Star Wars belongs to George!!! It wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him, and it wouldn't be true star wars if he didn't write them! Lay off the prequels guys, they are still enjoyable movies! As for this video getting at the originals, if you don't like them, why are you spending your time making videos about them!?

Well, Lucas has been mostly honest about his "influences". Personally, though, Star Wars gets it's back bone from Frank Herbert's Dune novels(presented in a Flash Gordon style), yet I don't think he's ever come clean about it. Same with Cameron on Avatar and it's nicking Poul Anderson's 'Call me Joe'.
This is why it pays to ignore the "copy cat" syndrome in Hollywood - everyone is at it!
George Lucas is a terrible writer, what he needs is a co-writer, so he doesn't copy stuff from old movies!! What a prick ! Don't go watch star wars in 3D, just this time, boycott the movie, pretty please! Use torrent!

If your so upset with Lucas' writing style, maybe you should do something with your life. Try to write an enormously popular film franchise, bigger than Star Wars even, and have obsoultely no outside influences rather than sitting in your basement all day making vids and trashing other people's reputations.
Essentially everyone who writes stories takes elements from previous material that influenced him as a storyteller and presents it in a new and original way.
