I had the cassingle too. Listened to it over and over in my car. Yea, I'm a rockstar in my car. Always put me in a good mood and I always wanted to get up and dance. Still love the original version in it's own right. Don't know about the Fergie thing though. Haven't researched it.
If I remember correctly, Stacy Ferguson (well-known as Fergie) was a member of this group. This was before she became one of the noted singers of the then-future group Black Eyed Peas. This is a great song - it should have at least made the top 20.
This is a goofy thing to confess, but I used to listen to this song on my way to therapy (on a cassingle, no less). It really kind of helped. I still have very fond feelings for this group because of it, even though they're not really together anymore.
