@mysticsmb - after seeing VP perform in non-ICCA shows, I feel like the question of who's "vocally inferior" is like asking who's better - Mozart or Beethoven, or which flavor is "better," salty or sweet. Both groups can sing their asses off. No question. Which style you prefer is another issue.

If we're just basing it on these ICCA finals, then to answer your question: Pitches belted more and created better "moments," but VP has better soloist-group balance and less cluttered arrangements.

@mysticsmb I submit they could do better instrument mimicry. Make no mistake, no one is arguing Pitch Slapped is not a fantastic group.  For my money, I'd rather watch a two-hour Vocal Point show.

@9kmurphy Good point, particularly when it comes to VP (Tanner's a beast). But then again, VP/instruments aren't as important for the Pitches because they KILL the rest of their vocals...

@mysticsmb I disagree (not that the Pitches don't kill their vocals - they certainly do). I believe it's not a matter of importance so much as style - both groups are obviously going for different feels/styles/"kinds" of A capella. I expect neither group would do as well with what the other group is attempting.
