I think there is definitely homo sexual suggestion here. The clearest instances occurs when the main characters look up and smile at the crotches of the yellow-dressed roller girls. Another, more abstract (and disputable) example is the position of the girls when thy crash into each other. These are very plain. Perhaps the lesbian references are part of their course to finding "their place in the world", if that is in fact what the song is about (haven't read the lyrics).
