I love this car but is it just me or does the 5.- coyote sound a bit tamer maybe refined is a better than that say the older 4.6 from the cobras

@Qnickel27 You can mostly thank the cam phasing and newew finger follower valve train design for that. The coyotes have a nearly perfect linear power curve, and very broad torque all the way to redline. Great attributes for a NA motor.

Having driven lopey cammed pushrod engines for decades, I can't wait to get my Coyote out of the crate and into my Cobra. To my ears, the Coyote sounds fantastic!

Nothing sounds better than a lopey cammed pushrod engine but this engine would be much easier to live with in a car you drive alot. That thing sure fills up the engine bay.

@starzez Yes this is DOHC. I was trying to say that I prefer the sound of the older engines but the the coyote is probably quicker than some and much more streetable.

Oh that is a nice set up but somehow it just doesnt sound rite for a cobra. This set up probably provides better weight distribution, more reliability and still have plenty of power but a cobra is just supposed to sputter and belch with a big ol cam and let out a big block scream when you stand on it. This is where I hate technology. It really is probably an overall better motor & car but somehow it loses something. Guess I will just have to dream of owning 2 now.

@shananagans5 If you really just need the noise you could open the engine up and throw in bigger cams or get a ghost tune for it somewhere.
