As much as I have and always will love this show, I do not want a re-boot, or a movie, or a pick-up from where they left off.

I know we all love it, but there's gotta be an ending to something, and I think ALIAS ended perfectly and beautifully. Anyway, movie adaptations or sequels in general tend to be disappointing.

I say if you miss this show, buy the DVDs and watch it all over again. I'm done seasons 1 and 2 already :)

Sydney and Jack fooled everyone by pretending that he was dead, they needed to convince the world that he was so that he could be safe from Prophet 5 and continue work against them. The fact that he's assumed dead by the enemy plays a mildly important role in the last couple of episodes.

Jack had used the puzzle as a test for 'Project Christmas', which was a program he developed for the CIA to train kids to be future agents. Sydney was one of those kids trained by Jack himself. Only children with a very high mental ability (such as Sydney) could solve it.

The fact that Isabelle solves it in seconds without any previous training implies that she could be a future spy. But then she knocks it down suggesting that she won't follow that lifestyle. :)

I hated the finale. When that "Thank you for five wonderful years" thing came up, I yelled "You're not welcome, because that sucked, and you killed Victor!" Love Alias but the finale completely blew. And I cried for the longest time when Jack died.

One of the best shows ever made not only for the story line but for the wonderful cast too !

The Story Line it's just UNIQUE !

I will miss this show for the rest of my live, and I hope to see anything new about the show in a near future.

About the knocking over the puzzle.... any child that creates a tower out of blocks or legos will want to knock it over. I also agree that that was Syd's box and that is why she opened the box with curiosity.

as we can see, Syd didn't REALLY quit the CIA. Dixon always come to her house with some work. when she says:

"That's what you say every time you show up on my door step. Next thing, I know I'm jumping over canals in three inch heals while napalns explodes around me"

clearly she is still working but not in regular basis.

when her daughter knock the puzzle, it doesn't mean that she's not going to become a spy. acctually I think she will.

I think the whole idea with her knocking over the blocks is a way for the directors to show she isnt going to follow in her mothers footsteps. break the cycle, so to speak.

I think that maybe the box was misplaced in her room and she know that it wasn't her box, but her mom's, that is why she slowly opens it the box. And the next scene we see her putting together the puzzle and i believe that that reason she knocked it down was because she knoe that she wasn't supposed to be playing with it and when syndey asked her what she was doing she just said "nothing mom" so that her mom would not find out.

That is my intereption that the Isabel and the puzzle.

I think somebody already explained this, but --apparantly if you can put it together, you have nessecary traits to become a spy. Earlier in the series, we find out that Sydney was able to put it together as a kid as part of a spy training program, "Project Christmas". Isabelle being able to do the same shows that she'd make a good spy too, but the fact that she knocked it down afterward suggests that she might take a different path like Sydney wanted.

Love the ending.  Isabel learned to complete her great monolith puzzle. Then they all go outside to stare at the endless ocean with wonder.

it's something Jack made the young Sydney do as sort of an IQ challenge that served as a premonition of her potential as a genius super spy. i think the writers showed that to give a little kick in Sydney's future that no matter how much she wants to shield her children from intelligence world, the spy genes are too strong and alive in Sydney's daughter considering both Sydney and Vaughn had spies as parents and now their children are progeny of spies as well.

What I'm curious about is that final glance Sydney makes toward the interior of the house... simply a nostalgic look and hope for a better future or could it be pride that her daughter will continue her legacy (assuming she saw the puzzle completed). It was part of project Christmas (a story line from s2) turns out her dad was the head of the project and it comes out that he used it on Syd when she was little. which basicly trained her to be a spy. then in the final ep you find out that Jack dind't intenoily use the program on syd that she found it and assembled it just like isabelle did. And the end shows that isabelle could be a spy but i think the fact that she knocks it down means alot :)

I love, love, LOVE this ending because it is a real closure to a great show. After everything Sydney and Vaughn had been through they deserved a happy ending. I cried so hard when they walked down the beach, realising that I would never watch a new episode of the show again. This scene gives me chills. Thanks Alias for five incredible years.

It was like a test that Sydney's dad used in a project where they'd like train kids to be future agents. Sydney assembled the puzzle when she was a kid, Isabelle also assembled the puzzle. Basically it means that Isabelle has the same potential that her mum had.
