Uh, basically, it is a collectible toy from Japan. Some people collect stamps, some people collect bottle tops, some people collect Star Trek memorabilia, some people collect capsule toys from Japan.

I understand why it might seem strange, but they're very well-made, and very cute, and some people (like myself) like that.
