@EdmundHumenberger I was thinking the same thing as Scherm4tom, mine will only do 55 or so, but I am confused. Is this boat yours, the posting name is different.
My dad has an 2003 180LS.. Last year, we switched the factory 4-banger for a 1993 Ford 5.0 V-8. The engine makes roughly 403 hp and we can cruise at 75 mph without any issues.. Surprisingly, the 5.0 is better on gas than the original 4-banger was..
You know an engine is solid when they use it in so many boat motors. This is the GM 4.3L V6 used in Trucks and vans.

I have the same boat and engine and can only do 55mph flat out, even with low fuel. Hmmm...

@scherm4tom:
Dont worry; I´ve pimped my boat, with
CompCam shafts,
EDELBROCK Carb,
EDELBROCK manifolds,
stainless exhausts,
25" FURY prop.
should be in total ~280HP ;-)

@Sarcasticscum That's right: I had an 18 footer with a 3.0 litre, now upgraded to a 20 footer with the 5.0 MPI, and fuel economy is better.

Our 195LR, with 4 people, a full tank of gas and a Rev4 4blade prop went 61 mls on the speedo.
