to some people who said that Disney closed it because a lot of people were getting out of control...both locals and resort guests.

  • This seems rather foolish. I can understand closing down a few of the clubs to make space for shopping and food outlets which some customers asked for however there was no need to shut down all of them, since some people enjoy the clubs.

  • This really sucks! :( I dont even wanna go now.

  • This really sucks! :(

  • BOOOOOOOOOO!

  • awww man!! i was looking forward to going to pleasure island when i was old enough but now i can't FFS!!!

  • Disney always did everything in the best way but not this time

  • bye pleasure island sept 08

  • They going to run out of business like this

  • I would hope disney would make another land in downtown disney similar to pleasure island and bring back nightclubs there

and you know how they have glowfest and ElecTRONica at california adv downtown disney nightlife area should have something like that too

  • I like the cut of his jib.

  • I like the cut of his jib.

  • RIP Pleasure Island. Two years today.

  • OMG I only just found out. Downtown Disney was boring, boring, boring with only Pleasure Island bringing some life to it. The Comedy Club & Adventurers club were fantastic. One more Disney site to cross off the list - Universal must be rubbing their hands with glee. Disney, youve lost the plot.

  • omfg i didn't find out about the night club closings till i was down there i was so looking forward to going to a few. bad disney bad give us adults our clubs

  • BAD idea.

  • BAD idea.

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • well here i come city walk ! at universal studio!

  • WHERES THE WALRUS PIT?

  • My favorite clubs were 8Trax and Manniquins.

  • @BigMDS67 Me too...I'm glad I got there in '07

  • That's damn sad,I had so much fun there! I think the depression we're in now(and a lot less people going to WDW),had something to do with it.

  • I have a vision for DTD. Reopening the night clubs.

  • It's so sad walking by these clubs and imagining what they used to be. I was there last week and nothing has been done with the clubs. It's a ghost town with the exception of some stilt walkers outside getting kids to play with hula hoops and bean bags.

I heard House of Blues is comparable. We chose Raglan Road which was a blast.

Downtown Disney is great for unique disney items, but you can only pay double for so much everyday merchandise just because it's on disney property.

  • I need to dance!

  • The clubs were so retarded. All these underage workers who get in for free throwing up all over the place, spilling drinks on people, fights, it was not disney, go to las vegas people. the only good thing there was the comedy club.

  • in his own words he describes the balloon as a "neat" option. I want to be "Blown Away" at Disney. I don't want things that are neat. Thanks for destroying an icon and putting people out of work Kevin. How is Downtown Disney doing after all your changes. It looks to me like your "ideas" have really helped the place.

  • Why would they do that!!! What about the workers that work for Disney!!!! Especially the WDW College Program Students that go there for the great experience and having a fun time there,

  • I am not pleased about this decision either... I was there in December 2009 and was shocked to see my favorite club was closed. I thought maybe they were doing some refurbishing work wow was I wrong! I love Disney but this was a bad decision to close the clubs...

  • @xXSasukeUchiha1Xx yea and the adventures club is STILL there open too

and im there in 2010 (last night)

  • *coughs* no its gonna become "Night Kingdom"

  • just as soon as i turn 21...thanks a lot captain dickwad.

  • king of the douche bags. Thank you for closing the one place you could get away from kids at DisneyWorld. After the monorail crash, how do you even have a job anymore?

  • this guy should work on his people skills! he works for disney!

  • Thank you, Disney for closing Pleasure Island. The scene from Pinocchio with Pleasure Island freaked the entire planet out. Bravo, Disney!

  • Pleasure Island was supposed to be a place where adults can get away from the kids for a while, and WDW had to close it! Looks like I'm cancelling my next trip to WDW.

  • Isn't this Kevin Lansbury the Douche that was in charge of transpotation during the monorail crash?

  • I want to know what ass holes actually requested more places to shop and spend money....I only went to Disney World for these clubs...Where else will people be able to go to get away from family time?...This sux ass Disney!

  • @ASUcheerguy I was wondering the same thing.

  • @ASUcheerguy

What kinds of assholes? The assholes in the office. I went to Pleasure Island for the first time in 2000, and didn't think that the clubs were worth spending the money on. It was pretty empty there, really. The Disney corporation doesn't want any blood on their hands, so Pleasure Island is/was designed as a family-friendly attraction in disguise.

  • The driving reasons must have been that the clubs did not generate enough revenue (particularly since most were closed during the daytime) and there may have been too much drunkenness and fights.

Why don't they just admit that's the case? Still the Adventurers' Club and the Comedy Club should have remained since they were kid friendly and opened during the day.

  • @chuzek I was there a good number of years ago and it was fun. But if you did get your brains beat out with a bar stool, what better place than at a Disney resort?

  • From what I have seen and heard people were getting drunk and into fights also it was attracting too many locals that were also causing trouble.

  • thats ridiculous! why the hell would ppl want more shopping and dining...holy shit! Come on we want a place to let it loose and dance! We should make a petition to get clubs open again!!!

  • @DisneyBoi96 - Good luck. Rarely do they listen anymore.

  • More dining and shopping!!!??? Sorry it's not that hard to find one of these establishments at one of the parks or the resorts. There are tons of them everywhere. Pretty much every time you get off a ride there is a shop to buy things at. Disney what in the world were you thinking. Walt is probably rolling over in his grave right now.

  • dude pleasure island used to be bumping when i was little

  • wtf ? no more pleasure island ? well i wont be going to disney w my girl because of that ... miss the old night life theme better off going to city walk in universal !

  • WOW! I knew there was something different about Down Town Disney when I was there in June. Well now I know why

  • damn. Well I'm glad to enjoy these places 3 years in a row. Why are electronic dance clubs dieing?? Eff the shopping and irish pubs. We need places to dance and hear some heavy bass. Well when I go back to Orlando, guess I gotta do some searching.

  • DAMMIT TO HELL!! I fuuhh...AARGHHH!!! Mannequins, 8-Trax, The Adventurer's Club, the whole damn thing is GONE NOW! Because the Guests "are asking for more shopping and dining opportunities"?!! Yeah, it's just SO HARD TO POSSIBLY LOCATE one of the hundreds of shops or restaurants while on property.

  • @229095

    I know right.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't know about the closure until after I made my reservations so the comedy club is already gone. I will miss it, but there are other things to do. I just think they shouldn't have gotten rid of them all.

  • Same here I didn't know about the closing until after I booked my honeymoon trip for down there. By then it was too late to cancel my trip.

  • im really starting to get pissed off with disney. first, they replaced the alien encounter with this stupid stitch thing, and then they closed down that online game called vmk. my friends kids would DIE to play that game again. but the pleasure island clubs closing down?!? nuh uh, that's just a little too far. they need better people that help design the place, and they need to get rid of that slogan, "keep moving forward" that's what they told me when i emailed them. really, they need to F.O.D

  • where the hookers at the name is very missleading

  • im rele starting to get agrivated with disney. they used to have all these cool rides for adults and kids now its just kids rides. once ur about 10 years old none of those rides are appealing anymore. like what ever happened to "Alien Encounter" that used to be like my favorite but now its a stupid stitch ride thats absolutely pointless and scares the fuck out of the kids and the adults think its stupid so theres never anybody on it...

  • it's sad that you people need your clubs and bars to feel all growed up.

  • The V.P. child who destroyed Pleasure Island is dumber than the CEO of GM. Grossly-mismanaged Disney is headed the same way as Lehman Brothers. EPCOT used to be a showcase for the future - Now it features a 20-mpg GM SUV in Future World, while the new C.A.F.E. standard requires 35.5 mpg - Walt would be so very ashamed.

Techno Larry (See my YouTube video)

  • Hey VP of DTD I have 6 words for you... Sit on your finger and Spin.

  • well i will be going to disney in a week.. so im lucky in off to go visit for one last time.. ricky d meksican...

  • Pleasure Island's new name= Paradiso 37.

  • Food service is definately more lucrative but I'd rather have a place to forget about the kids and buy some jello-shots from a twinky blonde in the middle of the street. I'm already planning to go to UNIVERSAL answer to Pleasure Island as much as I wish this wasn't the case.

  • I understand the DINING PLAN has created a need for more restaurants, but that doesn't mean the clubs should close. Likely it has more to do with the namby pampy right-wing soccer moms and dad complaining about "gay days" and the fact that DISNEY is providing a place for adult themed "PLEASURE" while they cant find a place to eat.

  • Frankly, it is leaving me no option but to decide to rent a car in order to have a Nitelife of any kind with the exception of one night where The World Showcase is open until midnight. It is a horrible decision on the part of DISNEY and is forcing me to take my business outside of WDW, because expecting adults to spend a week or two somewhere without at least ONE night out is ridiculous.

  • I recently planned and booked my first vacation package to DISNEY WORLD as AN ADULT. Ever since I was there at 14 years old, I looked forward to visting PLEASURE ISLAND when I was old enough to enjoy it and am VERY DISAPPOINTED to find out that it has closed all of it's bars and clubs.

  • @cynema You can still drink at your hotel, but that's it.

  • damnit!!!! long ago when PI opened my parents took me to the AC, and i loved it!!! Now that I have kids of my own, that are old enough to go, plus two teenage nephews, I was planning a trip to WDW in early 2010 so they could experience it as well..... now I come to find out PI is closed. The last thing I want to do is spend 5 nights there doing kiddy things, after doing kid things all day, and niether do my kids and nephews!!! I'm truley floored by this...

  • Why would Disney allow such a major announcement (SEVEN clubs closing simultaneously) be made by such an unprofessionally- dressed completely uncharismatic dweeb? This guy's making important statements to one in-house reporter, and they can even get audio that isn't totally fucked-up? They couldn't have sat this dickwad in a chair for 8 minutes?

Bad work, DIsney. Why don't you at least come clean about the real reason for the shuttering (Whatever that is).

  • This guy is the dweebiest dweeb in the history of dweebdom.

  • Exactly

  • Hey people here are a couple phone numbers that you can all call to try and get the clubs back. One is Kevin Lansberry 407-828-4591 The other is Barry Carlson 407-934-6688. Got this from a reliable source. Hope it helps

  • How did I not hear about this? :/ I always wanted to got to Mannequins and Adventurers Club. CURSE YOU WDW!

  • i saw the balloon on a recent vaction down their the max distance they let you go up is 500ft and that problay if everything is perfect but think you get 50 stories up you have a pretty good seeing distance

  • now you fucked up

  • Guys remember that Disneys main audience is children, not adults. I mean im sure they did well, but all in all they will recieve more money from restaurants and stores.

  • kevin lansberry yur a big dochebag Moron.....evolutionary??? yur an idiot

  • This is not what walt would have wanted ..u idiots shopping and dining ...like thers not enough of that crap already....re open the clubs morons

  • unbelievable.. My wife and I went to pleasure island during our honeymoon...we had so much fun ...whichever customers hes talkin about who said they want more dining and shopping are a bunch of freakin idiots ,, because the clubs make pleasure island what it is....a place for adults to go and have a good time.instead of seeing kids stuff al day.... those places are great as well but loved all the clubs, sorry disney this time i think ur makinga very bad decision......no reason to go there now!

  • Bloody typical... I've always wanted to go into the clubs, but I've always been too young. Now that I'm old enough, they've closed them! They've loads of shops & restaurants as it is... A make your own t-shirt shop? Gee, I can do this here and it wont cost shit loads either. Why dont Disney rename it to not-oh so pleasure island?

  • NOOOOOO

  • Walt Disney is spinning in his grave. He wouldn't want morons to be running Disney World.

  • He also doesnt want the Jews to be anywhere near it haha. Anti semetic bastard

  • The Balloon will probably get blown away during a hurricane. BRING BACK THE CLUBS!!! BRING BACK THE CLUBS!!! BRING BACK THE CLUBS!!!!

  • Lansberry can shove it! His bold new vision has created empty buildings and a lame attempt at a party in "celebration plaza" What a joke!

  • I wish Walt Disney was still alive so he could set his own company straight. This isn't the image he wanted. He wanted fun for all, and magic experiences for everyone. His dreams are literally being bought out for capital gain, on all fronts of Disney.

  • This is Bullshit

  • I'm not gonna flood this place with anymore responses so this is the

    last one in here.

    The Lord loves you.

  • Why? Why? Why? I enjoyed Pleasure Island, especially the Adventurers Club. This was a great grownup hangout.

  • The thing I don't understand is that these bars brought in a lot of income for Disney World and they continued to be popular up until they closed. It was really the only place to go after 11pm within a reasonable distance to all of the Disney resorts. I can understand the need to evolve, but this was just a bad business decision in my opinion. Over the past 7 or 8 years I've started to question the motives of the people in charge at Disney World and the Disney Corporation in general.

  • they actually brough in hardly any money(the bars that it)-because of the amount of freebies, free entry etc that was given to the main users of pleasure island-the Disney castmemers. So, if most of the ppl who used the clubs were disney employees who all paid nothing to get in, essentially disney is paying for them-so where are they making their money

  • They looked at the revenue per square foot on those clubs and thought they could make MORE money by outsourcing those locations to companies that would operate them as shops and restaurants, leaving Disney to collect the rents, and not have to cover the operating costs.

  • I have been saying for many years (since Eisner became CEO) The NEW DISNEY is killing Disney.

  • Biggest mistake Disney has made. Isn't there enough dinning and shops to go to? I loved going to the clubs when i went down there. Guests don't want more shopping and dinning areas we want the clubs back..

  • Pleasure island is awesome!!! you can make a jackass of yourself there! :D

  • Certainly not gonna miss the irresponsible people who drink too much and vomit at the bus stops, but otherwise I'll miss the music.

  • Adults who go to Disney World, want the night life too.I had so much fun there, this was a stupid move on their part.

  • Closing the clubs was the worlds biggest mistake on Disney's part. Guests don't want more shopping areas. We want the Night Clubs back.

  • disney world is full of stores the world of disney is in pleasure island along with lots of other stores and they think putting more stores is going to help after all those other stores? plus there isnt going to be any point in calling it pleasure island after all the clubs close cause it will suck ............exept for disney quest which is awsome

  • Big mistake Mr. VP, people "Guest" are asking for more shopping and dinning, horse shit! I hope Disney looses their ass. with this economy, people are not buying or shopping, they are partying idiot. they should kept club mannequin, the main them of Pleasure Island

  • AND they closed it on my birthday.

    what the crap is that?!

    >.>

  • ughh.

    that pissed me off.

its like, ill be working there in may, and i finally would be able to go into PI, and now i cant.

    blaahhh.

  • lol. thats probably the main reason u wanted to work there. i know i would just to ride free and get in the clubs. i liked all the clubs there. its a place to go to get away from the kids. PLEASE LET THEM BRING THE CLUBS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Our guests are asking us for more shopping and dining experiences." What a load of crap.

  • I know right, like there aren't enough shopping and high priced dining in Disney. if ppl want to shop, they need to get hotel on INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, everything u could ask for is on that street, like Ripley's beleive it or not, wonderworks, Wet and Wild, and lots of shopping places

  • Everything evolves and after 20 years of essentially the same clubs, I suppose they felt the place needed a change. However, although I can understand closing SOME of the dance clubs, I don't think the redo had to be so drastic. The biggest mistake... closing the Adventurers club. And how many overpriced restaraunts and souvenir shops do they need?

  • What makes it even harder is that we can't even write letter anymore. Disney;s new policy is not to take guest suggestions anymore for "legal" reasons. Any letters sent in to Disney will be sent back unopened and yet you can't go to city hall and give a compliment for an amazing cast member experience. I lose more and more faith in this company every day.

  • bullshit.

  • This is the first I've heard of this and I am SO disappointed...especially about the adventurers club! This think this is such a stupid move on Disneys part...ALL 5 CLUBS CLOSING?!? COME ON!

  • I was there a little over a week ago. I saw someone taking photographs of The

Adventurers Club. I was basically just

looking at the shells of the clubs. I never'got to enjoy it because I was not yet

21 when I first visited Walt Disney World

    in 1991.

  • this was the DUMBEST thing they could have done

  • damnnnn man, i had great memories in PI----this was the place that adults could have fun and they strip it away

  • Walt Disney also said, "I'm going to build a paradise, to sell beverages". 8Trax was my GraceLand, long live P.I.!

  • well theres still city walk

  • City Walk stinks!!! Nothing like Pleasure Island. City Walk has kids everywhere. PI used to kick out the under 21 year olds.

  • Walt Disney once said "The important thing is the family. If you can keep the family together - and that's the backbone of our whole business, catering to families - that's what we hope to do." PI clubs contradicted that when it was open.

  • That's a crock of crap

  • Exactly! Walt Disney also said he wanted to build a place where everyone can have fun. When he took his kids to the fair and the marry-go-round he realized that he wanted to have fun too and not just sit there and watch his kids have fun. The parks are great, but adults need a place for fun too.

  • So true.

  • Disney was evil when Walt Disney died and it just became like super mean first it took out VMK then it bought club penguin and they are doing a horrible job with it. Then this????? Wow.

  • i think there is a flipside to both situations..I liked Pleasure Island and looked forward to going into The Adventurers Club, but there was alot of the younger crowd and it did get pretty rowdy at times. Although i will sadly miss going to the club, i look forward to the new additions and find another place for alcohol.

  • i like this idea... every time i go theres always a bunch of drunks outside the clubs..onnce there was about 10 people fighting and throwing things outside...kids were scared!

  • Kids should have been in bed that late anyway!!! As for drunks, you see that anywhere. Maybe you should go to Bibleland in orlando...........

  • You know BradentonBootBear, I agree with your comment 100%. Some parents are just stupid.! Why would you want to bring your kids to a night club when you know there will be drunks at the clubs. I give you a two thumbs up for that comment.

  • Thank you BigK74. It will be missed dearly. But now its given up so the stupid kids can cry and whine for more crap to buy from more giftshops.

  • I think it really stinks that Disney has screwed up once again. PI was the best place for adults to enjoy themselves without the damn kids running around. Don't you have enough family oriented CRAP!!!!

  • Walt Disney once said "The important thing is the family. If you can keep the family together - and that's the backbone of our whole business, catering to families - that's what we hope to do."

  • Great! Now I guess i'll never have the chance to visit Motion and Mannequins!

  • too bad!!!!! in my opinion, motions is the best. mannequins, u would like that if u like techno, and bet was ok..later on in the night when it was about to close, and it was also a good price. 21 dollars for all 6, 10 for 1. i hope they replace with something else, i thought it was a really popular place.

  • What a travesty!! Such a shame...

  • Kevin Lansberry needs to be FIRED. He mis-managed Pleasure Island into the state it was in as an excuse to close it. As it stands now, closing the Adventurer's Club is quite possibly the most short-sighted, bottom-line-focused, bullsh*t decision that has been made in the history of Walt Disney World. Absolute bullsh*t. Cheers to the cast and crew of the AC. The magic you have created will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace, our beloved Adventurer's Club. Kungaloosh!

  • how was that, i never made it to that one, i liked motions and b.e.t. the best. so now i'll never know what its like.

  • I can't believe they closed it. Kevin Landsburry: You're an idiot. Just what people want. MORE shitty restaurants and crappy stores to buy more shit nobody needs.

  • PS: I used to be a Maneequins regular back on the 90s and early 2000. I don't know if things changed for the worst on these last years but it was am amazing club and I wish they could do something to save it from the bad crowd. It was a safe place when me and my sisters used to go. I didn't even know they were not doing the fireworks anymore. What a shame.

  • I think they at least should keep Maneequins. I think Walt Disney has more than enough shopping areas as it is. Isn't that what Downtown Disney is for. Pleasure Island was the place for locals and the grownups to go party after the parks. My family and I will miss it. :(

  • Walt Disney said that the parks were "Something that both the parents & the Children could have fun together", well taking out the clubs only means less fun for adults. I enjoyed the clubs the last time I went. The name Pleasure Island is from Pinocchio. By closing the clubs there not being true to Walts vision he created for the film. I wonder what is going in now that its past Sept 27th. I hope they put in new clubs. However being a Disney Park Im sure the new additions will be pretty good.

  • LOL. The guests are asking for more shopping and dining ops? Give me a break! There is no shortage of shopping there. I steer clear of the shops, all the merch is too much for me. New restaurants though, they are always fun there. They have very unique dining experiences. I love the stmosphere at many of their dining spots, eben the inexpensive ones are fun and themed.

  • Actually he is telling the truth, kinda. We did want more shops and restaurants. But we wanted them and the clubs. We wanted a place to eat other then I-Hop, Dennys, Steak and Shake or Waffle House when the clubs close. With shops we wanted shops that sold PI specific merchandise. eg. Mannequins shot glasses. T-shirt. So yes the guests do want more shops and restaurants but we also want our night clubs.

  • well there goes any night fun for adults. now they cant compete with citywalk. its not complete without night clubs. thats crazy

  • I'm so glad that they didn't close Planet Hollywood or the movie theater. My friends and I have had so many memories (good and bad, lol) there! It's kinda like 'the' place to go at my school.

  • What's your point? MOST people go there and have a good time and don't bother anyone. Security and cops get hurt on the job all the time. I get the impression you and your hub did not like his job. Change. Let the rest of us enjoy our entertainment protected by someone who 'gets it'.

  • Oh thats fantastic that Disney are giving us more opportunity to eat and shop as there just aren't enough opportunities to do that already?!

If WDW need to evolve they are well within their rights to close the clubs, but should replace them with "entertainment". Afterall, that's what people go to WDW for, not food and shops!?

May Mannequins and the AC rest in peace.

  • I totally disagree of taking out the adventurs Club that place is so Freaking AWESOME. It Sucks that Disney is taking it out. For all the other comments about Disney If anyone of u has been to Disney it is a Foretun 500 COMPANY. AS a Disney Cast Member u people have no right to say we are rude and never Smile we do. Disney is called the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH for a reason. I happen to like what Disney is doing creating new rides BUT IT SUCKS that PI is CLOSING that is on thing I agree on.

  • some are rude, okey not everyone, but the odd looks i get off some staff as i escort my disabled mother through wheelchair gates on rides rather than getting her to walk through turnstiles with her wlaking aid is disgusting. they totally ignore her needs. oh and the mayhem it caused as i asked for a takeout box in typhoon lagoon, i was accused of cutting the cueue insted of being asked if i needed any help!

  • THIS is being done because of the locals which Disney never planned on invading the clubs and causing problems. BET attracted thugs (real tough guys in Disney area by the way. Kidnappings in parking lots, robbery and purse snatching , fights in parking lot. Not something guests want to see on vacation they're shelling out thousands for. THAT's why they are changing it, back to serve their guests and not the local scum

  • I totally disagree with pal that is not why Disney Is changing PI if u had watched the Video the President Of PI said the Guests want more Dining and Shopping. Never in My life have a seen anybody Fighting, getting kidnapped or having somebody steal a purese in the PI parking lot. U have know Idea what the hell u are talking about. I worked for Disney and that is not the reason they are changing that get ur storie straight buddy.

  • never been in there i dont care dont be mad but last time iv been there i was five and im ten now

  • They have taken years to slowly make it loose money. I mean just look at the Disney guy in charge. Do you think he has any idea how to make money by selling drinks and running night clubs. I'm sorry to see it close but I've know it would when the changed the gates that the days where numbered.

  • Downtown Disney was supposed to be an adult getaway. It only failed because Disney kept cutting it back after 9/11. The fireworks and confetti at midnight were great as well as the Phantom of the Opera dance in Mannequins. Dont believe the guest survey copout. Disney did their market research before opening the clubs. Instead of investing more money into it, however, they let it die a slow death most of this decade. Now we will all be forced to go to the subpar City Walk.

  • They're closing the Adventure's Club? THIS IS MADNESS!

    In b4 Sparta.

  • Closing the Adventure's Club is a dumb idea. I'm going down there too for Halloween. I was so looking forward to seeing it again.

  • People seriously want MORE SHOPPING?! Are you freaking kidding me? There's a merch shop at the end of every ride! I am so disappointed Adva Club is shutting down. That was the place to be after a long day on Safari!

  • Oh my gosh you are so totally right there is one at practically ride you get off of. Disney does need at least one place for adults who are 18 and older to get into with out having to worry about kids...

  • it's business!!! It's all about making that extra buck!!!!

  • Disney is all about family and I totally agree with Disney's decision close down the clubs.

  • The last thing Disney needs is more t-shirt shops and mediocre overpriced restaurants. There are plenty of other venues at disney to get your toes runover by strollers. Adults need a destination also. Keep PI and put the damn turnstiles back up!!

  • freakin sucks oh well vegas here i come

  • That's crap.

Pleasure Island was the only "Disney" thing designed for ADULTS. Replacing it for more "family-friendly" shopping & dinning is ridiculous! Disney has more of that than they have rides!

And parents who get offended by the adults hanging out in PI, have no buisness hanging out there or bringing their children around there at that time of the night.

    It's unfortunate their closing it.

    Sad, really.

  • Oh Well there goes the Pleasure.....I guess they'll have to call it Shopper's Island now...or Shopper's Paradise.

  • The last time I went to Walt Disney World, I was too young to go into the clubs. I won't

be going to WDW until December. Oh well, I

probably wouldn't have fun there anyway. I

don't understand why they would get rid of

    The Adventurers Club though.
