  • I own one for five years, And it does look like a kawasaki gt550, Did the GS have a chain drive or shaft? Because it looks like this one`s shaft drive, I know the previous model the Z550 had a chain drive, And more chopper style handlebars, The engine cutting out could be? Fuel tap? Dead battery, Bad earth from damaged electrics (I`ve been there! A bike thief had a go!) Or like Scooterturner1000 said it`s running too lean, sort the engine, Get a seat and headlight and away you go!

  • @xmoroseguyx The Suzuki GS550 was a chain and the GS650 was a shaft. That's a GT550 Kawasaki though not a GT550 or GS550 Suzuki.

  • Its not a GT, its a GS badly in need of bigger jets!(or its run out of fuel)

  • @Biggerbadwolf Kawasaki GT550 not Suzuki GT550

  • @Scootertuner1000 On closer inspection you're right. This one looks like they didn't compensate for the airfilter change.

I had a 1000 shaft with a 1150 kit & stock cams, so much torque you hardly ever needed to drop a gear for more power. The overall design of the series was excellent.

  • @Biggerbadwolf Yeah. Most bikes will only idle when you put K&N style filters on, as soon as you touch the gas, boouuurrhhhgg. That's why when he has the choke on it will go just fine, as soon as he turns it of, blurb, nothing. He needs to either put a stock filter back on or go up several sizes on the main jet. It's not just a little lean, it's a lot lean.

  • @Scootertuner1000 If you look at their other videos, it looks like they fixed it.

  • too much air not enough gas. Too lean
